The pork belly app was good! Positive: Carton was on tap Negative: it was warm. Ordered burgers was just ok.

Had a wonderful dinner with colleagues for a post-holiday get-together. The menu is simple but reliable. I had the coconut shrimp apps and a cheddar burger with fries. My colleagues both had the fish tacos, which they also enjoyed.

First went to Belmonte early 2016 and throughly enjoyed their tapas menu. Returned late 2016 only to be severely disappointed with the new lackluster overpriced menu.

Staff friendly with only a few forgetful moments. Food good especially apps with the common exception of too much salt.

I should have known that the abundance of tables on a Saturday night should have been an issue. The place was empty at 6pm. The meal started with a round of beers, a cheese platter (which was the best part of the meal) and a dozen oysters. 55 minutes later, the main course finally arrived. Roast chicken and potatoes that must have spent a half hour under a heat lamp, soggy fish tacos and a cold cheeseburger. Maybe it was a bad day for the chef. I will try it again I suppose, but I wasn't impressed. Especially for 195 with tip for 4 people skipping dessert.

Evan was our waiter. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and provided excellent service. Food was amazing. My only complaint is that the design/decor/atmosphere/ambiance does not fit the level of food and service provided. Looked more like a really nice dive bar. Need to step it up to compete with other restaurants in Red Bank. Food and service is already the rest of the place just needs to catch up.

We had a great waiter and loved the ambiance. However the food was awful. The Scallops were a bad batch and had the worst after taste. Their signature pepper side dish was so salty and greasy couldn't even eat more than 2. Their fried calamari was so thin, and the tuna tartar was just OK. Not worth the money at all! However the cheese plate was amazing. If I went back I would just get wine and cheese!

Most of our food was very good. We ordered the Orange and Fennel salad, Zucchini and Corn Flatbread for apps, very good. For dinner the scallops were very good and the parpardelle with bolognese was ok, the wine in it was not reduced. Do not order the Coconut Pana Cotta, it's not good at all.

Brutal - As soon as we sat down the waiter asked for our drinks, app, then entrée.....then when the apps were brought, we didn't have silverware or napkin. Food was less then average. Will not be going back, or recommending.

The Bellmonte has the potential to be a great restaurant but needs refinement in several areas. We ordered the cheese platter as an appetizer and wanted 2 salads next so the kitchen sent out hers but mine didn't show up for another 5 minutes.
We split roasted brussel sprouts which were good but the papas bravas had too much sauce.
Our waiter started out good but disappeared for most of the evening and they weren't really busy so not sure what he was doing?
Not sure if I would go back.

We ate upstairs as downstairs was EXTREMELY noisy. No attempt is made to moderate the acoustics. Menu was good but limited. Service was fine.

Saw bad reviews, but tried it anyway...First time I ate there was excellent. Second time, I suggested to friends we go to Belmonte. Was awful. The food didn't even look like the same food that they served a couple of weeks earlier. Some of the food was inedible. Reservation? Ha... Like an hour behind schedule. Service slow. Stinks! I was so excited to find a new restaurant, but it was really just a tease. I now know why the reviews were not good.

Booked table through Open Table, received confirmation and reminders and were informed upon our arrival that they do not use Open Table and there was no reservation. They were able to seat us anyway, but in the less desirable area. Everything went down hill from there. Service, menu, preparation, presentation and taste was just eh. Not awful, but certainly mediocre at best. Chose it based on a favorable magazine or newspaper review, but certainly not accurate. Much better suited for a younger crowd more interested in the bar than the food.
