Salmon was a bit well done.
Pork belly app was really good.
Wedge salad was great (as always).
Oxtail Pappardelle was very good, but topped with a dollop of goat cheese - which (sadly) my wife can’t eat. But, on the upside, I can. ;-)
We stayed overnight at the Padre Hotel and had dinner in the Belvedere Room. These are difficult times for restaurants, but they are clearly doing their best. The food was good, and the service very good. We particularly appreciated Charles, who was both personable and professional.
absolutely the best place to go i loved it so much
The angus ribeye was comparable to a steak from Vons. I’d recommend looking into one with more marbling rather than having a lean steak. Secondly, the asparagus was a tad gritty, like sand or dirt. Overall, the food was good, especially the mushroom risotto.
The food was delicious but the courses took a long time to arrive.
The restaurant was beautiful our server Devon was AMAZING!!! The wine great, and the steaks delicious!!!
The food was quite good and our server was great! She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wine options, but did not hover. We all had a great time.
The ambiance is perfect for fine dining. The food was great and the presentation was very classy
Shrimp cocktail & pork belly were fabulous
Great service, great food.
Belvedere room is always super accommodating. Food is delicious and service is top tier
Great service and food however AC was out and it was extremely hot. Still worth it though!!
We had a reservation, arrived on time, only to be told they were closed and are not open except on Friday and Saturday nights. No apology with me holding the reservation in hand…except basically to say it was our fault for not calling and instead using Open Table. Also, no help in finding another place to eat!
Amazing value. Apps, mains were great. Definitely will go back
The food is always good and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The asparagus was awesome and we ordered all the deserts which each one of them is good for 2 people
The kids love the rigatoni and the burgers.
The service has never been bad for us.
We will be back
If you are looking for an elegant place for a special evening, the staff at The Belvedere Room will make your experience wonderful. I was somewhat disappointed in the food, but I suspect it has to do with the menu. As a person who loves flavor, I found the food rather bland. Everything sounds fancier than it is. "Yukon fingerlings" basically means French fries. I ordered the roasted herb chicken and my husband ordered the NY strip. The meats were both seasoned well, but the glazes for both were just ok. The little potatoes and bacon that was also presented on my dish was cooked so much that it had almost zero moisture, in other words they were all just little crunchy bits that ended up just tasting like grease. The entrees do not always come with sides, you have to order all the sides a la carte. I did not realize that, so my plate was just the meat, and that's it. My husband ordered a special salad with watermelon, onions, and pepper that he loved. I thought it was an interesting combo with the watermelon and pepper, but not something I would choose for myself. My husband loved my chicken also, and I preferred the steak so we ended up switching plates halfway through the meal. Maybe we should have ordered something more exotic, but neither of us are big on fish and the other choices were a pork dish or a bison dish that they were out of. I guess for me, I have had so many international dishes that this type of menu for me is just lacking in spices and flavors and I learned that "Fancy" does not always equal better quality. Overall we enjoyed a leisurely 2 hour meal. Our waiter was phenomenal. The food was good, but the experience and ambience was really why the cost makes it valuable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a nice meal, overall.
Eh. Just okay. Steaks cooked well, but the flavor was off.
Excellent food! We had the Miso Glazed Pork Belly, Arugula and beet salad (we split the salad as it was too big for one), I had the Scallops and Ric had Salmon. Best scallops I've ever eaten! Service was excellent. Attentive without being intrusive to our conversation. It was Tuesday, so very quiet compared with a weekend evening.
Devon was amazing his service was outstanding the food was amazing timing of the food was perfect being a server myself for over 20 years I was impressed Devon was very knowledgeable wine presentation was perfect just an overall great experience was our first time and we will be back.
Service and the sides were the stars of the night. Salmon was described as "too fishy", Steak was a tad overcooked but it was fine overall. Personally, being 100+ miles from the ocean, I wouldn't order fish in Bakersfield. The butter that arrived with the bread was a hit. Server was on point tending to the 2 bottles of wine that we brought.
This was our first dinner at the Belvedere and we will definitely return. We had a nice bottle of sparkling and the staff provided a table side ice bucket. The service was spot-on and friendly. We shared the fritto misto soft shell crab appetizer. It was a little large for two, so next time I’d order it only if we have another couple to share it. The hub had the filet mignon and mushroom on the side, both cooked to perfection. I had the scallops on risotto, which was also super delicious. I purposely saved room to try the limoncello creme brûlée, which was wonderful. This is a great restaurant for a special night out!
The service was exceptional as was the food.
Very nice experience
The steak I received was mediocre at best, wasn't seasoned well. The sides were all bland in my opinion.
The music was a little loud for the type of restaurant, it was difficult to hear anyone speaking at the table.
The waiter was very nice and did a great job though so the service is on point. Just not worth the $200+ tab.
Food was delicious, however it took an hour for us to get our entrees and about 30 minutes to get our drinks.
One of the best restaurants in Bakersfield! Devin provided amazing service and made my birthday memorable! Don't miss out!
Absolutely incredible service (Charles I believe was his name). The food was cooked to perfection.
Very romantic place to eat. Food was very delicious.
We have always been delighted with the Belvedere, and enjoyed out 48th Anniversary there last night.
Great place for a nice quiet dinner. Food is top notch and the service is outstanding
Our steaks had a lot of gristle. The waiter was nice. The owner/manager was extrra nice.
Wonderful outdoor dining space made special with festive lighting, fireplace, and outdoor heaters. Service was wonderful, for a good selection of drinks and food.
Took grandkids shark tooth hunting and had to stay overnight in Bakersfield. Had visited Prairie Fire once before when staying at the hotel and really enjoyed it. Everyone loved dinner as well as the live music which we hadn’t expected this time around. The waiting staff all wore masks and were very helpful.
Rooftop brunch has great food and a fun vibe.
The food, the service, the live music was all pretty good.
The check had the traditional room service charge and the waitress made it clear that it wasn’t gratuity. So you end up paying taxes- a service charge and tips which is almost 40% of the check - it diminishes value greatly
Great food, fast service. Unfortunately they were out of the truffle pretzels, but I was able to get the fries and they were delicious.
Very good food perfect menu.... nice and relaxing.
The food and drink selection was awful. Our server was great and he did his best considering the lack of the availability of wines on their list. The appetizer we ordered was pretzels, which we have had before, were stale.
