The Bistro at Childress Vineyards
Our menu changes seasonally and can be viewed online at www.childressvineyards.com.
Great food and ambiance. From the wine selection to the desserts our meal was great. My only suggestion is there hours should be longer on Saturdays
The experience was very good. It was my first visit and I enjoyed a good burger with a side Caesar salad. Glad they offered the burger without the bun. Very juicy.
Our server, Natalie was charming and we enjoyed talking with her. She has great charisma and comes from a marketing background. If you haven't considered this before, she might serve Childress Vineyard well to be involved in your marketing. We think she could sell someone the Brooklyn Bridge. Just sayin...
We enjoy coming to the bistro. The food is typically very good. However, I had the shrimp and grits this time. Even though tasty, I had to send it back. It was WAAAYYY too salty. A shame because I really wanted to eat it. We'll still come back though. It's always a nice experience.
The Greek salad was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone that wants lighter fare!
We had a wonderful lunch looking over the vineyard. The tomato bisque was delicious. Chicken croissants were good. Ruben was great. Sweet potato fries are delicious but covered in sugar. Will return again.
Very nice and attractive winery: attractive building, impressive vineyards and property of rolling hills, gigantic tasting rooms and well stocked gift shop, pretty decent bistro with nice views and good food . . . And the actual wines are nice but perhaps not as impressive as a few others in Yadkin Valley. This place feels like and is run like a well oiled Corporate machine that is focused on upon upscale efficiency and volume. Examples: The “ greeter “ directed us to the gift shop even after we said that we preferred to go directly to the bistro to fulfill our pending reservation. The bistro ran out of the featured Seasonal soup at 12:15 just minutes after opening. ( they did have another option ). Then, when I foolishly left my credit card at the table upon leaving the bistro, and hung around the gift shop and tasting rooms for 40 more minutes, no attempt was made to call or text or find me. I drove home 2 hours and then discovered my error. After 3 elapsed hours, still, no call or text. ( yes, they did have my # from the reservation process ). This was a huge disappointment. They had my card in their office. When I called them, I was crisply informed “ we do try immediately to contact the customer in such situations “. Well, uh, NO you do not. Anyway, this is a beautiful facility that is well worth a 2 to 3 hour visit including a tasting and lunch. We did enjoy most aspects of our visit.
First time dining here and everything, everyone had was great. It was a fall menu and I can't wait to try menu during other seasons as well.
My experience was absolutely wonderful! Food, service and ambiance are amazing. Menu is great, a perfect variety in selection but not overwhelming. The only down side is the noise level is a bit higher than you would expect and makes it difficult to carry on a conversation, even with only two of us at a table. I don’t know what could be done to help the noise aspect but it would much nicer if it were quieter. I would definitely recommend going. It’s a beautiful place.
Natalie the waitress was absolutely amazing she was attentive, funny and great service. She needs a raise or promotion. She will bring you all lots of money.
Great place to visit. Tour, tasting and restaurant were superb. Grounds are nice and entertainment enjoyable
My fiancé and I really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely return again.
Fantastic food and music on the patio after our meal was also excellent.
Megan was our server. She was friendly and attentive. My husband and I both had the seasonal apple cider mimosas. It was delicious. We strongly recommend the sausage stuffed mushrooms (also seasonal).
I enjoyed my whole experience. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. the Tour guide Chaz was exceptional. The tour was very interesting and enjoyable. The wine tasting was helpful and they brought me a chair as i cannot stand a long time. Also the meal was delicious and the atmosphere was so enjoyable. The scenery and grounds were beautiful. I will be planning to return in the future.
Childress is lovely but first they told open table we were a no show
Then we waited 15 min to be seated. After seating we waited 1 hr and 15 min for our food. And one of us got the wrong food then had to wait 10 more min. For his food and our server didn’t seem to be at all concerned about any of it. Although manager comped our bottle of wine.it appeared many tables around us had slow service..
Didn’t really enjoy the Sauvignon Blanca wine. But the beauty of the winery masks the poor service. All in all a disappointment and probably won’t come back
Always great food and wine, nice gift shop to browse, beautiful grounds and venue. One of our favorite vineyards to visit.
