The Bell Inn is a beautiful 18th century Inn, independently owned by the same family for over 250 years. Located in the heart of the New Forest, just 1 mile from the M27 (J1), and is the ieal picture-postcard spot from which to eat, sleep and play - steeped in history and rustic, countrified-charm.
Step inside and you"ll find an Inn rooted in tradition with open fireplaces, flagstone floors, elegant lounges and a comfortable bar for everyone to meet up and enjoy - including man's best friend!
Our chefs are busy creating fabulous, seasonal food with local ingredients and delicious game coming directly from the family estate's. Understandably we're proud of our four-star AA Inn and one AA rosette recognition.

Forest pub with rooms and a golf course. Newly refurbed about a year ago. Tastefully done decor. Adequate room for 4 on the table. Attentive waitress and wine waiter. Good food locally sourced and a bit out of the ordinay although check what you get as my lamb had no potato on dish and had to order seperatly.Well cooked and tasty food and sweets also inc a taster set of 3 smaller sweets. Nice touch. Was informed that the 25% discount for using a Brand New Forest card now not running .Pretty good value overall.

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience for the 2 of us. The service was terribly slow and the food overpriced. Starters and Dessert were fine but the Main course was a real disappointment for both myself and my partner. I had Chicken and Bacon Kievs with 'potato two way' and kale. Although I could see garlic was present, it added little to the overall taste. 'Potato two way' consisted of mash with some plain crisps. I've never seen this before and it seemed somewhat bizarre. If The Bell Inn think they have a USP here, they certainly failed especially as this was quite a pricey menu. Positives? I've been to The Bell Inn a few times and I like the ambience and the feel of the place. It's comfortable and more upmarket than your average pub. In summary then, nice as a pub but there are better places to eat.

Supposed to have dophinouir potatos with my dinner and the fave horrible fried potato with out telling us they had run out! The chicken was bland and tough so I left it! The ham hock was full of gristle! Was not impressed for the money I paid!

Had a lovely walk in the New Forest with family, followed by a very tasty Sunday roast in the Bell Inn. The ambiance was great, as was the service. We will definitely be making the trip for another visit soon.

Chose this pub as had the nicest menu in the area as we wanted to visit the New Forest. Cannot have been happier with the location - great service from the bar staff and the waiting staff, good value for money and the whole ambience of The Bell Inn meant we had a wonderful time. We will be back again and again.

This was the first time at The Bell. We were very impressed by the surroundings and ambience. The food was of a high standard, restaurant food. The wine menu was more limited though. The garden was very nice for an aperitif. Staff were delightful. The service however was exceptionally slow, 40 minutes from our order for the starter to arrive and a similar wait for the main course. After waiting 20 minutes without success for the dessert menu to arrive we gave up on pud. Other tables we noticed were also waiting a long time. Because the food and atmosphere were so good we will definitely try it again though and hope the slow service was unusual.

The first time we have dined here and were pleasantly surprised with the decor and general ambiance. There was plenty of space between tables which we really appreciated. Food was excellent and our only comment would be that it could have been hotter when served. I asked for different vegetables with my roast and excellent alternatives were served which I really enjoyed. Looking forward to a return trip.

It was Absolutely magic it was a surprise for my Husband s Birthday and all the Staff were amazingly helpful and attentive Thank you for a wonderful overnight stay 😘❤️
