   Good service and nice selection of menu options. The hardest thing was making a decision! Excellent value for money too.

   I'd not been to The Bears Head for several years but was delighted to find it was just as good as I remembered. Lovely log fires and warm welcome and a great menu to choose from. The soup was delicious but could have done with a little more and possibly more bread. the mini puddings were also a great idea however the Eton mess was substantially cream and very little else which was disappointing. We will be back though.

   I have just moved to the area so chose this for a bank holiday family lunch. The food was amazing and we be returning very soon

   Excellent food nothing is too much trouble, great place for Sunday lunch or an evening meal

   We have been going to the Bears Head for a couple of years for special occasions. They must have a new Chef because the Sunday Roast Beef was red and 2 people at the table didn't enjoy it. I couldn't eat mine and swapped with someone else. The latest trend to serve red meat isn't to everyone's taste. The parsnip was so al dente that I couldn't cut it with my knife!! I thought I was just being picky, so didn't complain.

   As frequent customers, we found that there were several items on the menu that weren't available. This happens every time we dine at the Bear's Head. This is poor organisation, spoiling what should be an enjoyable occasion.

   I am a regular customer of the Bear's Head and have been coming for several years. The food is generally good, and the service is generally very good. My only criticism is that very often items that are on the menu are not available. This happens too frequently to be acceptable.

    Accomodated a wheelchair easily no stairs if using the pub area. Sarah our waitress was very helpful. Lovely food. The meat platter for 2 was huge could have fed a small army
