Need to book at 1:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Always love The Bercy
Food was very well presented and tasty. Service pleasant
This was not typical i am sure. Our waitress was completely out to lunch. Half of our dinner items arrived 10 minutes before the other half of our parties items (we were a party of 6). In their defense, they did comp us for two of the dinners due to this issue, but it was annoying to have almost two separate dinners at out table. Once we finished dinner and dessert we couldn't find our waitress to pay. She came over about 15 minutes after we were completely finished and finally took the credit card. First time there. Probably the last.
Service was fantastic! Manager was exceptional but the food...... very very disappointing. I know it was a Saturday night but it was so loud I had to yell at the other people at my table. I didn’t feel this was a upscale restaurant at all. Oh well... live and learn.
The food and service were very good. But I have a complaint. I wanted to bring my own bottle of wine. So I called the restaurant before i went and asked about the corkage fee. They told me $15 and I was ok with that. I brought my bottle because even with the $15 corkage fee it is much more cost effective ($65 cost). However, when I got the check they charged me $25. And this is the second time they did this. They try to screw you. They should update their system to charge what they advertise.
Always a wonderful dining experience. From the hostess to the bartender, an excellent dining experience.
It was quiet upstairs for dining without noise of bar.
We were very disappointed they had sold out of most items and when it got to desert they only had 1 option available
NYE 6 people
I usually don't post bad reviews if I think it's a one off but this experience was so terrible I owe it to everyone to be aware. Seated promptly for our 8:00 reservation for New Year's Eve. It went downhill from there. Our server, Corey, was the best (and only) good part of the whole experience. The air conditioning was blowing directly on us. My husband never complains about cold and he was freezing. It took an hour for them to turn it down. Drinks finally ordered and served. Wine was good but I had a terrible martini (straight up). They must have let it sit in the ice too long. Watered down and, oddly, not chilled enough. Took food order and one hour later got our appetizers. It was a price fixe menu with 5 entrees. They ran out of lobster at 8:00 on New Year's Eve!!!! We were told we got the last lobster. Waited another hour and they compted us some wine. Then we were told that someone else got our lobster. This person ordered duck instead which was not even on the menu. I had salmon which I could have made myself. Very unremarkable. Three people had what was supposed to be ribeye steaks. They definitely were not! Also, some bites were over salted and some had no taste. I wonder who was doing the cooking. Finally the manager came over and told us what happened. They gave our dinners to another table! We got our desserts to go and they were not what we ordered. We were not charged for anything which was the right thing to do. We will never go back. We got home at 11:45.
We went to the Bercy on NY Eve - party of 4 at 8:00pm. Their NYE menu was advertised as steak and lobster among other good things. At 8:00pm, the steak, lobster and pasta options were no longer available!
nor was one of the appetizers and a dessert which of course were the two we wanted. Additionally, the wine we ordered was not available, but another was offered at $100+ more! Service was absolutely terrible. We waited over one hour for our appetizers, and then another hour or so for our dinner. The "steak frites" substitute dish for the dry aged steak was inedible - all fat and served with a very odd green sauce on top (we still don't know what that was.) The two pasta dishes (substitions for the original menu item) were served cold! My dining partner ate his dinner cold, while I sent mine back. It was returned to me over 15 minutes later - still cold!!! I sent it back again and never saw it again. This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The restaurant was not overly crowded so there really was no reason for such poor service, and the lack of menu items offered for their pre-fixed menu. It was a disgrace.
NYE is not a normal night, I will concede-- but this was really suboptimal. The so-called lobster dish was an amalgam of cream and bits of crustacean not otherwise identifiable. The agnolotti was not-- it was pappardelle that we later found was a substitution due to diminished supplies. The steak was also an unknown cut of beef (also a replacement). Even staff confided that they were intentionally under-manned for the night. Definitely a risky move that has tarnished an otherwise-solid French restaurant. I felt genuinely bad for our server who was really trying her best.
A great time was had by our group. Excellent all around . We will be back often.
NYE is not the norm but The Bercy is one of our favorite places. We go there quite often and went last year for NYE. We were very much looking forward to a repeat - this was not the case. The appetizer soup was very good. The steak was just OK - a little thin and closer to well done than medium - and the pomme frittes were overdone. Dessert was OK. Very disappointing meal and experience.
Allow me to start by saying we like this place. If we didn't. we wouldn't have chosen it for an early New Years Eve dinner or driven 30 miles to get there. That said, our visit was a bit of a let down. We were graciously greeted by a very friendly hostess and promptly taken to our table. Our server greeted us cordially and struck up a friendly conversation while taking our beverage order. The place was tastefully decorated for NYE and there was a special three course prix fixe menu that we were aware of beforehand. My wife had the beet and berry salad for her opener while I chose beef tartar. Both were nicely presented and tasty. We both ordered salmon for our main and we agreed it was OK but nothing special. We both selected apple tart as our dessert and it was OK as well but difficult to cut with a fork, not nearly the flaky confection we were expecting. Coffee was a nice strong accompaniment. Service was attentive throughout and a the restaurant began to fill up, the noise level increased dramatically.
The bill for our $65 prix fixe ended up at nearly $190 including a generous NYE tip. When we spend close to $100 per person for dinner, we expect to be wowed and unfortunately, we that was not the case.
The food is excellent but lately, the service has been so slow....35 minutes for cocktails to arrive. When we expressed that it had taken a very long time, our server was obviously miffed and stayed so throughout the meal.
I think management has to train their staff better because the place is lovely, food is great - a place we enjoy after a long day at work - but we also want to be able to dine in a reasonable amount of time
Server was fabulous. We enjoyed our dinner
Corey, our service was awesome! He was friendly and attentive to our needs. Asked several times if there was anything we needed.