I always have a great experience when I come to the vineyard the one thing that added to this visit were those outstanding Apple Cider mimosas. They should be added to the menu permanently.
The chef created something that would work around my food allergies. Our server was nice and did a great job making our event special by treating us as if we were all special.
I had the shrimp and grits. It was cold when it was served. Nothing else was served with it. Would not order this again.
Lunch was delicious as always! Our server was great and we will definitely be back!
This was my first visit back to the Bistro after an 11 yr absence from this area. Service and the food was very good. A little noisy, but the Bistro was very busy.
Shrimp Ravioli was outstanding. Drinks were ok, but lukewarm sangria.
Food was great and our waiter was great and very funny but the Hostess that seated us left much to be desired. She let a guy pass us In line and we had reservations. We asked her how to sign up for the Wine club membership and she was clueless but offered to find us a brochure and bring it to our table but then she never came back to the table with a brochure. The bistro is very loud. We were expecting a more private intimate meal but the food was absolutely delicious and did not disappoint.
We did a tasting beforehand and the wines were excellent. We ultimately chose to have a bottle of the Reserve Meritage with our lunch, but it was not an easy decision! Highly recommend the shrimp ravioli and petite filet. Our server (really, everyone we interacted with on staff) was knowledgeable and attentive. Alas, we did not save room for dessert, but were welcomed to take the rest of our wine and wineglasses for a stroll around the vineyards.
We’re wine club members and enjoy going to the Bistro for a delicious lunch with Childress wine! The food is always fresh and the view of the grounds and vineyards is amazing!
Nice selection for lunch choices. Loved the wine "flight"! The cheese board was perfectly balanced for me. My friend is not a goat cheese fan, so it left more for me! Nice to get the member discount!
Blake is the BEST
Food was awesome, service was awesome. What a great place!!
Wish at least the server had said Happy Birthday to my husband. There was a generic card on the table, not very caring! Other than that the meal was great, service was pleasant, no talking or friendliness, though. Loved the petite filet and cheeseburger!
Wonderful food and service. The view of the winery property is beautiful
Great food, Nice service, fab location and beautiful wines
My cousin and I meet at Childress Bistro several times a year. The food is always excellent with a creative menu that changes with the seasons. Had sesame encrusted tuna this time with a side of deep fried avocado. Delicious and perfectly prepared. Salads are huge. Half portion was still large enough to share. I look forward to my next visit. Their chef is brilliant!
Always excellent service and quality food.
We enjoyed our visit and brought friends since we are wine club members. We hope the bistro will be open on Friday and Saturday evenings and not just lunch
The place alone is worth the trip. The restaurant is marvelous with good seasonal food. The service is awesome. We ordered a starter place along with entrees but the entrees came out before the starter so they accepted their mistake by not charging for the starter. It definitely demonstrated to us that they are care and value customer service and reputation.
We left $21 tip for the total bill of $ 58 to let them know they have us now 🙂.
One of our friends can't drink but every drink has alcohol in it. It would be nice to have a few drinks with no alcohol.
Otherwise, we were very happy and definitely will return.
Our server was great
Of course the property was beautiful and absolutely would recommend the Vineyard for any occasion
We each ordered a Sangria with the fruit for our drink. That was the best part of the meal. My husband ordered the reuben with the rosemary fries. The fries were good but the sandwich was dry--barely any 1,000 Island Dressing on it. I ordered the chicken salad croissant. The croissant was dry, a bit on the stale side. The sweet potato fries were good. $22 each for our drink and a so/so sandwich platter and neither of us cared for our sandwiches.
Excellent first time experience at The Bistro at Childress Vineyards . . . great girls lunch outing! Loved it.
Visited with friends and family (5) as usual, the server was excellent, the wine and food were great. Then sat outside and enjoyed more wine overlooking the vineyard
I took my mom here for her birthday! It was only 1 hour outside of Charlotte and right off of the interstate. Everything was immaculate! The wine tasting was worthwhile. The gift shop was break taking. The bistro is a must have. We will definitely return!!!
