My fiance and I were there for a pre show dinner date. The wait staff was attentive and recommendation was good. The atmosphere was jovial. Very nice spot for pre show dinner.
Great lamb stew, live music, staff was very friendly and prompt.
Great live music!
The food was very good. My friend had several modifications to her salad and the chef got it perfectly right. Grilled the chicken or perfection. We had a seat up on the second floor by ourselves which made for the perfect catch up. When taking our order the waitress was a bit flustered when my friend was listing the modifications which was slightly off-putting, but all in all, it was a lovely place to eat and I will definitely be back again!
Traditional bar and grill...nothing too special. Was hoping for a more standout dinner considering all the options Boston has to offer. This wasn't it...
We come here when The Finns are gigging here. The Irish food is by far the best. We got the nachos tonight and a lot of people were ordering them so clearly they’re popular. We felt the chips and cheese ratio to the other items were unbalanced. We would have appreciated more meat and beans and maybe peppers and onions too rather than more chips and cheese and I would have preferred more guacamole as opposed to the mound of sour cream.
Brunch was delicious!
Lamb stew and Shepard's pie were so good! Looking forward to going back soon.
Ok stop before game. Typical pub food.
Met here with a group for dinner because they have vegan-friendly options. Our meals included: fish and chips (very good but lots of breading), shepherds' pie (awesome but very hot and needed a take-home box), Atlantic salmon (made dairy-free), calamari (great, light, crispy), Mediterranean snack plate (delicious), espresso hazelnut martini without Kahlua was good. The acoustic music was nice but a bit loud, but we had a booth at the back which was better than the front of the room. AC was inconsistent on a very hot day and the lights seemed very bright/warm shining on us. But, overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our visit.
Really nice pub with food and a dedication to live music. Had an excellent Bluegrass brunch with what I assume were Berklee students playing some excellent music. Room has a lot of character, with old photos and posters of music greats of many genres on the walls. A nice old pub with high tin ceilings. Food was very good, from homemade cornedbeef hash w/ poached eggs to a top-notch grilled cheese that was on crusty sourdough bread. Service was very pleasant. Highly recommend, they deserve more brunch business.
Lovely, fun and open, especially fabulous were the Irish fiddle players. Food and ambience were great too! Our waitress was very helpful and service was good!
It was a little early for such loud music. We were there to catch up and couldn’t bc it was too loud for. 6 pm dinner. Maybe at 9 pm the music would have been nice :)
Good pub food, great atmosphere. Would recommend if you're seeing a show in the area or want some live music with your dinner!
The food was pretty good, but a tad expensive which is to be expected of a touristy area. I liked the atmosphere with the live band and the service was really quick.
Terrific and terrifically-friendly establishment. Went on Tuesday night when they had a jazz jam. Clearly some regulars there but we were warmly welcomed as "irregulars" by the staff and performers. Wait staff was particularly friendly and accommodating. Music was very good and fun. Really applaud the establishment as a whole for being a music-centric venue that pulls from and celebrates the local music talent particularly given its location in the midst of two of the best music conservatories in the country.
We were a party of 3, we sat upstairs. The noise level was extremely loud, even at 6pm. The drink menu was very limited and the drinks were not that good for the price. The food was just okay. The live music was good, although I would prefer it not be so loud as it is a small place.
Love the live music but it did add to the noise, obviously! I would choose a different place if noise is important but we were looking for somewhere fun and lively which this is. The food was quite good for the cost! The service was a bit slow but the servers were very conscientious.
Two of us ordered the cod special. The sides were delicious but the fish was disappointing and way too salty. However the music was great and not so loud that we could t hear one another (we sat upstairs). Good beer selection and friendly wait staff.
One of the great things about The Bebop is their promotion of local musicians. David Arteaga hosted The Jazz Jam, his band played then he hosted any jazz musicians that stopped in to play for the evening from 8:00pm - 12:00am. Many of them were from Berklee College of Music.
Stumbled across The Bebop the other day on my way to the Red Sox’s and I have to say I fell in love with the place and just had to come back! Got the nachos as an app along with the delicious Shepard’s pie and my friend got the steakhouse salad. The staff and music really made the night 10x better. I will definitely be back again soon!
