   Visited on a Friday evening. We sat inside, middle room. Not too crowded. Most people sat outside. Ordered a special. Pork and gouda Mac and Cheese. Pork had a yummy bbq sauce on it. It was great. Large enough to take half home. Shrimp and grits were good too, especially the pork belly. Grits were flavorful.

   Food is always excellent, serve is always great and very friendly. Really wish you would add the deviled eggs with salmon/bacon to the everyday menu. The were amazing and I have told other people about them, but they have got to try them.

   It was my first time at the Big Creek Lodge and I went to an event "Moms, Mugs, and Munchies." The food was delicious and the service was great! Will definitely be going back in the future!!

    Ordinarily, we have an excellent experience at this restaurant ;however, this dining experience was not as enjoyable. The restaurant was out of several drinks and food options. In addition, they were short staffed at no fault of servers. We hope that you will stock essential items upon our next return.

    What a find! We stayed at the Luna Trail Lodge and were so excited there was a restaurant on site. It turned out to exceed expectations - the food was great and we were treated to a moonrise over Hanging Rock while we ate dessert.

    Well. We went on a 45 minute jaunt to check this out. It ended up being a destination where you kept saying ‘what a pleasant surprise! I had no idea this was here. It’s gorgeous’. And that’s all true. The one person on duty who did his level-best to frankly do it all is to be commended. It became a little like that I love Lucy episode where the conveyor belt of candy just keeps rolling and you get the cringey sensation when someone is a one-person band : as he was having to get orders, play bartender, seat people and deliver food. And answer a phone for a takeout pizza that undoubtedly infuriated the customer who had to wait an interminable period for it to be prepared. Here’s what I know- we’ll be back; just as we’ve always returned to restaurants who at least try and give a delicious, clean if not short-staffed effort.

    My family and I went for brunch after making reservations. All of the food was cold. The bill was very expensive considering we couldn’t even eat the food. The waitress was not friendly and quite frankly rushed us to pay and leave. It was a terrible experience.

    The food on the buffet was cold and only some of the food was still left on the buffet. We had paper cups for our coffee and had to microwave our food to warm it up from the buffet table.Will not go back again.

    We had heard great things about The Big Creek Lodge. But we were very disappointed in our visit. First they need to update their open table page, it does not say anything about Sunday Brunch Buffet. They show a lunch menu which looks very good but when we got there they told us you can’t order off the menu until 4:00. Once again no mention of this on Open Table. The buffet had Eggs, bacon, sausage/gravy and biscuits. Also had brisket which was good but only warm. Chicken which was dry and only warm. The only veggie offering was macaroni salad, corn salad and potatoes which were cold. My husband ordered tea to drink and had to get up to get his own refill even though there were 3 people standing around the bar just chatting. I got a coke and they brought me a can no ice no glass. Not sure if we will go back for dinner or not. Very disappointed after hearing how good the food was.

    The Big Creek Lodge was overall great! Our waitress was super sweet, but there were several large parties that she was waiting on. There were times that we were in need refills. Overall, we enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere.

    Really, really good food in an area where you would not expect it. Paid twice the amount for food in Winston-Salem, nowhere near the taste or quality. Make a reservation and you will walk right in.

    My husband and I had the brunch buffet on a Sunday. The food was so good, with lots of choices. The restaurant and grounds were beautiful. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back and we can’t wait to try dinner there one weekend.

    The waitresses were working their butts off, making sure every table was attended to. The menu is varied, giving all tastes something to choose. Value was very good. Our spinach salads were exceptional! Best I've had. My prime rib was cooked to my liking- medium rare, which I requested. But my husband's was overcooked as medium.     I had booked a valentines dinner for my wife and I weeks ago at a new local steakhouse in Winston Salem. Frankly the price point for the offerings had me skeptical of true quality. It was only days before Valentine’s Day that our babysitter had fallen through and had to regroup on my Valentine’s Day game plan to include our son and daughter. I have to say it was the best thing that could have happened. The accommodations for a overnight stay even if just for the one night is on a next level of luxury. Situated only 35 minutes from Winston Salem this can be a vacation or even a staycation venue. Now back to the dining… the old saying “there is gold in them hills” is a understatement on the menu and execution offered in this large, intimate, cozy meets class establishment. As for the two week old steakhouse in the heart of downtown Winston originally booked, eh I will say I’ve tasted perfection hitting on each cylinder here at The Big Creek Lodge and I won’t even entertain the ladder after this evening. Job well done to the Chef, BOH and FOH team!

    It was our first visit to the Big Creek Lodge. We absolutely loved it. The food was great, and the service was awesome. It was a little noisy from the kitchen, but not too much where it interrupted our meal. Will definitely be back again!

    Unprepared to accommodate the reservation crowd. Unable to seat properly unable to provide enough condiments on the table had to go 3 times for partial refills each time of ketchup. Unable to keep the promised all you can eat on the bar was always waiting for a dish . Unable to keep even enough tea brewed even had to wait on that.

    No service at all. We had to go to the bar for drink refills and even then it seemed like we were in the way. Food was pretty good but not very much on the buffet and a lot ran out. There were not many tables set up and very little attention was given to the buffet area. This is a nice venue but I doubt we will be back, especially not for a buffet/special event like last night. It could’ve be so much better with at least one server refilling drinks and clearing tables or at the very least a drink station. The band was good and we did enjoy hearing them play.

    The fish and hush puppies were excellent. People were using their same plates they had eaten from and going back to the buffet. I actually had to go ask someone to bring out plates so they wouldn’t go through the line a third time with their dirty plates. I guess all together I got up and had to ask for ketchup, silverware and refills on our drinks. I thought it was a state law you had to approach a buffet table with a clean plate each time. The food was good but it would take us a better experience or explanation for allowing people to use the same plates for us to return and word of mouth can either be good or bad.

    This is a hidden gem - very casual to formal - whatever your desire. Great home cooked food. From almost farm to table. Very friendly staff and gorgeous grounds - an absolute must have if haven’t ever visited

    The food and the service was outstanding! The chef brought out the cheese appetizer and explained his choices and it was delicious. Our meals we wonderful and the timing between courses was great. See will definitely go back.
