The Bay House Ratings and Reviews
It was our first time going there and we were all pleasantly surprised from the moment we stepped in when we could sit outside in a relaxing atmosphere to wait for a table to be ready, To hearing live music and some dancing happening, and to a great table and expert service and delicious food. It was our sons birthday and they surprised us with an amazing dessert for all of us to share!! Everyone was very attentive and the food was excellent !!
Four of us met for dinner; my wife and I were the first timers. Our waitress disappeared for at least fifteen minutes and was not in a good mood when she finally returned. Fortunately, she brightened up later on. I ordered a Carpetbagger Steak and thought it was excellent. That was the only highpoint for the evening. My friend had the same dish but for whatever reason did not enjoy his. His wife's salmon was fine, though she noted her vegetables were not well prepared. The real downside was my wife's crab cakes. She only ate one and complained it was tasteless and had no lump meat. I finished her dish, and the crab cake appeared to be made from claw meat. I did like the bed of jicama, but the crab was very disappointing. My Caesar Salad was chopped and tasteless. Who chops a Caesar Salad? How does one produce a tasteless Caesar? All in all, Bay House did not come close to providing the quality we expected and dear wife and I will not return. Too bad as the setting is nice.
We really enjoyed having a drink out by the fire pit before having a wonderful dinner. The lobster appetizer was so good my wife insists she will have it for dinner our next visit. Our daughter hadcthe bone-in pork chop and it was exceptional. Our server, Annie, did a great job. We look forward to our next visit!
The place is very attractive with a large firepit near the entrance where you can sit and have a drink. There is live music in the bar which is a separate area so you aren't blasted with the sound while dining. The dining room view is overlooking water which is very nice. Service was excellent. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. The food was great. The menu is comfotably broad based and made unique by a talented kitchen. All in all it is a delightful place
This was my second visit to Bay House. We were not disappointed. We sat outside while it was still light out, and the view was wonderful. It was quite enough to enjoy a conversation. The food was wonderful - St. Augustine Stew and Scallops. The service was great - attentive but not intrusive. Bay House remains in my top five Naples area restaurants.
Make a reservation and enjoy. You will not be disappointed.
The Bay House is, was and I think always will be one of the better restaurants in Naples. We ate in Tierneys Tavern, which is more casual than the dining room. There is entertainment with good music but not much room to dance, which is a shame. The menu is the same in both the dining room and tavern, with the exception of the burger, tavern only. Service is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Valet parking is available. The food is very creative modern fare with a southern flair. I definitely recommend it.
I’m really not used to write bad reviews but I really think it is necessary ! We had dinner to the Bay House with friends from France who came to visit us...my friends asked some questions about the menu and the waitress seemed to be very annoyed and didn’t hide it .. Then we ordered a bottle of wine and my glass was completely broken.. I noticed it by chance otherwise I could have cut my lips as the whole was just huge ... No excuses, nothing ... the waitress changed my glass and that’s it ! We Ordered a starter to share, as we were 4, so we ordered fresh shrimps as we thought it would be enough to share between 4 people... the waitress did not even tell us there were only 6 shrimps... very disappointing ... the following went ok except the waitress who was in a hurry to see us leaving !! Not even the time to finish the plate she would take it away .. the same for the wine .. we just finished our glasses she took it away as well ... from the beginning until the end, never a smile... finally we didn’t even have a look at the dessert menu as we were very upset with the service... we preferred going back home to take our dessert and were very disappointed by our experience ... the price doesn’t worth the quality of the service which is a shame for a high end quality restaurant like this !
I am sorry to say we were disappointed. We have been there many times over the years but the last time was 7-8 months ago. It was good then. It almost seems as though they have changed their business plan to cater to a lively, upscale bar scene at the expense of fine dining. The menu was limited. Food was OK but the oysters-on-the-half shell were not even good. Not spoiled - just not good. The server made an error on one of the entrees. That is not a huge deal because everyone makes a mistake but it was just one more thing. It too bad because we will not be returning and this was one of our "destination" restaurants.
The Bay House was as always ,extremely nice. We had a window table and watched activity in the water throughout our dining experience. Our waiter was pleasant, knew the menu and the wins and was attentive without overwhelming us. All in all, very nice evening.
