The Beetle and Wedge Boathouse is tucked away, and perfectly positioned on the most stunning part of the River Thames. The setting is like no other riverside venue which means you can switch off, unwind, and enjoy your precious time with us. The Beetle has played a huge part in many lives over the years and is steeped in literature history, from the Wind in the Willows, to Three Men in a Boat and not forgetting HG Well’s Mr Polly it has truly fascinated all that have discovered its true beauty. Our owner, Ben, has ensured that its character and charm has remained while adding his own magical touch.

The Beetle and Wedge was a superb choice for Father's Day lunch. Sitting outside on a summer's day by The Thames watching the boats go by was just perfect! The food was delicious with a good variety of starters, mains and desserts. I can imagine dining inside in the winter would be just as enjoyable as the decor and setting are ideal! The staff were very friendly and attentive but we didn't feel rushed at any time. Will definitely return for another visit!

A disappointing visit for an anniversary meal, having been before over the years. The crispy duck starter which we both had was not crispy but solid, tough and much overcooked. Hardly edible, but this was taken off the bill. Main course Gambas were in shells which was covered by the sticky source so very messy to eat and again charred and overcooked so meat dry. Ham hock main OK but unexciting - accompanying greens salty and forgot my fries side order. We decided to call it a day so no dessert. Waitresses helpful but no apology from any else Expected better.

As always, a wonderful lunch by the riverside. On a sunny day I can think of nowhere finer.

Bought my parents for lunch as visiting them for the day in Goring. I bought my Labrador retriever with us and we sat out by the river. The food and atmosphere were great and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I have never seen my dog sooo relaxed!! And as I now live in Somerset I was very pleased to see Thatchers Cider on the drinks menu !!

I decided to take friends here who had travelled to see me. We were not disappointed. We had a very friendly welcome. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Great location and proposition, we went for Sunday Lunch, great table, on the patio by the river, perfect! Service generally good, a little slow overall, but Sunday lunch is a busy period. On to food, starter was good, main courses were good but only good. So food quality is good, but I’m not waxing lyrical about it. Some dishes could have been served hotter. Shout for the desserts, they are solidly good!
