Food is much better than the previous restaurant. Service is a bit slow. Not too many people at lunch time but it took a while for our orders to come. Bison ribs is fork tender, lobster roll is delicious, the trio creme-brulee is a must. Although the serving is small but it was good.

Birthday a lunch with a friend and it was the perfect place! Beautiful outdoor dining looking out over the bay! Food was great & portions generous. The recent upgrade is fabulous, I will frequent The Berkeley Boathouse!

The only redeeming thing about this restaurant is the view of the Bay and the sunset.

We found this newly opened restaurant on its first day of regular service. The food was excellent. We started with Burrata with perfect heirloom tomatoes and pesto, one of the best I've ever had. Their Kung Pao version of brussels sprouts was sweet, spicy and tangy, well cooked and still a bit firm. The filet mignon au poivre with black truffle butter, served with watermelon and beets on chevre mousse was absolutely divine. My partner had a fried chicken sandwich with fries which was well done and exactly what he wanted. It's great they have such a full menu ranging from burgers to filet. There were many dishes we still want to try. Service was exceptionally friendly, organized and professional, especially for a new restaurant. There's a bar in the middle of the large room with beautiful views of the marina, several TV screens, some live music when we were there that wasn't too loud -- so the ambiance is more of a hotel casual restaurant vibe than the fine dining menu they serve, which definitely competes with the best the Eastbay has to offer. We also enjoyed the spaciousness of the room--not crammed together in rows of tables as is popular these days. This was overall a very pleasurable and worthwhile experience. We will definitely be back.

I like to try new restaurants, but the Berkeley Boathouse is not one of the restaurants that I’ll visit again. The service is really poor, we waited for about 10 minutes before the server came and took our order. I asked bread and butter, the server said “ We don’t serve bread and butter here. Anyway, your appetizers will be served soon!” But later on, she served the bread and butter to the table next to us ??? The scallops that I ordered is not good and even the flatbread bbq chicken that we ordered . For those prices, we expected a very good quality of food. When we ordered another bottle of beer, the server even didn’t give us a new clean cold glass, so we have to use the same glass. The Berkeley Boathouse is not a fine dining restaurant that we thought, it’s just the same level with fast food restaurants. The server didn’t charge us for our dessert , cause I complained why she lied about the bread and butter. I won’t suggest to anybody to eat there! The management need to train the servers to be more professional, even the runner didn’t understand and speak English very well when we asked her some questions. Overall, we’re so disappointed about our experience at the Berkeley Boathouse:(

The food was fantastic. The best salmon I have ever had. The service was very disorganized although the head waiter was very good. The menu is rather limited but everyone else in my party enjoyed their selections. This is a very new restaurant so give them some time to work out the kinks.
