   Food was fantastic. Enjoy the variety of small plates. Portion sizes was good & cocktails excellent. Best rum punch of the holiday so far!!

   Extremely disappointing. We have eaten at the Bearded Rose several times in the last 2 years, but this latest experience was not good at all. Unless they improve, I would not be surprised if this place closed within a year. The welcome we received was atrocious. There were 4 waiters chatting. And none of them made a move to assist us on entry. We stood waiting and waiting . I had to ‘interupt’ their conversation to ask for our table which was of course l had reserved . One of the waiters checked the reservations book, then disappeared and never returned! Finally a lady checked the book and seated us, somewhat reluctantly. Shocking display of incompetence. The restaurant was very quiet for high season in Barbados. Most good restaurants in this area are full every night in February. Our waiter was efficient but not very pleasant. He certainly struggled to show any enthusiasm. The food was tasty, but the portions were simply ridiculous 0n the small side, and not cheap. My wife ordered one slider, and she opened the bun and the patty was no bigger than a coin. Laughable. Unfortunately we did not take photos as we were with another couple we had recently met, so a bit embarassing. I have no idea what management are thinking, as this type of service and portions is not sustainable in this high end market. Sad, but we will not return until we hear of marked improvements.

   Dreadful service, appalling attitude from untrained and rude staff. Avoid. Our waiter spilt a pint of beer all over me from the tray. Hair, face, dress, phone, handbag all covered. No apology. No acknowledgement. Nobody in the restaurant came to assist or apologise. Went to two staff at the check in desk to explain what had happened and to say we had to go home for me to shower and change. One looked me up and down - beer literally dripping from me - then went back to looking at her phone and the other said well if you leave you have to be back before 9 to order food, then turned away. Hilariously had an automated email from them asking how our meal was. We replied but no response- no surprises there.

   Overall it was a great experience but I believe the serving portions need to be adjusted. There’s no way that was an adequate amount of calamari for tapas. Especially at that price point.

   What a shame : The Bearded rose was one of Barbados’s best dining experiences. A true gem. Sadly the new menu format is not as attractive and the quality of the food is by far inferior to what was previously offered . It no longer can justify the prices they charge for what they offer.

   Wonderful menu, full of unique flavors and well priced options. The bar and ambiance were amazing. Service was great!

   Prefer the old menu. A bit disorganised, some staff quite surly - really surprising as this isn’t usually the case. This was always my favourite place to go but only been once in 4 weeks this trip and would usually go more.
