We love the beach club overall. Our last visit was not good, the waitress was not good. Typically we are happy with the beach club.
This was our 3rd dining experience in the last 6 months at the Beach Club and for the 3rd time it was terribly disappointing in so many categories. My husband is mad that I keep insisting we go back... I was hopeful it’d be better! Our server was sweet and kind, but slow and incompetent. There seemed to be no communication between the kitchen and the servers; they were out of so many things we tried to order (mocktails on menu for my pregnant sister; short rib croquetas; risotto; airline chicken; salad dressings, etc). But our sever never knew of any of the items the kitchen had 86’d. The lobster cobb salad I ordered came without salad dressing and I was told they were out it and could only offer blue cheese or Italian dressings. Our drinks were often empty for 30 minutes, with no one coming over to refill waters or ask if we’d like to order more drinks. At the end of the meal, 2 1/2 hours later, we requested to speak to the manager about our dining experience. Jacob came over and was horribly rude. Truly insulting! No apologies were made; a simple “I’m sorry this didn’t go well” would’ve made matters better.
I’d like to offer some grace and give 2nd chances; we all have “off” days. But after this 3rd terrible experience at the Beach Club we are done. There are other excellent restaurants in the Iowa Great Lakes area that deserve our business and I know we will be treated better. We will not come back to the Beach Club anytime soon and will indeed be sharing our disappointing experience with others.

Meet friends there to celebrate a birthday, the food overall was amazing. We had one who wanted a well done steak, not pink in the middle we sent it back and they made a new one and it still came back pink. He ended up taking it home, so I felt back. But it was truly a treat. Our waitress is great and played along with our corny sense of humor and Hannah made sure my gift certificate was ready so there would be no problems at check out, I greatly appreciated that also.

The Beach Club is a really neat restaurant and the food was outstanding!
Food and ambience were great. Made reservations and were seated right away. However, every single time we’ve eaten here or sat at the bar, the service has been terribly slow. Our server didn’t greet us for 12 minutes! The bartenders need to learn how to balance talking with guests at the bar and making drinks for other people who sit at the bar. They also need to make sure they getting drinks for the servers tables. We were seated for 25 minutes before we got our first round of drinks and in that time, watched both bartenders chit chat with each other, multiple guests, and cleaned the bar. I’ve worked in the service industry for 15 years (the last few years had been in Miami which is huge on customer service) so I understand some days are crazier than others, but I haven’t had a great experience here once. It’s a bummer because I love the atmosphere, the food and the ability to have nice drinks around this area. The second drink I ordered was not drinkable - the bartenders looked young so were potentially new. I would advise a team training to discuss how important it is to balance friendliness with guests while making sure you are being efficient and getting drinks out in a timely and accurate manner to new guests and the servers. Maybe a bar back/busser for weekends would help the flow. Or a have 3 bartenders on weekends - one of those specifically to make drinks for servers while the other two bartenders man the bar seating.

The food was like something which was prepared by someone who is just getting into cooking. Steak tips were tough, and the only seasoning I could decipher was a little soy sauce. Veggies that came with it were undercooked.....they maybe spent 2 mins on the grill. The other people at the table felt their meals were meh. My bloody mary was very good tho....and the staff did a nice job decorating the cookie ice cream desert for my son's bday. Staff was very friendly, but everything took a long time and there weren't many customers there on a mid-week evening.

Our food was very good - the menu is limited though. We have gone to the Beach Club a dozen times because the food is so good. The first half dozen times the service was horrible; one time we sat at our table for 30 minutes before anyone even brought us water!! This last time we had a very good waitress; she didn't always get to us, but we could see she was very busy. The online reservation app is awesome (the Beach Club never answers their phone so you can't call them for a reservation). The food is overpriced: we had their special last week - it was $45 for their special and it didn't even come with a salad! It is very loud in the Beach Club - I don't know what it is about the room but it is hard to talk to the people at your table.

When people go out for supper they like to be treated special. Remove those little tables in front of the kitchen swinging doors. It's an insult to expect to be seated there. All customers expect service and comfort.
Brunch menu is very nice. French toast was excellent. Pleasant atmosphere on patio.
They were terribly unorganized and overwhelmed! They told us they were overbooked and even though we had reservations he said “I’m not going to lie, we just don’t have the tables”. Eventually he worked it out but it was a hassle. The service was super slow! Or reservations were for 645, we did not leave until 845. People were walking away from their tables because they were so frustrated with service. The thing is, I LOVE THEIR FOOD!!! Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Okoboji!!! So I guess you just have to decide if you care more about service or eating food you enjoy! We will always go back, but just go knowing you can not be in a hurry!!!

Our experience at the Beach Club was awesome. From the time we were seated to the moment we left we had a great time. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The four of us all commented on how well we liked what we got. The wait staff is well trained and attentive but not hovering. While the venue is not on the Lake, the view is mostly of trees and flowers or nicely kept buildings. There is history to this hotel/restaurant and the menus and indoor decor take you back to another era. We loved it...have been there three times and will definitely go back next lake season.
Very good dining experience. We requested outside seating due to Covid-19 and tables were well space and we felt comfortable out there. The music was cool-Louie Prima, Sinatra and Dean Martin... Nice quiet evening--louder atmosphere inside. 5 Stars really. I asked for medium on the steak and it was a bit past that, but still very good with excellent flavor. My wife had a mixed drink that she really liked and her meal was excellent too. Our server did a very nice job--very attentive. Chances are, you'll like this place!

We had a reservation for 10am. We finally had someone come take our order at 10:30. Didn’t get water until 11am, so we left. The waitress was clearly overwhelmed and very rude. We left hungry and upset to see 7 other tables served before we even got water. They clearly weren’t prepared staff wise for a holiday weekend.

Ordered the long rib special. Serve explained knowing about the special. It was listed in 24 speciality drink menu. Unfortunately according to serve it is listed in correctly in the only place that describes it. You don’t get to pick your sides. You also don’t get to substitute sides or even have them told to you until you ask don’t I get to pick my two sides. It was also my wife’s birthday and they did nothing. There is many other restaurants in area I would recommend one of these
It was awesome as usual- 6 of us all loved our food, loved that they take reservations for both inside and outside seating.
Dinner was great. Small Valentines menu but everything was great although the brussel sprouts were a little mushy. Fun time.
