The gimmick of the wall projections were low quality, one side of the wall was broken when we went for one of the locations. The food was terrible and overpriced. The drinks were small and overpriced. The warning signs to avoid this cash grab were there but we thought we'd give it a shot anyways, would not recommend.
Cover charge and price of drinks is offensive. $31 + tax+ tip just to have a glass of wine?? The atmosphere is cool but NOT that cool. So not worth it.
Prices are out-of-whack and borderline insulting considering the overall quality of the offering. $32 cover charge just to reserve a table for two… why?! $16 for a watered down cocktail, $16 for a plate of lukewarm fries that took 30m to arrive, I expected a mellow chill atmosphere and received thumping drum’n bass that I had to shout over to be heard. To differentiate the *entire* experience, they should create a custom ambient soundscape that transports guests, not just another bump-and-grind playlist. I do appreciate the uniqueness of the wall projections and the overall “experience” concept for a night out, but the execution needs a ton of work.
Very beautiful place. my only draw back was the drinks being served in plastic cups.
It was an amazing chill experience.
Very disappointed over rated food not good too expensive
Ehhh...Overpriced drinks and the scene at the bar only changed 3 times...It was neat but I have no desire to return.
Was asked if I had a reservation and was seated promptly after confirming. Ordered drinks and meatballs. Drinks were delicious. Meatballs were cold. Received an email later stating I had missed my reservation. Was very confused because I had stated I had a reservation prior to being seated and had asked if I would be charged the cover charge if I had made a reservation. Hostess confirmed that I would not be charged if I had made a reservation. Overall the place is nice for a little date night for drinks and experience, not for food.
Chill vibe. Great service, food, and drinks. Would also be good for a small group meetup. Loved it.
No reason on a Saturday night that the kitchen closes at 10:45 when the bar closes at 12am. It’s tapas food not 3/5 course meals.
When I originally booked I was charged $16/per person and the instructions stated that the money would count towards food and drinks at the bar. When we got there we were told that the $16 was just an entry fee so just beware of the bait and switch.
Very cute ambiance. I visited with friends for birthday cocktails and food. Surprisingly the food was very good. The pricing was decent. The host were friendly, attentive and work mask.
Definitely a vibe!! I shall visit again.
The ambiance sells the venue, however the plating is a bit large for the size of the small table. Also, while the wings were delicious, the tacos were soft, mushy and not appetising at all! Would recommend, but please consider smaller plates and it taco stands or hard tacos instead of soft.
I had the opportunity to visit the bar and the exhibit. The exhibit was underwhelming, and I felt overpriced. I want to say the bar experience was a lot better. In my personal opinion, I think they should expand the bar to make it bigger so more people can come and visit. Our waitress was fantastic and very attentive. I want to say to the visitors there is a cover charge, so don't be surprised. In my opinion, if you are going to charge me like a club, please have a live band or a DJ. Overall, it was worth a visit, and I will come back.
We had a reservation for 1030, and waited in line until 1107pm when we were finally ushered in to our table. The ambience was nice (about 5 virtual scenes running on loop on the surrounding walls, and they were interactive). The food was great and the drinks were strong. Our server was AMAZING!!! It's a small space so it's not overcrowded. The music was popular songs, spanning various decades. The plans they have for this bar are interesting, so it will be even more interesting to see if and/or how they pull it off. I would recommend going, and then again after they've been around for awhile...
Not worth the hype and Just because you have a reservation does not mean you’re going to get in on time
I got there at my 10pm reservation to only stand in line for an hour. When I told staff that I had a reservation I was told that there was large parties and trying to get everyone out before letting people in. What is the point of making a reservation when I have to stand in line for an hour? I gave up and left so I never got to go in and enjoy the experience that I paid for. I’m very unhappy with this because it’s non refundable. Horrible customer service.
For the cost of the overall After Dark Experience the management teams need to revamp the experience. Food Menu is substandard for high end venue appeal, drinks menu need to be revamped as well signture drinks to match the vibe... The illumation experience within the bar venue is limited and should be expanded with more themes as well a staff need to be more tour guide concept and attire is definitely an issue for the staff (change needed). Decor inside both the bar and the experience needs remodeling as well. Alot left to be desired
Save your money! It wasn't horrible, but definitely not worth money spent. Even though you have a reservation time, you will still be waiting at least 30min outside to be seated. Once inside we waited another 15min before a waitress came to take our drink order. For $15 a drink, they were just ok. Food came out and was room temp at best. Not alot of menus items to choose from. I was definitely expecting something more upscale.
Set reservations for 8:30 and didn’t enter until 9:25. Food was marginal and service was nonexistent. Would not go again.
I made a reservation for 2 people 2 weeks in advance and still waited in line for over 30 minutes. Our food and drink orders were taken not long after being seated, drinks came out quickly but waited an hour and a half for food that only came once we discovered our ticket got “lost”. We were not checked on while waiting on our food nor after we got our food and had to get a different waitress to checkout. The whole thing seems a bit rushed and unorganized.
We had a reservation at 10pm but had to wait outside for 15minutes before we were seated. I asked hostess what time kitchen closed and she said 11pm. We got inside and was seated at 1015pm. Waitress came over to our table and said kitchen was closed and that they were only serving drinks. My partner and I got up and left. Will not go back.
Absolutely horrible experience.
