The balcony seating and the view was excellent (though the chairs were uncomfortable). The food was disappointing, especially the steak filet; it was not very tender or tasty and for $42 was served with only fries and asparagus. The fried chicken was OK. We were not offered any bread.

The restaurant's location is absolutely beautiful and the location along the the historic Yellow Breeches is breathtaking. The food was good, not very good. Our server did admit he was very new to his role, but he did not review the specials and was not very attentive. Do not order the Old Fashions, the $16 cocktails were serve with ice machine cubes, they arrived watered down and ruined in my opinion. We were also "fortunate' to receive the end of a bottle glass of Reisling that was full of sediment, beyond what is customary. I do feel that the dining value was on par with what I expected. The appetizers were very good, Brulee'd Brei and Beet Root Humus were excellent, although the french bread crustini was a bit overdone. Bottom line, go with plenty of time to wander the grounds and wait for slow service. The dining was a reasonable value and the menu was inventive and fresh. Be cautious with your orders from the Bar, stick to bottles.

We normally thoroughly enjoy eating at The Barn, but were somewhat disappointed this time. They had done some remodeling of the restaurant and it now has a long bench seating area where they have crammed three tables for two and one table for four. It was a tight fit and when we first arrived we were seated at the second table in the row and within the next fifteen minutes the tables to either side of us were filled. The problem with this type of seating is if they’re too close and you have someone who doesn’t understand quiet conversation, you struggle to converse with the person you came this. I’ve been to upscale restaurants that have this type of seating, but there was a much more reasonable distance between the tables. I can tolerate this at a place like Red Robin, but when you go some place to have a relaxed dinner, not so much. Maybe they would consider losing one of the tables for two and spread the tables a little. If you go there and they try to seat you here, I’d ask for a different area.

Enjoyed a great Brunch experience on the outdoor patio. Very attentive service, and a delicious menu to choose from, both breakfast and lunch items. Also, the server/kitchen was very accommodating to slight recipe change requests (mushrooms instead of bacon for the Eggs Benedict). Always an enjoyable experience.

Most of it was pretty good. However, when the salad came to the table we order ranch on the side but the dressing was on the salad and a vinaigrette. Our granddaughter tried eating but did not like. At the end of our meal, we asked for a replacement salad to take home with ranch dressing on the side. Once again, the dressing was on the salad and not on the side. This was not discovered until the next day. Thank you

We had a wonderful brunch at The Barn at Allenberry! We started with a Bloody Mary and mimosa at the bar and then on to the dining room where we had the fried chicken sandwich and fries! Totally scrumptious! We will be back! Service was great also!

Food was excellent. The barn has gotten a new chef about a year ago and it is made a tremendous difference. One of the best places to eat in Central Pennsylvania. Excellent value.

Allenberry is always our go to place for outdoor dining and special occasions. On this night we had excellent service, the brussels sprouts were amazing, the cauliflower steak was very very good. However, the shrimp and crab scampi was more like noodle soup than the traditional scampi recipe I was expecting. We attempted to use our $10 gift card for Allenberry however, due to a change over in their computer system, they were unable to honor any gift cards. Thankfully, it was only $10. In hindsight, it would have been nice to know before ordering that gift cards were no longer being honored. As it is now, the servers are expected to explain that to the diners. I’m sure that’s awkward for them.
