Enjoyed the experience. Sea bass with caviar was notable as were the scallops. The abuse amuse was a oyster with sea foam. Perfect. You could run up the bill with the wine list but we found a reasonable white burgundy that paired very well. Finished with the cheese plate - Christens took great care of us. Will return.

Me and my wife’s dining experience left us with mixed emotions. The location and exterior is absolutely beautiful. The restaurant unfortunately does not reflect the expectations set by the gorgeous setting. Upon arrival, entering the conservatory feels like walking in the establishments back door. After passing the exposed, messy trash, located right next to the entrance, the main door has no signs identifying entry. The front entrance is extremely underwhelming. The staff were very attentive and kind. I was exited about the menu listed on Goodstone’s website and was shocked to find out the only option was a $168/person tasting menu. This left me with a sour feeling of bait and switch. Even though this was not advertised, I was intrigued to see what quality would come with this new fine dining menu. I was honestly disappointed by the food quality. $168 sets a high expectation of both quality and experience. All of the courses that night were average with the exception of the initial tempura steak “chefs gift.” My three major complaints are as follows: First, the minuscule serving of lobster was overcooked. If you are to charge Michelin star prices but can’t figure out how to cook a lobster you have issues. Second, the interior does not match the price. The building and facilities feels slightly rundown. For example, next to our table the trim desperately needed re-caulking, or cleaning at a minimum. The wall had a large, unsightly hole in the drywall right by the table exposing the mesh tape. The building feels as if it has not being kept up with or maintained well. Finally, singly ply toilet paper. Our bill with two tastings and two glasses of wine was nearly $500. For $500 the details matter and single ply toilet paper is a prime example of goodstone not paying attention to details. Goodstone presents itself and is priced as fine-dining. Goodstone needs to either step up their game or lose the fine dining implication.

The Bistro and Conservatory at Goodstone is a wonderful restaurant if you love food. The team is kind and attentive, balancing your needs and interests with introducing you to new and interesting flavor profiles in their drinks and food. Having gone multiple times now, I highly recommend the wine pairing and on non-holidays if you enjoy cocktails, plan for a little extra time before your meal to enjoy some of their fabulous cocktails. I also recommend asking the servers for recommendations whenever you are unsure, they haven’t ever steered my wife and I wrong. I look forward to coming back and making this our new, special event dining location.

The staff and the service were absolutely lovely. We both dad the chicken saltimbocca (only dish that was not a sandwich or salad). Even for Saltimbocca, it was much too salty. Chicken was much too dry as well. It would be a good idea to have a vegetarian and a gluten free option. While the menu looked delicious, it was much less varied and not a lot of options. I noticed a couple who came in, unreserved, for lunch, after being seated, decided not to stay .. the reason, they told the manager, was that the menu was not what they expected and didn’t have any healthy options. Surprising for The Goodstone. We have eaten with you many times. This is the first time we have had any complaints.

The building was beautiful. As first time visitors it was a bit confusing. We followed the sign for the restaurant. We walked into what must be the Conservatory. It was a bit awkward because we went for brunch and that is only served upstairs. There was no one to greet us. We were finally told to go upstairs. We walked into an open room and there was a huge table of about 15 people seated in the middle. I thought we had walked into a private meal as there was no hostess stand or anything. A waitress came over and seated us, right next to the noisy giant table. Not knowing any better, I didn’t ask for another table but I should have. Later I noticed a sunporch where other two tops were. A bit removed from the large party. No matter. Our waitress was very pleasant. The brunch menu is limited but all of the options looked good. It would have been nice to also have some options for a starter or a pastry basket of some sort. I had the monte cristo and my husband had the breakfast club. Both were very good. The bread for both made the sandwiches. They each came with fries, which could have used a tad more time in the fryer. They were a bit limp but still tasted good. Overall it was a lovely meal. Had the large party not dominated the room it would have been much better. There wasn’t much ambiance with multiple children 3 feet away. I would recommend and would definitely go back to try their dinner menu.