Lunch menu surprisingly limited. The weekend brunch menu is better.
All the food and cocktails were delicious! My girlfriend and I split oysters, the charred octopus, the glazed duck and the seared scallops and they were all amazing! She had the Bercy cocktail and I had the Poisson Maison and we both enjoyed them greatly and to cap it off she enjoyed the melt-in-your mouth maple creme brûlée while I had the apple tarte tatin, both were fantastic desserts to finish an amazing dining experience, I would recommend The Bercy to anyone looking to have a delicious and exquisite dinner date with someone special
The Bercy is fun, creative and reliable. The last time we were there our server was overwhelmed but still did an excellent job. We love dining at The Bercy.
Food and service with Jessie) were both excellent - both entrees were unique, with incredible sauces.
Restaurant seemed really pricey - esp. for fairly-small portions - which may have been part of the explanation why the tables were mostly empty - only the bar was half-filled on a Sunday night.
Great Anniversary dinner. Complimentary champagne, great food, exceptional service, and complimentary dessert with a candle.
Holiday get togetjer
We had a nice cozy booth near the bar. It was a very cold night outside and it felt nice and warming in Bercy.
Prices are a little high for outside Philadelphia in the suburbs but we enjoyed the meal.
The menu looked good, but food was disappointing. The only real upside is that our waitress was attentive and pleasant, and the restaurant is attractive. Nothing we ordered was better than just "fine," and the scallop entree was particularly disappointing -- it was bland and tiny. It consisted of 1-2 tablespoons of a bland celery root puree, the leaves of one brussel sprout, and four moderately sized scallops. Four scallops is normal enough, but ordinarily there would be a reasonable portion of vegetables/starch with a scallop entree. Even having ordered starters and being petite, I was still hungry and had to go back to the bread basket. We didn't bother with dessert. Additionally, our entrees were dropped off about 15 seconds after our starters were picked up. It's nice not to wait around for ages, but this felt really rushed. I won't return for dinner ever. Probably a fine place for drinks.
Food was room temp
Cory was outstanding. We had a fabulous time.
Very enjoyable , the service was fantastic . We will definitely go back,
We love this place. The service is always stellar and friendly. The food and drinks never disappoint!
Four of us, including a 6 year old, had a very good meal at the Bercy. There is nut allergy concerns in the family and the restaurant and server were very conscious of it and assured us that we did not have to worry.
Our evening was very relaxing and pleasant. The space is very well appointed and seating comfortable. The 6 year old was catered to and all service was excellent.
Would definitely return.
Fantastic waiter (Cory) and excellent food.
We’ve dined here many times, and the experience gets better and better! The Bercy is a Bistro/Restaurant located on a corner in Ardmore, in a picturesque old bank building, with an interior very tastefully appointed to simulate an authentic Bistro with a truly French ambiance. There is a large bar (with a lively bar scene!) to your left, banquettes to your right, seating, and much more seating above in an elevated mezzanine.
Upon entering you are greeted by Jen, the Maitre d’, who is exceptionally friendly, competent, and attentive. She makes the experience special. All the servers we’ve encountered (we have been there many times), are great. Whether Cory, Joel, Yesenia, or others, they remember you, and stop by to say hello, even if they aren’t specifically waiting upon you. If you need extra bread or have a question or a drink refill, the Server team works together and ensures that your needs are promptly met.
The food is consistently excellent. Favorites like Steak frites, a delicious French onion soup, and the Bercy Burger are always on the menu (and the accompanying pommes frites are crispy and perfectly done), but for the cooler weather they’ve added other options including an extremely tasty prosciutto and stracciatella wood fired bread, and our favorite, the Veal Mushroom Ragout (enough to share) as an appetizer. Their Trout Almandine and Seared Diver Sea Scallops are also options to consider. In addition they feature a large number of “raw bar” options.
During the meal, expect to be greeted by Justin, the owner, or Kristin, the GM. They take a very personal interest in all of their patrons and earnestly strive to make your dining experience superb (they succeed!!)
In summary The Bercy is a very authentic French Bistro – that does serve an expanded menu with additional non-traditional options. The tasteful ambiance, excellent food and spectacular service ensure that this is a perfect destination for date night, business, or friendly get together
First time at Bercy. The food was very good. Our waiter was even better.. We will return.
Consistently excellent authentic French cuisine served by knowledgeable wait staff in a wonderful two story converted century old bank building in the heart of happening Ardmore, PA.
Thanksgiving dinner offered a set menu with several choices, and some traditional offerings with unexpected seasonings. It was good, and we would choose it again.
We love celebrating Thanksgiving at the Bercy! They make sure our family celebration feels special, the food is extraordinary and the service is always stellar.
Went there for prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner. My husband had french onion soup, glazed pork tenderloin & creme brûlée. My son & I both had shrimp cocktail, turkey with mashed potatoes & roasted vegetables and pumpkin pie. Everything was delicious & just the right size portions. Restaurant was busy but service was still excellent.
We were seated upstairs and were completely forgotten. It took 40 minutes to get our cocktails. Another hour before entrees came. With each reappearance, the wait staff had a new apology and a fresh excuse for why we’d not had timely service. The food was good, but we won’t be back. 2.5 hours for dinner on a Tuesday night was not acceptable.
We LOVE Bercy! Our go to date night spot on weekends. Parc used to be our favorite spot, but now Bercy has taken first place due to same food and only 5 minutes from home. The service is fantastic- Jen the hostess/ manager is welcoming, gracious and will recognize you by name. We have too many servers we like to call one out ( although we love Tony) they are all great! Put this in your weekly regular spot- you don’t be disappointed! # vealragout #trout
