Walter didn’t know the menu. Food great, outside excellent
Something changed. The food used to be terrific. The food now comes cold. The fries used to be terrific, now they are plain, unseasoned and yes, cold. I have been there many times on a Friday night with it packed and hard to get into. Now it’s barely half full. Something changed.
I will certainly be back after a great first experience at The Big Ketch. The food was delicious, I loved the outdoor patio, and the service was very attentive. Loved it!
Food very good. Service poor, took too long to get food. Bit noisy.
My birthday. We had good times outside dining. Prefect weather. We will go there again.
Order the special red snapper for both of us. The food took longer than normal to arrive, but did not mind. When the food arrived my fish was good my wife’s was raw inside. Not under cook but raw. The manager took off my wife’s dish but it may be a while before we return.
It was our anniversary!
One of my favorite Roswell spots. Great food and service.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Grouper sandwich was one of the best I’ve had.
The food is good if you’re ordering anything southern. Fried catfish. Hush puppies. Grits.
They claim beurre blanc sauce with most of their entrees, which apparently for them simply means drawn butter. A little odd, but didn’t take much away from the meal. Skip the broccoli and green beans, they’re just mush with no seasoning.
Kids meals were decent with good portions, the only negative being they were our of milk as a beverage option.
Nice atmosphere, will definitely be back but will be choosier on the menu!
We really enjoyed our recent visit. The food was excellent but our server, Tina, was outstanding. My wife and I loved the flavor of our oysters, grouper and tuna. The brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had. Meal was timed well and Tina was a joy as our server.
We had dinner outside and everything was perfect. My husband ordered the scallops and enjoyed them. I ordered the special - don't remember what type of fish but it was wonderful.
I have been there numerous times and it seems the lobster roll is shrinking. Not that great of a value you anymore so I will probably not order it.
The first two times we went to this restaurant we really enjoyed it. Service and food were good. This last weekend, the valet parking was insane - we had to wait 15 minutes just to get our car key even though we could pull our car out from the spot and leave. The food was average and service was very slow. Our server had multiple tables both inside and out so it wasn't her fault. Just a bad experience for over $100 of food.
Our server was Tara. She was very friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband ordered the seafood soup and said it was very good. He also ordered the mussels and said that they were excellent and the bread that came with it was garlicky and yummy. I had a half Caesar salad and the sweet chili shrimp. The salad was ok. But the sweet chili shrimp was sooo good. The Brussels sprouts that came with it were very good. Tara was very attentive, but not too much. We will definitely go back and ask for Tara.
Our server was great! Just the right Amount of touch! Fish and chips good!
I found this restaurant online and liked what I saw on the menu so made a reservation. My wife and I had a great experience from a very attentive waiter, Dallas, to delicious food. A bit pricey, but it is Roswell and it’s not a pub. Dallas recommended the hush puppies as an appie and he was spot on. We had the Big Ketch Combo and Tuna Tartar as our entrees and both were excellent choices. We will be back and are looking forward to it.
Went for an anniversary and got highly disappointed by the sizing of the lobster roll! The quality was excellent. Not to sure about using a small hot dog bun for a roll and not even filling the bun entirely... the picture on your yelp review gives the appearance of a normal size hoagie roll! Very mislead for one of the most expensive sandwiches on the menu.
Excellent quality of fresh seafood and excellent service.
Always a delicious meal and good service. Love the skinny margaritas!
This was our first visit and will certainly be back.
A lovely dinner with my daughter! We enjoyed a well prepared meal with wonderful service! Can not wait to go again!
This was our first time trying The Big Ketch out. We made our reservations for 8 PM on Saturday. We arrived about 10 mins early and we were sat immediately. Our server was attentive and our food was excellent. The noise level was a little high but not so much we could not talk to each other. The food came out in a timely fashion. We will be back.
We had a good dinner at The Big Ketch on Friday. Food was great and everything was brought out very timely. We originally sat outside but then when it started lightening they quickly found a table to seat us at inside.
Excellent food and Tina was an outstanding server. Always willing to help and please us. Thank you for the special location of a round table in the back room.