The food was delicious. I ordered the Chili Lime Chicken Wings....the drinks could have been better if you get them right away as you would if you went to the bar, but you sit and wait for the waiters to bring them and that may take 10 minutes if not more.
Much left to be desired. The cover charge was not well explained and after you arrive, you regret that you even paid it. Though this concept may be "trendy" it wasn't well executed. During your time, the background changes to 6 different scenes but the music does not match so you feel like you are in a room with projected images on a wall, not transported to that specific location.
Service and food was marginal at best. All drinks were $16 and came in cups that should have be no more than $8-10. Overall, I would not recommend
The experience did not match the advertisement. The food quality was inferior. I was given extremely dry burger sliders with ZERO condiments. The food did not meet my expectations.
Beautiful upscale experience. Would highly recommend for a date night ❤️
I need a refund i made reservations for 11 no one explained nor was it listed on OpenTable that the kitchen closes at 1045. We came for the full experience of the illuminarium and the bar. We walked in and out because of no food we had drinks at the show and want food. Why let us make a reservation without explaining the kitchen closing time and give the customer the option of if they would like to go in.
Food was awful. Sliders were dry, tacos tasted awful and dry, had zero flavor and there were hard pieces in my chicken in the tacos. People’s mask’s were on the floor along with napkins and trash scattered under tables. It took well into 45 minutes for the tapas to get to us. As soon as the food came, we ate a bit and asked for the check immediately and left. 45 minutes of just waiting for, not even a full meal, but tapas! I will never go here again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I am so embarrassed I took my fiancé here for his birthday. I wanted to cry on the way home and apologized profusely to him. This place is a cash grab and they should be ashamed to even be an establishment. And illuminarium is opening other locations? What an awful idea. 0/10.
The vibe of the bar is really nice. But the price of the food and drinks are too high. Service was really good though. If you're looking for a bar thats not ridiculously crowded, and just want to sit and enjoy company this is your best bet. The drink we got was good, the fries however we cold and soft.
We didn’t have food, we just came for drinks. Drinks are not good. Taste like artificial juice mixers and served in plastic cups. For a bar, and drinks priced $16 that’s very disappointing.
The space is very cool though the scenes are computer generated and a little underwhelming. Looks good in pictures.
It was a great evening because of the company I was with, my date. However, I was underwhelmed by only having two scenes to view for two hours. I’ve been to the Safari experience and loved it. I expected the illuminations to change just as they did for that experience. It would’ve been pretty dope to have the Atlanta skyline and other views from around the world. Great ambiance. Just expected much more.
We were shocked and disappointed it was a small room and the walls had one image that stayed on for at least 15 minutes and then a second image and it was just these two images. After going to the Safari at Illuminarium Atlanta‘s just very disappointing also the cover charge to get in was $15 a person and the drinks were $16 each it was just over priced for the experience.
Cool concept but a few things need to be addressed. We had reservations when we arrived we had to wait 10 min before being seated. No big deal. Then the waitress lost our drink order and after 15 min came back and asked again. Then took our drink and food order again. Didnt see her again till food order came out. After that didn't see her till we flagged her down to get our check. Hostess was nice and professional and did her best. Should go once......would not go back.
Cool experience and atmosphere but wish there were more than 2 scenes being displayed. Got a little bored and left early.
The atmosphere and the drinks were great! We didn’t order food so I’m not really sure how it was. When you get to the door you’re told you only have 90 minutes to be in there. Which I get, because of the crowd. I honestly wouldn’t have paid for the reservation if I knew there was a time limit. It took about 20 minutes before someone came to get our drink orders. Then another 30-40 minutes to actually receive our drinks. By that time, we didn’t have time to order another one because our time was almost up. I would not waste the money for the bar
If you are planning to attend this experience please note a couple of things:
1. The experience is different and is enjoyable. Prepare yourself to be mesmerized by your surroundings although the projection only changes between two scenes.
2. There is a 90 minute table limit. The wait staff was short staffed the night we visited which delayed the drinks and food, they did not rush us.
3. While the music choice does not go with the scenes, it was still nice music.
4. It can be underwhelming to some but it is still a nice outing and something different to do.
5. It is a BAR, keep that in mind and you will enjoy yourself. Socialize with your partner or group and have fun.
Giving it a 4 out 5 on whether people should visit.
The experience was amazing and the lights were really amazing. Unfortunately for a $15 cover the service isn’t great and the drink selection is minimal and is served in a plastic cup.
Let me start by saying illuminarium was awesome! My fiancé and I went for date night and the vibe was great! Customer service was awesome and the wild after dark experience was one for the books. The food was trash! We ordered fries and mini tacos (chicken) everything was flavorless!! The drinks were awesome!
The Bar at the Illuminarium would be a cool space if they didn't try to milk money. $15 cover. No tap water, must pay for bottles. $16 cocktails that were airplane quality and served in plastic cups. Drinks are too expensive and not good enough to hang out for long enough to get your money's worth out of the cover.
The space itself is pretty cool and fun to look at. It cycles between 2 scenes, a flower garden and a Japanese street. Its a glorified screensaver, but it makes for good pictures and was fun to look at. The music was really loud and clubby, which made it hard to talk and honestly took away from the immersiveness of the experience.
In the end, we found out they had a $2 beer special which allowed us to hang out longer without breaking the bank, and the food was pretty good. The space itself was cool, but I would not return or recommend it for the current cover, prices, and quality.
