The setting is stunning and every care is taken to keep diners stay and comfortably distant!
Grossly overpriced for what you get.. 26$ fir a glass of wine that sells for $28 per bottle is absurd...it’s taking advantage of the consumer especially those of us who dine there frequently.. won’t be such a great patron any longer.. the entire choices are not great
Simple but top quality - no wonder they are getting a Michelin star. Waitress (Catherine) and all the wait staff were attentive and efficient and made the experience exceptional. They made a big difference. Only complaint is a simple one - still not sure why we had to ask for a nicer table when the “best” ones were available the whole time we were there and yet we were shown to the absolute worse one first (right by the entrance). We’ll be back!
I was not impressed with the food. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The appetizers were OK, but the entrees were not good and had no flavor. The food was not noteworthy, I was surprised. The service and ambience was good.
Outdoors at the Barn — The greeter at the podium was unaccommadtibng and cool, which set a less than welcoming tone, though our servers were friendly. The food was fine but unremarkable, served a bit cold, though the wind may have been partially to blame. The wine was served long after the entrees arrived, which was an unwelcome distraction and disappointment. The charge for a “lower level” scotch shocked us when the bill arrived, at easily 2x a typical price even at expensive restaurants (the spirits menu was the only one not accessible on the online menu … hmm). Not rushing back.
Absolutely gorgeous setting, warm and friendly staff and delicious food and drinks. We will be back very soon. Long overdue evening at Bedford Post!
It was great but a bit understaffed
Great food in a great location with lovely ambience
Good drinks, goods deserts, but food nothing special ( don't order the scallops)
Staff nice and friendly we had a good experience just the menu was limited.
We were very disappointed with our dining experience at The Barn last evening. The quality of the food was nothing special and the portions were very small and very overpriced. We had diver scallops and a roast pork dish. The scallops consisted of only 3 for $37, which was outrageous. The pork was 4 or 5 small medallions for $32. We had a side order of asparagus. It took an hour to receive our entrees, which arrived ice cold. The dollops of butter on the asparagus were hard and not at all melted. We had one drink, vodka on the rocks, which consisted of too much ice to be able to drink the liquid without removing some cubes. The vodka was maybe an inch in height. When the bill arrived we were shocked to see the $17 drink charge. We have been to many wonderful restaurants, but The Barn at Bedford Post was definitely not one of them.
Hostess is always great to see. She’s so accommodating.
A little pricey
the food was so phenomenal and the staff was so friendly. it was very expensive however
The food was amazing and you can really notice the fresh ingredients used. The food and setting is an easy 5 stars. The mixed drinks wete also great but a little on the weak side.
I like the outdoor setting, very comfortable and properly distanced for safety reasons. Surrounding is beautiful and the food was delicious! The only thing is that there were no pastries such as chocolate croissants that used to be offered at this restaurant before changing of chefs. Hope some day the pastries will be back.
Dining at the Bedford Post has had its ups and downs over the years, but it is finally being run by an accomplished and competent chef/owner. There are few places to enjoy an elevated dining experience in the area - so it is a relief to have a consistently superb dining option in the Barn at Bedford Post. I can’t wait for the the rest of the restaurant (patio, fine dining) to open up in the coming months.
The outdoor space was beautiful, service was excellent, food was great. All in all, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to friends.
The hostess was great. Our heat lamp wasn’t working so she brought 2 near us. The server was wonderful as well
Loved the place and since I had traveled an hour and a half from Long Island to get there, it was well worth it! So nice of them to seat me and my friend a bit earlier than our reserved time as they knew that we were both traveling. Wine by the glass was a bit pricey but still wonderful. Food was delicious as well.
Great meal. Service was perfect. The outdoor seating is to shelf.
Outstanding service & food !!
A treat to be outside on a nice evening with all the lovely lights. Very relaxing and well spaced out table set up. Service was attentive but not rushed at all. Such delicious food and creative cocktails. We wished there was bread to start but that is a small thing.