Recommend the scallops and good adult beverage selection. Will be back soon!
Everything was good but our service was not quite what we would have hoped for. We didn’t see her too often and our salad was brought out with our entrees instead of before.
Both the food and service were superb. Nice atmosphere, and not too loud. Our server, Julian was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We'll be back!
Won’t be back. .
Although the service was excellent, the food does not seem to be as well prepared as it was when I visited the first two times. The flavor and presentation were ok the last two times I came, but not as wonderful as the first two visits. The crab cake I had was not attractive nor tasted really as good as the shrimp skewers meal and the fish tacos were wonderful. The grouper fish sandwich not so great.
The situation on Labor day was a fiasco. They ran out of all of the food specials. Long waits for those who had reservations even though at least half of the tables were empty. Customers were irate and complaining. We quietly cancelled our reservation and left so as to not make a scene.
We made a reservation got there a few minutes early checked in and was told we would be seated closer to the reservation time well 20 minutes after that time was told that there were six more reservation ahead of me (so what the point of making a reservation ) but was asked if I wanted to sit in the bar area ok. Then another fifteen minutes no one came around. So after almost two hours we ate . Food wasn't that good ordered the crab cake tasted like mostly breading we spent 70 dollars was not impressed save your money
Went to get advertised Lobster Roll buy one get one free. At 6:30 was told they had sold out. Waitress was confused about how to handle. she also did not respond to request in timely manner. Been there several times and always enjoyed. The manager did comp the smaller dollar value she ordered. A rain check for same value as Lobster Roll would have been nicer.
Sorry, can't recommend. Had five groups ahead of us when we arrived with reservations. Had sold out the lobster rolls, which were promoted for Labor Day. Poorly managed. Read the reviews on Yelp.
In fairness, this was labor day, but we are frequent diners and the problem seems a little more systemic...
We had reservations and still waited a fair bit of time to be seated. The item that one of our party wanted was sold out. This is not a problem; it is going to happen in a sea food restaurant. He went to item number 2. Moments before our food came out, our server tells us that the second choice is no longer available. This member of our party now leaves. The food for the remaining 5 comes out, save 1. 4 people stare at their cooling fish while the last member waits on her food. Server later responds to tell us, specifically, that the non-served menu item has been removed from the check... no kidding and????
This said, the food was good. The outside patio is nice, but I have a sense that things are starting to slip through the net at the big ketch. The trend over the last few visits has been decline.
They were out of many items & only gave a rain check for two weeks
Should have notified people before they sat down that they were out of so many things on the menu
We arrived early for a 6:30 PM reservation only to be told that there were 9 tables ahead of us. This is a popular restaurant that does not honor a reservation system. There were other upset people outdoors with reservations who were told the same thing. We cancelled and headed to Osteria Matone where the service was awesome, the food delicious and wine divine.
Host stand was a disaster. Reservation time meant nothing. Once finally seated we didn’t see a waiter for 25 minutes at least. Lobster roll was a special which they were out of but no problem. We ordered fish tacos and salmon but then they were out of fish tacos.....ridiculous. We left. Not sure how this restaurant thrives being so poorly managed.
We set reservations for 6pm dinner (specifically for BOGO free Lobster Rolls. ) Told sold out since 2pm as they bring out Lobster Rolls to patrons at bar without reservations. If that wasn’t bad enough, it took 90 minutes to get our dinner served. No one from management came over to apologize. We eat there all the time or should I say we ate there all the time.
Was supposed to to have buy one lobster roll and get one free.
They were out.
The Big Ketch was less than a good experience this time! I ordered the kale quinoa bowl and the kale had not been properly washed so there was a significant amount of sand and grit. Because the service was so bad, I was never able to tell my server since he never checked on us. I ate some of the salmon out of the bowl and gave the rest to my dog. He loved it.
My niece had the scallops and they were fabulous. The service was almost non-existent. I asked another server for a check and I let our server now about the meal but no offer to have a credit for the meal.
I've had good experiences at this restaurant but this was really unacceptable. I won't go back for a while.