I was very disappointed in the evening. I had organized this dinner for my wife’s birthday, so it was a special evening. I realized that the evening would be pricey, but I felt that it would most likely be very worth it. In fact, the food was excellent, delicious in fact, however I felt that I was at a kids tea party, because proportions were so tiny that I needed a magnifying glass to see it. I ordered New Zealand venison and I got two medallions of venison the size of a half dollar in about the same thickness. It was accompanied by a very small in fact, only a fork full of accompaniments. I paid over 6 hundred dollars for the dinner for four but had to go home and have a peanut butter sandwich. The staff seemed very sober and inattentive. I ordered a nice(expensive) bottle of wine and they revisited the table once with the bottle to recharge our glasses but never brought the bottle back even though we sat and talked for 30 minutes assuming the wine was finished. After the dinner we found out that 1/3 of the bottle remained as we were leaving. We waited a long time between starter and main so the minuscule proportions were really a surprise and let down. I had notified them that it was my wife’s birthday via open table thinking they would make it a little special —they did—they said “happy birthday”. If you go here, eat ahead of time. Food was great but extinct!

I am so disappointed. The good was incredible but the service was terrible. I am not one to complain about service but it took an hour and a half to get our entrees after our starter. There was zero acknowledgment from any server except when we were given the petite four we were supposed to have at the end of the meal. I would have appreciated if someone would have stopped by to acknowledge the delay in the kitchen.

Really looking forward to this dinner but was disappointed to say the least. The service was slow and unhelpful and the prices for the food outrageous. No social distancing as tables were packed in with guests on top one another. The food was good but for the prices we were expecting Michelin quality and this was not. We sat next to a group of drunken ladies who were doused in perfume and three inches from our backs. If this was an exception due to low staffing or overcrowding, they cannot repeat or they will lose their guests. Harrimans at Salamander Resort that is ten minutes away is three times better for service, food and price. Not sure we will ever return.

Very quaint restaurant off the beaten path. Limited menu choices and very high prices. Food is good and restaurant is nice but prices are way too high for what you get. Our entree took a good long while to get and my husbands meal was warm at best. Service was good, staff was trying hard to please.

My wife and I had an excellent dining experience. Great service from the hostess, servers, wine manager and GM. Extensive wine list, though some of the bottles are very overpriced. Food was top notch and portions were much bigger than expected. Wagyu beef was amazing but very overpriced at $36/oz with a minimum of a 4oz order. We will definitely return to this hidden gem.

The location and services was perfect. The staff were kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was good - some things were amazing but the entrees were just ok and for the price point I wanted them to be amazing. The lobster was chewy and the pasta grainy. I really love the location and the staff - next time maybe just for drinks, appetizers and dessert.

We are enjoying a quick anniversary get away, and this was a lovely and leisurely dinner. The service was excellent. We enjoyed having conversation with each and every staff member we encountered. The house-made ricotta and mushroom risotto were outstanding. We enjoyed our cocktails, suggested wine pairings with our entrees, dessert and after dinner drinks even if the beverages felt a bit excessive in price. I will say that they were well made and delicious. We loved the ambiance and experience overall and are already talking about coming back!

Goodstone is obviously a unique, high end dining experience and that's why we went. That said, for the price the portions are REALLY small. The service was great, the atmosphere and venue is stunning. But we had a VERY expensive dinner and left hungry, so its hard to say it was even close to a good value. We sort of left feeling like we wished we went to one of the other high end restaurants with comparable atmosphere for a special occasion.

This restaurant is located in a remote, beautiful setting and the ambiance is wonderful. The food quality is also excellent, but the quantity is miniscule for the price. It is the most overpriced restaurant I've ever been to, including some in New York and San Francisco. Less than one ounce of Hudson Valley Foie Gras for $42 consisted of mostly apple and brioche. Mushroom risotto was excellent but $48 for the appetizer portion and $58 for the main course portion seems way overpriced. Wagyu Beef was listed as $72 for a two ounce portion, but the minimum order was 4 ounces: rather deceptive advertising. Both seafood dishes came with caviar, so if you don't like that you would still be paying for it. The service was slow even though there were as many servers as dining parties at the time. While the servers were nice, there seemed to be no communication between them. We waited a long time for our check even though we were the only table left and the waiter was just 15 feet away making up empty tables: we had to speak up to even get his attention.
