Great place, our service this time paled in comparison to our last visit. Ambiance is wonderful but best if you’re outside on a perfectly cool summer evening, which we were not seated although it was requested. It’s a great spot but seems hit or miss.
Service was excellent! The food was amazing! The decor was cozy and modern - had an awesome time here with my family.
Great space! Friendly staff!!
The bar is very nice and comfortable inside. They have an upper outdoor patio which is covered...perfect for people watching across from Wrigley Field. The service was not so great. We waited 30 minutes then had to ask for a staff member to find our server. 15 minutes later a server came to our table, but I was already at the bar getting our own drinks. At this point the bar was almost empty of patrons, so there was no reason for this to have happened. After another half an hour or so, another server came by. She said that she was our server. Which means it took our actual server about an hour ad 15 minutes from when we sat down to come to our table. This is not acceptable. We were offered no comps, just a quick apology. The food was good. I wish the selection was a little bigger. Aside from the service, I would recommend it to others.
Wonderful ambiance, excellent food and great service.
We will definitely come back.
Great place for a before-game dinner in Wrigleyville. Perfect location. Somewhat limited menu, but otherwise good.
This place is always great and the servers are wonderful.
Great place before a Cub game!
Absolutely loved it. Our server Griffin was awesome!
We had 7:30 dinner reservations on a game day. We were seated in the area by the pool table and am guessing it was because it was much quieter than the regular bar where there were loud and over served Cubs fans. We were appreciative of the hostess decision to put us in that room but we were harassed by a very drunk person at the next table. The staff absolutely knew he was drunk based on their interactions with him (2 different staff members) but no one made the decision to STOP serving him and escorting him out. We were at the Cubs game as well so we absolutely expected to see fans at the bar as well. However, the hotel needs to consider how they handle overly exuberant fans, over served fans and those that cross the line. We spent close to $600 for the room, parking and dinner and it just sucked.... I must say that our server was great, timely and professional. Our food was great too. But.... we definitely didn't expect having to deal with the drunk next to us, after the staff knew he needed to be GONE...
It was too noisy...music sound be turned down. We should be able to talk at the table without yelling, but overall a great time.
Always a pleasant experience. Staff is friendly and very efficient
Loved this venue. Very warm and cozy on the patio and Wrigley Field is right there.
This is one of my favorite places in Wrigleyville. It is especially fun on game day on the patio overlooking the crowd and Gallagher Way. Service has ALWAYS been outstanding. Food as well. I will be back many times.
All out of Bloody Mary mix on opening day?!? Horrible preparation!
Absolutely loved The Bar at Hotel Zachary. We live in the neighborhood and were looking for a place with great ambience that we could walk to. Took our son, home from college for spring break, and he loved it too-a 20 year old and his "old" parents both liked the ambiance of a restaurant? How often does that happen? Limited menu but sophisticated pub food which was delicious. Our waiter was excellent. We sat at a table with super comfy seats but plenty of folks sat at the gorgeous bar, having dinner bar side. Lighting is perfect (I'm a nut about lighting-bad kills the mood.), music was lively and there was a lovely terrace with a fireplace with plenty of casual seating. The Bar at Hotel Zachary has a sort of chic, low lighting, industrial, upscale library/pub vibe going. Also spotted a cool industrial style long table with seating for 12 which would be a great place for a celebration. We will be regulars!
Fantastic food and drinks. We went there before a concert at the Metro and loved the ambiance and coziness mixed with elegance.
It was a cold, windy winter night and my husband and I were in town to visit our daughters. They both live near Wrigley, so we met at The Bar at Hotel Zachary for a drink before dinner. The room was so warm and welcoming, and the service so great, we ended up staying there all evening. We ate dinner here (was very good), and more friends ended up meeting with us there. So what began as a quick drink at 6:00 pm before dinner, ended up being drinks, dinner and friends until midnight!
Awesome new restaurant in Wrigleyville. Beautiful!
Went for my sister’s birthday, it was noted on app and told them while there, would have been nice if they brought a dessert with a candle.
Service was slow, maybe a few more servers and bartenders would be helpful at 7 PM on a Saturday.
Very disappointed in the food menu. For an upscale hotel and bar, the food choice is terrible for the amount of money you spend for your stay. This is nothing more that a "bar food" type of place at 10 time the price. I high price hotel without a decent restaurant is unacceptable. Also the waiter stayed watching us from about 25 feet away the whole time we were there. Strange..... Next time, if we stray there again, we will be going OUT for dinner. PS we are return customers.
Teddy bear tea
Teddy bear tea was a joke. The host seated us so late and nothing whatsoever was explained. They set us down and brought one tiny tier of food and then we waited again a long time. Then the one waitress working the room took our tea order and we basically got up and got everything else. Then we got mad it was so expensive and we got so little food to they brought the adult food which would have been fine had we known it was going to be out later then that would have been fine but we just sat and wondered. Then we wondered why we brought stuffed animals and that was never explained. It was just slow and dumb. At least the table of 8 next to us kept us laughing as they tried to steal the glasses and all to cover their 300 bill. The hotel is nice and the food we got was fine but it was so unorganized and we felt so unwelcome it was weird. Also there was a Mrs clause who read books but again no one explained anything and we missed that because we were waiting on food and tea. It just needed a host to explain and welcome and tell us what to expect. 4 adults and a kid with no drinks and a tiny tier tray of food was so embarrassing to me that I made people go.
great burger and ambiance :)
I made a reservation online but was unable to modify it after. I called and every person I spoke with (3 people) seemed bothered to have to help. The experience while at the restaurant was great.
Went for Breakfast with Santa. My only comment was where Santa was situated... in front of the window was not great as it was bright making the pictures dark. We asked if he could move to the chair by the fire place and he was so great with all our requests. I understand that it can get hot for him by the fire place so we really appreciated him accommodating us. It also made for a prettier background.
the Zachary never disappoints. I've had breakfast in the dining room , appetizers on the balcony and late night meals in the bar. All have been excellent.. The wait staff is attentive without hovering. I appreciate the historical details of the Zachary that are shared with my guests. Highly recommend.
Outstanding new eating place near Wrigley Field! Looking forward to going again soon!
