Awesomely cute place. I want to keep it as my secret. Love the ambiance and breakfast was delicious. I guess I’ll tell a few trusted friends, but I’d love to keep it just for me! I’ll be back soon.

Every time we pass thru DC, we try to find something new, unique, with special attention to detail on the menu. This place nailed it, we had such a great time sampling everything! We’ll be back!

We were in town for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed “The Bird”. Our server Aabi was so sweet, had great recommendations, and did a great job guiding us through our dinning experience. The rest of the staff we encountered was also very friendly. The atmosphere was really fun and the food was very good.

We ordered the Korean BQQ wings and they were completely tasteless. The sauce had no taste at all and was just thick and sticky. We also had a fried chicken which was similar with little to no actual taste. The restaurant was nice and service good but the food was not great. I’m not one to complain about food and this is my first ever bad review.

Sat on the outside terrace for Saturday brunch at 1pm, it was in the shade, lovely. They were training a waiter so service was okay because he was learning. Loved the carafe's of sangria, get the gummy bears. Korean style wings were a little over done, tacos were good, breakfast sandwich was more of a fork/knife deal. Biscuits were good, best when warm. Got an outside table, but it would be nice if we could book it ahead of time because they're dog friendly and I would have brought my dog if I'd been sure to get a patio table.

Great outdoor patio on quiet Logan Circle street. Food was good, HH provided a great value, and service was okay. Wouldn't recommend for anything "quick", but if you're looking to hangout for happy hour, this is a great spot.

We were a group 11 and were very well looked after. They sat us at an awesome large squared off round table which allowed the conversation to flow. Great cocktails and great food.

If you are going to be a fowl restaurant, don't be a foul restaurant. Your fried chicken needs to be better than Popeyes or the grocery store. You need a 4 piece, spicy, bone in option. Disappointed. Flight of the egg...2 sides of a deviled egg might be nice. And I thought that the pickled quail egg was a cherry..

My food was just decent, and I didn't like the food my date got either. But I've only been once and only tried two things from a good sized menu and the plates of the people around us looked delicious!

If you want a cool place with a a nice cozy ambiance, big wine list, and what looks to be a good happy hour (there's and upstairs, open air bar) this is a good one right near logan circle. Be prepared to spend a chunk of change though.

I like the place. It feels both casual and hip, and I've enjoyed the happy hour in the past. At my last visit, my duck was a little underwhelming, however. It was a bit dry and the scallions on top were cool, and looked like they had been grilled yesterday. Otherwise, it was a decent meal.

The place is a charming and lovely local brunch spot. Good coffee, good food and and not too loud. Help was very accommodating and at least this past Sunday we all found convenient street parking. Only downside was no elevator for handicapped.

It was a really nice room, well dressed for cherry blossom season. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was a little disappointing, but there is room for improvement, which if they managed it, would make this a good value and a great neighborhood hangout. I would give the food 2.5 stars. Two examples of food missteps are the broccoli and the fried rice. These are the menu descriptions: CHINESE BROCOLI (sic) ginger, eatwell farms bok choy, sesame; SPECKLED HEN FRIED RICE
snow pea shoots, braised guinea fowl, whiskey barrel aged soy, eatwell farm egg. Just the broccoli description is confusing. Is it gai lan (which I was anticipating) or bok choy? Actually it was just standard broccoli, which was doubly disappointing. Similarly, the “fried” rice was served in a closed dish and ended up with the texture of over cooked risotto. Also, if there was egg it was hard to find, and the hen was minimal too. Both dishes had pretty good flavors, they just weren’t at all what was described on the menu and so disappointing.

The 1- & 2-star reviews are for the waitservice and food. I would give the bar/drinks, bartender, and main floor decorations all 5 stars! However, once we left the lovely main bar area and were seated in a bare-bones 2nd floor sunroom area, everything went downhill. Our waiter was very grumpy/sour and seemed upset that we had brought our drinks from the bar instead of ordering from him. The group next to us asked to have tables pushed together right next to us (despite the rest of the room being half-empty), so I had someone's coat brushing my arm the entire time and had to squeeze against the other patrons to leave my seat. The waiter got my boyfriend's order completely wrong and when I asked him if either of the two non-descript creamy (white and orange-pink) sauces on my dish had mayonnaise or dairy in them (I'm sensitive to both), he said he would ask the chef. He was gone for about 30 seconds before announcing that "Nope, the chef says neither sauce has dairy or mayo." This sounded incredible to me so I was careful to not touch half my food in case of a reaction. We were honestly afraid to ask the waiter to fix anything because he was so sour, unfriendly, and unhelpful (and I believe he lied to my face). I will not be returning for food.

Our drinks didn’t come to our table for over 30 minutes after we ordered. After we asked the server, with a lot of attitude said “they’re being made.” My ramen was like warm but they did graciously remake it and brought it back hot. We had a 7:15pm reservation and didn’t leave the restaurant until 10:40... that is SLOW service.

We were very disappointed with The Bird. We had the recommended buttermilk fried chicken. It was tasteless. The sides were also bland. Our friends had the Amish chicken, which was little better. Much better Chicken in DC at Nando

The staff are very welcoming and attentive. It is a relatively young crowd (30’s) and there is a pleasant neighborhood vibe. Food is so-so, chicken over cooked and over-sauced. With better cooking and lighter use of more interesting sauces this could be a good restaurant.

Absolutely abysmal. Birthday celebration for my husband was ruined by terrible food and service. Kitchen and staff could not handle the rush at 9 pm. Duck was completely overcooked - like jerky. Soup tasted like Pepto bismol. Server was condescending and dismissive. Never again.

We had Chef Ryan Hackney’s Cherry Blossom Tasting Menu with drink pairings which was outstanding. Although the foie gras and the Oyaku-Don were to die for, the entire menu was absolutely lovely. We sat under the colorful parasols indoors which was so nice. Chef Ryan personally talked to us and told us about some of the dishes - such a talented and delightful young man. We have to go back now because we saw and took in the delicious aroma of several orders of the chicken on a waffle, and we cannot stop thinking about it. Thank you for the lovely evening and birthday celebration!

The Bird is located in the Shaw area which seems to be up and coming. They have a roof top area as well as a street level patio. The food is really good and creative. Service couldn’t have been better. All in all a great place to seek out - especially on a balmy evening! You won’t be alone, so make reservations! (On that note we were running late and needed to arrive an hour after our reservation. They could not have been more accommodating!)
