The food was wonderful. Superb, fresh and seasonal ingredients are prepared with skill. Great to see fava beans, white asparagus and super PEI mussels on the menu. The wine list is a thoughtful combination of choices from a variety of countries. We enjoyed a Reiussac ( famous for Sauternes) Sauvignon Blanc blend which was excellent and went well with everything from white asparagus soup, to mussels to scallops, and it was fairly priced. The service was efficient and agreeable. The Barn is a comfortable, attractive space and one feels welcome.

The Executive Chef Roxanne is amazing. The service is ALWAYS consistently good - there are no bad waiters. Her food is always consistently exquisite. I have never had food there that I did not love. The drinks are interesting - really interesting - they are unique and fun and add to the experience. I love eating at The Barn!

Walked into an empty dining room with a 6 pm reservation for 2. We asked for a 4 top table, and were told that it was not possible ,as they all were reserved. The was not true, 4 tables, including ours, were the only ones used. We left at 7:30 pm. VERY POOR judgment by the hostess. Then, NO MENUS, really? We are over covid, and if you are going to ask a guest to scan a menu, the House should provide tablets so guests can see without squinting at you cell phone. There was only 1 server for 15 tables, no manager preset, unless he was one of two guys standing at the side of the Bar, joking with the Bartender. Excellent Server, Food Runner-Busser and Great Food. As a Chef with almost 40 years in the Hospitality industry, this was very sad. We will not be back.

Beautiful setting, wonderful wait staff, still need a few tweaks in costumer service (ie had to wait a long time to get my credit card back after paying for the bill as the machine ‘went down’) Portion size relatively small - beautiful to look at, but don’t come with hearty appetite.

Dined there for our Mothers Day dinner. The restaurant is beautiful. The food was good enough, but steak ordered medium rare came out mooing. The fried chicken was great, with the fried pickles being the best part of the dish. THe prices are a bit high: $7.95 for 1/4 baguette and butter and $17 per dessert (even though the chocolate chip cookie was delicious) as examples. But, it’s a great place for a special occasion when you’re not worried about opening the wallet.

We have loved eating at the post since day one and for over ten years. We have participated in many breakfast lunches and dinners as well as stayed over night and enjoyed yoga classes . This past Sunday on Mother’s Day our experience was such a shock not only for the fact that it was so underwhelming in food service but compared to it past excellence we were stunned. In particular, the person at their welcome table was exceedingly rude when checking in . We We’re early 14 minutes and they said they could not seat us ( there were five tables open inside and four outside ) we sat outside in the cold as they didn’t want us to wait inside. I went back in 12 minutes later to say how cold we were and if they could please sit . I was then sternly talked to and told to wait outside and they would get us . The Manet and tone that was displayed was of an angry in graceless teen not a hostess at an upscale country inn restaurant. The food was on a simple menu and simple requests of toasted bread came with no substitute given , request for fruit - no request for side veggies - no - omelette instead of two eggs - No . The disappointment is the place could still be a 12 out of ten as it used to be but this effort to charge at premium pricing is relatively easy given the pretty physical space and location but they really need to be more customer focused and they staff needs to be re trained and polite. Their dishes need visual appeal. Their playing as well. The quality of food was good the menu needs to have a little wiggle room and basically a great need to replace the hostess before you loose another family that has been customers since Gere opened.

Food unusual, but not to my taste. The asparagus soup was thick and a bit salty, and had a bitter taste in it. The cod was ok, but the dandelion greens bitter. And, the olive oil cake was good, but I didn’t care for the saffron ice cream. The place is very pretty, the wait staff very attentive, but it took a long time for the food to come out. Also, the techno music was a bit loud and became a bit annoying after a while.

Food was mediocre. My poutine was barely warm when it came. Some of the ricotta fritters were so undercooked that there was raw batter in the center. The stark tartare was good and the kids had waffles and fried chicken which was good also. But, it was underwhelming for the price. I would rather go to L’Escale for brunch.