It is a beautiful setting on the patio and the food was delicious. We will return soon.
Excellent food, kind and attentive service, lovely outdoor patio seating. Had a great evening there!
When I arrived for my reservation, which was for two. I was told they would not seat me until my companion arrived. They offered me a bench. The restaurant was not full. Food was ok but not great. Servicer was very nice but seemed overwhelmed and was not attentive. When we weren't immediately ready to order he dissappeared and didn't return for another 20 minutes. The outside patio is very pleasant and there are ample heaters. Overall simply ok. Will not be heading back.
We went for our Anniversary and everything was just wonderful! The patio, food and service was great. We will be returning soon and have already recommended The Barn to many of our friends!
portions, especially appetizers, were annoyingly small, especially for the price. Looked like they were ordered of a kid's menu. Skimpy side of "frites" with the steak frites entree, burger should have come w fries or some side other than a tiny pile of greens on the plate with it.
Also, menu is overall challenging-rather limited, and what's on it is of limited appeal. Lucky to find one appetizer and one entree.
service was slow and amateurish--forgot part of our order, needed to be asked multiple times for water, etc.
This is a beautiful setting and could be much better than it is by tweaking the menu a bit and being a little more generous in portion sizes
Always a lovely evening, so lucky to have The Barn nearby.
I feel so comfortable here. The whole experience from food to service to atmosphere, wonderful. I actually don’t dine out unless I can come here.
Excellent service . How was wonderful. Food amazing and delicious as always!!
Great outdoor brunch spot! Loved the food and setting.
The wait is over! Finally!! The all too familiar carousel of notable and not so notable chefs and would be restauranteurs that tried to make a go of it at the Bedford Post has thankfully come to an end. Luckily for all of us who live in the area, Roxanne Spruance has taken over as chef and owner and the results so far are incredibly encouraging. Chef Spruance is a fearless and creative force who simply gets it when it comes to running a successful restaurant and her determination and passion to reestablish the reputation of Bedford Post dining is clear the moment you meet her and watch her work. The menu is fun, inventive and has something for everyone. From delicious Brandade Biegnets and a Blooming Onion with Spinach and Artichoke Dip to Georges Bank Diver Scallops and Steak Frites the menu is rich in seasonal and regional options. Pastry Chef Luke Deardruff shares the passion for creativity and fearlessness and the options like Dark Chocolate Pudding Cake with fresh mint ice cream and the Rhubarb Pavlova with Lime Curd are the perfect ending to great meal. Welcome Roxanne Spruance & her team. Finally someone who gets it!!
best food since a long long time.. and the service is exceptional! Will be back!!
It was a preset menu so I can't really hold that against the restaurant. That being said the fried chicken was flavorless and the wedge salad had almost not toppings making it just a wedge of iceberg on a plate. In addition to that it's currently outdoor seating and when booking i was told there would be heat lamps and blankets to make sure we weren't cold. There were lots of heat lamps that were wonderful, but it seems one table had commandeered 6 of the blankets they had available so no one else had blankets for the rest of the night. Another table got up and went to get camping blankets from their car. It was a little ridiculous to advertise something when booking but only have about 6/8 blankets for 30 seatings for the evening.
They made us wait in the cold for 40minutes because our table wasn’t ready. Then at the end they made us wait another 30minutes to give us back our check. It was freezing cold outside (outdoor dining due to Covid) and the food they served was equally as cold: freezing iceberg wedge, cold fried chicken, etc. No warming drinks on the menu or warm food. The dessert was the only thing that was warm and yummy.
Fantastic outdoor dining, great food and staff. Super festive and very warm!
Everything food wise was great, service was slightly slow, everyone extremely nice though. The only very off putting part of our experience was the sound of a very angry, condescending female chef that was obviously having a bad night. Every time the indoor door was opened we heard her spouting off at someone. We felt bad for the staff!
Had a great time at The Barn. Beautiful setting outside - charming and beautiful with lights! Food and drinks were excellent. Highly recommend
