The Beacon Butcher Bar is a labor of love from Tina Houston, owner of Reid’s Café & Catering Co., established here in the High Country since 1999. The Beacon is located in the heart of Boone, NC adjacent to the iconic Water Wheel. Just as we value beautiful ingredients in our catering, The Beacon adheres to a similar message.

In the kitchen, we value the fashion from scratch details as small as the aiolis and dressings we use, to the housemade desserts and pastries, cured and smoked meats, and naturally fermented pickles. Behind the bar, we strive for innovation and discovery from our unique and inspiring cocktails. We work within the seasons of the Blue Ridge to present a deliberate and thoughtful menu. We love the intentional, the specific, the well-cared-for.

Respectively, our market offers a unique selection of local goods and treats. From our featured cloister honey to housemade single origin chocolates, we present the craft and exceptionality of local, artisanal talent.

Please join us for the official High Country Jazz Festival After Hours on Friday and Saturday June 13th & 14th from 9:30 PM - Midnight. Hosted by the legendary Todd Wright and featuring local and guest musicians. Late night food and beverage menus accompany candlelight Jazz Jams. Free and open to the public and no reservations required. We also encourage joining us for Dinner from 5 PM - 9PM [reservations encouraged}.

First time and we loved it! Will be back often. Food was outstanding, reasonably priced. Service was great, nice ambiance as well. They had live music and it was awesome.

Great menu selections. Service was terrific, friendly but professional. Very helpful and knowledgeable explaining menu items and preparation. Plate presentations were very nice. Food was well prepared and delicious. Many of the items were prepared with Calabrian chili’s or chili oil, which I thought might be a bit too spicy, but really added a great depth of flavor to the dishes. The only “drawback” for me, personally, was the restaurant was a bit noisy. Definately going back.

This was our first time here- but it won’t be our last The food was amazing and Abby was a thoughtful and helpful server We are delighted to find another place to enjoy a great meal when we’re in town

This restaurant is very cozy with a fireplace and great background music. The food was great, too.
