   The food choice is a varied. The flavours were fantastic. Our meals were great followed by delicious puddings. I would highly recommend The Bell at Hardwick. Lovely evening for my wife's birthday.

   If there was ever a reason to support a local pub this is it. Three of us visited on a Saturday night. It was quiet which suited us on this occasion but felt welcoming, well run and the surroundings are perfect. We had calamari, pate and garlic bread to start. All very good. The rib eye steak was well cooked and the sea bass fillet was the biggest and most succulent we’ve had for a while. The pub has promise to be a rare gem and we will be back to support it.

   We have eaten at The Bell on numerous occasions in the past and always been pleased. We hadn't been for 6 mths so I am not sure if there are under new ownership or what has changed but the food this time was very poor. 3 of us had the short rib beef Sunday lunch and had asked for it to be served pink. This order was taken by the waitress but when brought the table it was very well done. When I questioned this I was told that was the way the chef cooked it because not everyone likes it pink. I was somewhat surprised and having eaten Sunday lunch out for decades being able to have the beef pink is quite normal and not special request. The rest was also disappointing the vegetables were few and far between - very tiny portions .2 tiny pieces of carrot and cabbage. I had two very small roast potatoes, which were very good but I had to order more - which I was charged for. The Yorkshire pudding was good but the gravy considering it was beef was beige in color - more like a chicken gravy . We did have desert which was Sticky Toffee Pudding and Apple crumble - both were good. The staff were pleasant and accommodating but I certainly wont be rushing back for the food!

   Great little village pub with quaint historic appeal, the food is great with great service, large variety of drinks for everyone's choice. Definitely worth a visit

   Our meal was disappointing. The waitress was not aware that one of the items ordered was not available until several minutes after we had ordered. One drink was not as requested and two meals were only satisfactory, the other two were good. Ice cream requested for dessert was also unavailable and the size of the scoops at £2.95 each were small. Service although we were the only diners sitting inside was very slow.

    Had a lovely relaxing meal. Very attentive and nothing too much trouble. Some where to catch up without without getting uninterupted.
