The BarnYard’s licensed restaurant and bar is situated across two areas within a stunning fairy-lit oak beamed barn with steps leading down to our beautiful patio where, in the warmer months, guests can dine alfresco listening to the sound of water trickling from the pretty copper tree water fountain. We have also opened our elevated decking area for diners during the summer months where you can enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding orchards.

As members of Produced in Kent we celebrate local and seasonal produce and our chefs are proud to source the very best in Kentish ingredients wherever possible, a theme that runs throughout our menus. We are even prouder of the fact that we have produced on site many of the ingredients that we use in our cooking from daily freshly laid eggs from our BarnYard chickens to our own BarnYard apple or pear juice, pressed and bottled directly from our award winning orchards.

We enjoyed our lunch and drinks and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The man taking payment at the end was equally friendly even though lockdown would start in a few days.

I booked the special Afternoon Tea for which you had to pay a deposit. I called several times and always went to answerphone. They returned my call twice but unfortunately I was unable to answer. Then the day of the booking I called again 3 times, again went to answer phone. I left a message saying I could take a call after 1045hrs. Then at 0930hrs they called me and left a message saying I had to ring and pay the deposit before midday. By this stage I was panicking as it was to be a special treat for a lady who had been very poorly. So I called again, answerphone yet again! When I eventually got through at 1215hrs, the person who answered the phone said oh don't worry about it! I was pretty angry I must admit and I was going to complain when I got there. However upon arrival the staff were so lovely and so was the food. Obviously just a problem with the management!

Lovely setting & friendly staff. Service was a bit muddled & it’s a little pricey if you want to drink but overall a nice place.

Excellent in terms of Covid safety.
The food and service were exceptional, as usual.
Such a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, we already have 2 reservations over the next few weeks.

love the ambience and the service was good. The web site had paninis and other less expensive lunch items on the menu which when we got there they were not doing so only expensive lunch items left. £9.95 for sandwiches and chips and salad rather than separate . So no light lunches really. Quick lunch cost £15 with drinks. Please do have some lighter less expensive things would be my advice so I would then come again as I liked it there.

Our table was booked for 9.30am, we ordered Bubble Eggs Benedict and the Bubble Stack. Both meals were excellent, the poached eggs were cooked just right. An all round enjoyable experience

Good menu . Strict covid management made it feel safe. Wait for mains was an hour. We were warned it may take a while but felt this was too long. Staff helpful. Nice to go for lunch .

4 of us for sunday breakfast. It wasnt very busy. Food order taken and drinks brought. Food seemed to take a while coming. I had Eggs Benedict. It was brought out by the waitress with serving gloves presumably because the plate was hot. Mine wasnt. The food was just warm. My poached eggs weren't runny. I think mynpkate had been sat on the pass for a while. One thing I hate is hot good not being hot enough. Didnt complain at the time. 2 full cooked breakfasts and egg and avo on toast was my other companions choice. We had a couple of coffees each. £60 for breakfast. We dont mind paying for good food but it was somewhat disappointing especially for the price. Not sure I'd rush back. Had lunch here with friends about a month ago. That was just about ok too. The Barnyard used to be lovely many years ago. We used to visit regularly but with no farm shop or deli now it hardly seems worth visiting. Lovely place for a wedding though. Beautiful barn.

Very pleasant surroundings, easy parking. Thought they handled the Covid restrictions well, staff all wearing protection. Tables decently spaced apart.
Food was good; the menu was more restrictive than before, although understandable in current situation.

Lovely to be back at The Barnyard again. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Although the pandemic has meant a change in the way things are done, everything was made to feel very natural. A great experience and we will be back.

Quiche was fab but Greek salad could do with being a bit larger. Crumble and custard with ice cream was lovely. Our first time there but we will definitely go back soon. Outside looks lovely for the summer

Had a lovely lunch at the barnyard, good atmosphere, I felt safe, plenty of sanitizer for customers to use. The covid 19 QR code was well positioned you didn't have to search for it.

Love the Barbyard but after requesting twice a vegetarian high tea with no egg sandwiches was asked if I wanted fish to which I replied no, then they served the food including egg sandwiches.
We were not checked on during our time and got to the point where I had to ask for more tea which I wasn’t comfortable getting up to ask due to current restrictions.

It was lovely to be back at the BarnYard after such a long break. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and we enjoyed a delicious Sunday Lunch. We were with my 90 year old mother and staff were very accepting of her needs. Very sorry to hear that George is leaving but wish him good luck for the future.

We went for lunch and had a table outside which the restaurant has been practicing the social distancing well. Supplying hand sanitation stations and signage throughout very well. This was our 3rd visit as a local venue to us.
The service however still needs improvement, we waited quite some time for our order to be taken, when it arrived there was no apology for the wait (40 mins). We had finished our drinks and no offer to replenish them we had to ask. The staff are polite and pleasant but not attentive enough, they focus on one thing at a time but there is not enough of them to feel that you have a good enough service. They walk past without checking on you or being observant to you trying to get their attention.
The food this time was disappointing: Olives and hummus with "rustic bread" came with dried out olives and plain part baked sliced baguette 4 small pieces not enough for the pot of hummus to eat half the pot. The baked brie with rosemary and "black pepper crostini" came with the same tiny slices of part baked plain bread and 3 slices again not enough for the brie and very bland.
The main course gammon egg and chips was cooked well and tasty, the naked burger and salad was pleasant and wholesome.
Again service poor as no drinks offered, and the cutlery used for the starter was not replaced and had to ask for more after being left without any.
The meal and drinks was £45 which we feel would have been fair had the starters been what they should have and the service was better.
Lovely venue. May not be back for a little while which is a shame. The breakfast is delightful and Sunday lunches very tasty that we have had in the past.

We returned for lunch here on Saturday as part of our 1st anniversary weekend as we got married here last year on the 14th September. The food was lovely as expected and although the staff were wearing visors, everything else’s about the experience was perfect. Always happy to return, and recommend.
