Modern Vineyard Cuisine inspired by our Indigenous roots. We proudly sit on the traditional land of the Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation. Our inspiration for the name of our new signature restaurant comes from a chaptik story passed down through the generations of our First Nations people of the Okanagan.
The Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and we’ve taken their stories as the inspiration for the name of our restaurant: “The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry,” based on the story of the Four Food Chiefs.
The Four Food Chiefs are central: Skimxist Black Bear (chief of animals, representing self-sacrifice, leadership, giving), Ntytikxw Chinook Salmon (water creatures, perseverance, hard work), Speetlum Bitterroot (plants below the round, relationships to the land) and Seeya Saskatoon Berry (plants above ground, growth, strength, community) are legendary and the elements of indigenous cuisine.

Very nice restaurant. Our waitress Inga from Poland was delightful, efficient. and personable. Unfortunately our table was in the corner with no view but we did go on the deck after our delicious appetizer of clams and dinner of beef braised ribs. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly.

It was our server’s first evening on the floor and they were clearly nervous, shaking hands and sweating brow which is understandable. They had a limited understanding of the menu nuances. In our heightened awareness of hygiene and Covid it was rather disconcerting to see the server cough on their hand while at our table and not cleanse afterwards. The food presentation was lovely, two of us had halibut which was overdone. The fish was dense and meaty rather than sliding off as we took our bites. Which was disappointing for the $45 price tag. The view was lovely with fantastic views of the lake and valley. Not sure I would go back.

We visited the property back in February and had a fabulous breakfast. We came back to experience the meal again but this time we didn't receive the the lovey plate of danishes and I had very little smoked salmon on my eggs benedict. It was good but it wasn't fabulous like I had in February.

We were kind of disappointed. My husband had the halibut, which was outstanding. My rabbit, not so much. Presented in a ceramic lidded bowl, I was expecting food on a plate. A stew type thing, but the meat was not tender, and should have been bite size not in big chunks The broth was not particularly flavoful and too thin in my opinion. Overall quite underwhelming.. The desserts on the other hand were spectacular. We decided we’ll come back just for those. Service was fine ,although our waiter had such a thick accent it was not till the end of the evening that I became used to it enough that I didn’t have to struggle. We’ll try again for lunch

It had been a while since we had been here but the food still did not disappoint. Flavour, presentation and timing all perfect. First time dining since the renovation as well and it is a relaxing and understated decor which works perfect and frames the views from the large patio doors. As is with most places staffing can be an issue and there were obvious trainees but were expertly guided by seasoned staff. Overall a superb night out.

Restaurant on Resort. Had the three sisters salad and returned the next day for take out of same salad. The charcuterie board was delicious and the bread was perfect for this type of service. Great place to eat and wind down with a glass of wine.
