The Bayou Bethlehem Ratings and Reviews
We had a family dinner while visiting family in town. My son and I were visiting and it was the best meal, service and overall experience we had dining in Bethlehem. In fact it is on par with great dining establishments in our home town area of Newport Beach, California. Great service, patient (late dinner, we were not rushed to get out), awesome food! I highly recommend The Bayou!!
Great Southern/New Orleans cooking! Excellent choices no matter what you are in the mood for. I had Shrimp and Grits which had just enough kick , shrimp were tender and grits smooth. Other half had Buttermilk Fried Chicken, pickles and savory smashed sweet taters were perfect as sides. Cocktails are intriguing and work well with the spice of the food. Will return soon!
First time at The Bayou for our anniversary and everything was great. We had a reservation, were seated right away, very relaxed atmosphere. We never felt rushed like other places on a Friday. Bayou Burger and Brisket PoBoy were delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Food was excellent! We had steamed clams and fried oysters for our appetizers. You need extra bread to sop up the broth with the clams. So delicious. Oysters were perfectly prepared with a great remoulade sauce. I had the steak which was delicious. My husband had the red fish; which he hadn't had since the last time we were in New Orleans. Perfect, perfect, perfect. Drinks are delicious. Always have to have something different. Service is great. What a wonderful belated Anniversary lunch. Can't wait to go back and try something else.
Always awesome at the Bayou! Pretty quiet on a Tuesday at 1:45!! We got some small plates that were just perfect for lunch!! Service is always excellent-the wait staff is extremely friendly, and a manager always comes by to check with us on our experience every time we are in!
We decided to sit outside as it was fairly loud inside. The weather was perfect and we ended up enjoying the ambiance on the patio even more. They exceeded our southern comfort food expectations and we plan on revisiting soon with more friends. HIGHLY recommend the pork belly and fried chicken (of course).
This was our second time eating here and both times we've felt disappointed. We thought we'd give them another try after about a year, but the flavor was lacking. 5 out of 6 of us were not happy with our meals. Everything looked great but really lacked flavor.
Ate here for a first date. The service was prompt, nice decor, lighting, atmosphere and football! My date enjoyed his rather large and tasty cocktail, and jambalaya and shrimp po boy sandwich were well seasoned and delicious. We enjoyed our time here, and would return.
I've been here before and the food has brought me back a number of times. Went for a date and enjoyed a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The drink menu was good, as were the drinks. The food was excellent, we got the fried chicken, the gumbo, jalapeno grits (fantastic) and the cornbread. Couldn't find anything in the food I would criticize. Came for some good southern comfort food, and I'd say we got just that.
The food at Bayou is fantastic, and totally unique to the area. They smartly recognized that there isn’t anything resembling southern (or more specifically, Louisiana) food in the area and made that their specialty. Everything on the menu is amazing, and since they’ve opened their fare had only gotten better. If it’s your first visit, get the fried chicken. I’ve yet to have better fried chicken anywhere. It’s second to none.
My fiance and I decided to try a new spot for our date night. I hear the Bayou was great, so we decided to try it. Perfect choice. I tried the Maple Peach Sour, and it was fantastic. We had corn bread as a snack, I am not a corn bread fan but loved this one. I had a crab cake, and my fiance had the brisket po boy. Both were absolutely delicious. Then for dessert we had the peanut butter moose, and it was beyond amazing. We loved the atmosphere and everything about this restaurant. We will be back for sure
Excellent po-boys, fries, and Mac-n-cheese. Nice beer selection and very good mixed drinks. Disappointed with the pork belly. I’ve had this at high end restaurants in the past, The Bayou’s version tasted more like crispy grilled pork loin. We did mention this to the staff, and appreciated that they removed it from our bill. Regardless, we will be back in the near future!
We went there for dinner prior to an ArtsQuest show. Service was very quick and waitress was helpful with recommendations. We shared the Johnny cakes with confit chicken and quail egg and Brussels Sprouts with Tasso and blackstrap reduction. Yum! And the small plates were not particularly small. Then we had Oyster PoBoy and friend chicken sandwich. Also great! Beer selection eclectic and excellent. Highly recommend!