The food was just fair, the charred octopus was overdone and chewy, the edamame was oily . But the biggest issue was with the entree. Informed the waitress that I had a severe shellfish allergy upon ordering . I ordered the steak frites, she came back and informed me that the frites were fried in the same oil as the crab Rangoon and said “so you will only get steak on the plate” to which I replied “ could you substitute with something else , maybe a vegetable instead ?” She said yes, but when the bill came I was shocked to see that we were charged $12 for a side of vegetables . Inquired as to why we were charged especially due to my medical issue and she rudely stated that’s the policy and walked away. My husband ordered the lamb which was fine but only once he cut away the 2” ring of fat that was left on the meat . Honestly for the prices we expected much better . They also require you to order your entire meal up front , this meant that our entrees were brought to us before we were even halfway done with our appetizer. The only positive thing was the bar staff. The 2 gentlemen were very professional , friendly and welcoming . If we go back it would only be to stop in for a drink as that was the only positive experience we had for the night.

Great menu, innovative and well executed. Service was good. By 8pm, upstairs is very loud and crowded. Care taken to make birthdays and other events special…offered complimentary glass of champagne. Nice touch. Note- no lingering. We were asked to move on (as admittedly we were taking our time celebrating a milestone birthday)….I wouldn’t say we were rushed….but when done…they nudge you out to move the tables. Lovely dinner. I’d come back…but would book non-prime time and sit outdoors in warmer weather.

This is a super-charming country restaurant that's re-invented itself to good effect. As locals we've been several times in past (pre-covid) years and are glad to have it back - in shining form. The setting is country-pretty - cosy beamed-room inside, lovely patio outside but the real pleasant surprise was the food. A more imaginative menu (albeit for Brunch), picture book plating and delicious. Friendly but effective service. For a casual afternoon - and probably evening - this place is a gem.

We were excited to try The Barn, as we had held our daughter’s wedding at The Bedford Post, and our experience was great, food was fantastic. We were very disappointed: grilled octopus was the only good plate among all of our appetizers and entrees. Pasta was tasteless, steak was tough. Wine and beer selection was good, but didn’t compensate for our “meh,” overpriced meal.

This is a chaotic, overbusy venue which attracts a young crowd too liquored up (the drinks menus is an important feature ) to pay much attention to what is being served. Oysters were good, but with so many NY State purveyors why import all the way from PEI? Nothing I ordered was good enough to rate a return—especially with a genuine gourmet venue like La Cremaillere 15 minutes away. Never again!

Unfortunately, my family's Easter Brunch experience at the inn was extremely disappointing. We had dined at Bedford Post previously and had a wonderful meal, so we were expecting nothing less than what we had experienced that first time around. Our Easter Brunch couldn't have been more different. The service was underwhelming, the food was AWFUL (dishes came out cold, the flavors didn't make any sense together - the white asparagus soup tasted like hot mustard...??), and the overall feel was lackluster, especially for a holiday. Will not be dining here in future, sorry to say.

My first review, because I had to. I’ve been eating at great restaurants in the area for a long time and there are some very good ones. I finally found a great one. My family and I ate dinner there and it was such a great experience, we came back the next Sunday for brunch. The food was an experience… the Michelin star is well deserved. The service was friendly, comfortable and impeccable. Can’t wait to go back. The deserts…omg. The chicken and waffle for brunch?! Wtf. It was unreal. Same prices as Farmer and the Fish, but wayyyy more creative and experiential.

Mediocre. Definitely not anything special. Really just above pub food. Waitress told us we had to submit our whole order up front. Unsurprisingly, the second couse arrived within a minute of our first. Our mains arrived within two minutes of our second even though we asked that they not be fired until our seconds had been cleared. They have a Michelin logo on everything but this not very good. If you’re expecting a pub experience you’ll be fine with it.

The Waiting time among dishes was too long. The menu by itself, nothing special surprisingly. The temperature of the food was unacceptable. A meat complete cold. And finally, a restaurant that doesn't understand the business, and forgets that the client is trying to enjoy an experience, and NO RUSH should be. The waiter came with the check without our request, and basically they through out to all clients because the wanted to close (and much more before 10pm)

The is one of the BEST local eateries to Northern Westchester County- if you want to travel up a scenic country road to a destination of NYC-quality food nestled in the charming small town of Bedford- you’ve found it! Chef Roxanne Spruance has quite a resume, her dedication to excellence is shown in the quality ingredients used to prepare the beautiful dishes they put out each evening. It’s a seasonal menu without daily specials, so doesn’t change often for locals who like to dine out a few times a week, but you can count on everything being fresh and a current assemblage of local and uniquely paired ingredients. The portions are not large, but they shouldn’t be, the balanced plates ensure I never leave hungry. Their house-cut fries are a great little add for the table with your entree- enjoy!

The cocktails are as delicious as those in the city, the seafood is amazing, and we love the seasonal changes in the menu.
