The Bear of North Moreton is a welcoming village pub in North Moreton, South Oxfordshire that dates back to the 16th century and has always been the heart of the village. We offer a humble menu of traditional home-cooked pub dishes, using the best local producers and seasonal ingredients. We serve a range of ales, beer, and cider and have a small and curated wine list.

There’s a large beer garden that backs onto the village cricket pitch, and we hope to open up the Aunt Sally pitch soon.

What a disappointment. Whilst the food was delicious when it finally arrived, it took an hour and a half for it to reach the table. At the prices they're charging, that's just unacceptable. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, had accepted too many bookings and just couldn't cope with the demand. The Bear has great potential - a local pub using local suppliers with really friendly staff who last night were let down by their manager - but until they get their act together I would not recommend it.

Sunday lunch was not as good as it used to be. The beef was very rare and chewy.

Starter got put on a different table, which was fine, they made it again but by the time it came it was an hour later and 4 mins after the starters came the mains came which got cold or just not hot, service and staff were good but they should of offered to take the mains off the bill because the Burger was burnt and reasonably tasteless, however I didn’t raise it at all on the night so accept some of the blame, but I wouldn’t go back. We only went there because we had been to the 5 pigs in Wallingford which they also run which was great and absolute chalk and cheese to The Bear It was a shame, think this is the first ever negative review I’ve ever left

Our first visit since a member of our family was diagnosed with coeliacs disease. We were put at ease with their friendly assurances that procedures were in place and as such we all enjoyed a fantastic meal- still dreaming of the buffalo cauliflower bites . Thank you for being so inclusive and we ll be back

Was running late, but the publican called me to check that I was still coming and he held the table which was very welcome.

Best Sunday roast out in a long time! Huge selection of veg, delish Yorkshire puds, best roast potatoes ever and most flavoursome gravy. Loved it!

Food was very good and some nice twists meaning that it’s never boring or ordinary. Service was exemplary, friendly and polite. The 5 Little Pigs philosophy is very envied t and welcome. I gave 4 stars rather than 5 because my Rarebit starter was not quite hot enough and as a result it went quite cold quickly - small point but I’m just being honest.

A fantastic pub with fantastic food and even some cocktails on the menu. Wonderful cosy atmosphere and marvellous service. The roasts are divine and the I want to try all of the starters as they are all so good. Highly recommended!
