Service was slow but very pleasant. Starters were great but main courses were decidedly average.

Our waiter was lovely but we had to ask for our wine to be poured twice. The risotto balls were not seasoned and the salad not dressed. The egg on my husbands main was overcooked around the edges. We had glasses on our table that were finished with but not removed. The girl on receptions hair was everywhere, she was not very welcoming. Two tables had kids running around and one non stop crying. We were regular customers of Desios and although we like the menu choice better in The Birnam it was similar to sitting in Frankie and Bennys. We have celebrated many family occasions at Gleneagles but recently have felt the service dose not equate to the charges. My son and his partner are there on Tuesday in the Strathearn a place we have celebrated many milestones, I hope they are not disappointed.

Dined here alone while on business. Pleasant with friendly service but rather impersonal space. Wide choice of food, well cooked and presented.

Service was great and the food was good but was overshadowed by the location of where we were sat. The main dining room is so big. We felt like we were in Siberia when everyone else was being sat in the outdoor courtyard and we were behind a pole by the bar :(