Friends recently recommended The Bebop to me, and I decided to try it out tonight for the first time and man am I happy I did. I went out with my boyfriend and he got the Filet Mignon, which we ordered medium rare and came out perfect! I went for the steakhouse salad and that was amazing as well! I loved the ambience in this place. It was so comfortable and cute! The service was good as they gave you space but all our needs were attended all night. Ill defiantly be back! If you want something a little different then your average bar or restaurant, this is totally the place!
Simple, easy, hearty and fast. It is a central location, affordable with a friendly atmosphere. Perfect place for lunch.
I stumbled across the Bebop during my stay in Boston. It’s a neighborhood gem with live music every night of the week. Open mic was on during my visit. It was awesome and the talent was amazing. I’m guessing they were students from the nearby Berklee School of music. Caroline my server, who was so sweet, mentioned they have a great line up of entertainment all week long. I can’t wait to return and hear some more.
The menu had great variety which made it a little hard to decide but I opted for the mussels to start and then the Guinness lamb stew. Both were delicious. The mussels were amazing. The sauce had a little spice to it. I had to ask for more bread to soak it up as I didn’t want to leave a drop behind. The stew was hands down the best stew I’ve ever had. The lamb melted in my mouth. I will certainly be coming back for this again.
They have a great drinks selection. So many beers on tap, a great selection on wines and cocktails. I went with a glass of Merlot with dinner. I only planned on having the one but the music was so good that I didn’t want to leave so I had an espresso martini after dinner. It was the icing on the cake. I can’t wait to return to the Bebop.
This is one of those places that makes you feel immediately comfortable. They have live music seven days a week and it’s always something different. Place attracts a great crowd and the bartenders and so fun. Definitely will be back again!
I first heard about The Bebop on my Aerlingus flight home to Boston. The gentleman beside me on the flight recommended this establishment. He was true to his word.
This place is awesome! I had the Lamb Stew. The portion size was extremely generous. My husband had the filet. It was cooked to perfection. We passed on the drinks but there seemed to be a selection to suit all needs.
The staff were upbeat and the service was flawless. Having Irish staff adds to the authenticity of the restaurant. The Kilkenny bartender wrote a list of things for me to do on my next trip to Ireland!!
There seemed to be an old timey session happening on the stage. The live music really added to the whole experience. I think I've found my new local!!
Maybe it was an off night. We'd never been before. It was very hot, we were squeezed into a very small space and we waited 15 minutes for water and drinks. Our appetizer took 45 minutes and when our entrees arrived, one of them was not hot at all. When we ordered another glass of wine, we got the wrong wine. We felt bad for the waitress, who was clearly in over her head, through no fault of her own. The insult to injury is that we'd chosen the Bebop because Berklee Performance Center had recommended it. Too bad, because it seems like a cute spot.
Great value, excellent fresh salads; good ambience with music.
We went with a large group for dinner. It took over an hour for our food to come and we were constantly low on drinks - at one point my husband went up to the bar and had to ask to have the water pitcher refilled. Several of us ordered burgers, and when they arrived they were on wheat toast. The kitchen had run out of buns and there was no apology.
Our waitress was very nice and trying her best but it was obvious that they were under-staffed. We would go back as the ambiance and live music was fantastic but we would stick to drinks at the bar.
Bad food. Slow service. Its a bar. Not a restaurant
Much more bar food than I expected, was looking more for a good lunch but it was still good, the wings are awesome
I likely won’t go there again because it was just too noisy. I came out with a sore throat because I had to shout at the person I was with because of the high noise level.
Great place for a quick bite or to hang out for hours. Great live music early too, they looked like students and they were very good and entertaining. The place gets very busy at times so make a reservation.
Food was poor, service was poor, seats were uncomfortable tables were sticky, and music was too loud
Friendly. Fun. Great music. Good food. Irish cider. It is loud. The space is small. Surfaces hard so sound bounces. But if you are looking for music, this is a great spot.
Loved it, totally authentic!
So happy that I was able to find a place with vegetarian Shepherds Pie for my St Patrick's Day trip to Boston! They also had an Irish folk band playing. Loved it!
I had one of the best salads i've ever eaten -- the Greenhouse (?). Fresh, really tasty, satisfying.
It was REALLY noisy (6:30 on a Friday eve), but my ear plugs helped...
Had a lot of fun. Small and great atmosphere. Loved the drop in musicians, crowd ranged all ages. No rush to get in and out. Huge portions
