The Bank is Bude’s resident Cornish tapas bar set alongside the tranquil surroundings of the River Neet in North Cornwall.

We pride ourselves on our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, providing the perfect accompaniment to food made for interaction and sharing. With a variety of seating options to suit all, relax in our main restaurant and take in the stunning views from our uninterrupted glass wall over the Bude Marshes or dine in tranquillity in one of our private dining pods away from the buzz of the main room.
Just a short walk down our beautiful Bude canal and beaches, we welcome all to dine with us, stop for a quick drink or ice cream with takeaway options available to continue your stroll.

We have been used for a variety of functions from Weddings, Retirement Parties, Hen Do's and more with bespoke set menus to suit your party's essence and guests requirements. <br />We can also organise entertainment for your event if required and offer experiences such as bottomless brunch and cocktail masterclasses. <br />

It was a lovely evening made extra speedy the attention of the servers! Excellent service and they all were very helpful in changing our table, as we both wear hearing aids and we were originally sat under a speaker. They helped us choose the number of dishes and were generally very helpful. Would definitely go again! This was my 2nd visit . Thank you

Not as great as our previous visits but still would recommend visiting and would come again. The staff were great when we had an issue with a couple of dishes.

Quirky and fun - staff friendly and helpful, good beer on tap and great location. That said, food a bit mediocre - very overcooked (but almost cold) potatoes, other dishes ok but not memorable. Is go back but not really for the food!

Haven’t been to The Bank in a while but have to say the food was absolutely delicious, so many more gluten free options & being a Coeliac it’s so important that I have gluten free food that is carefully prepared & I was absolutely fine! We can’t wait to go again & try more dishes. The only disappointment was we felt the rose wine was expensive & didn’t enjoy it as love dry rose & this was too sweet & £10 for a large glass! No other rose option!! If you are looking for gluten free food cooked with fresh ingredients I cannot recommend The Bank enough so looking forward to our next visit Many Thanks Bobbie Strout

It is great to read you felt you had plenty of options to choose from and of course that you were in good health following dining with us, we take all allergies and intolerances very seriously and do all we can to ensure risks are as low as possible. We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy our Rose selection, we have a house Garnacha (Spanish medium rose), a Zinfandel (our sweetest from California) and also a delicate Cotes de Provence which is our driest rose option currently however, we are always looking to tailor our offering so thank you for the feedback to consider for our next wine list update :). We do hope to welcome you again soon and send our huge thanks again.

Such good choices and our selection of dishes complemented each other well. Pleasant friendly professional service , not rushed . My only issue is that although I like dogs , I’m not keen on having them around when I’m eating - particularly dogs unknown to me in a restaurant. I appreciate that it is nice for dog owners to be able to take their dogs out - especially when they are on holiday , I think it would be wise to have an area of the restaurant designated for such bookings, or at least an area for people preferring not to have dogs in close proximity.

Our family really enjoyed our visit to The Bank at Bude. Fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent throughout,(friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and helpful). The venue itself, with outside dining, is also really nice and adds to the experience, and being dog friendly was a bonus as we were on holiday with ours. I would definitely recommend the Bank at Bude.

Our first visit this restaurant has a lovely rustic look this combined with great service and delicious food will mean we will return as it’s now one of our most favourite places in Bude

A lovely venue with intimate seating as well as more convivial tables overlooking the river and greenery. Staff seemed genuine and keen to help. Sadly the quality of the food and cooking lets the experience down. We ordered a wide selection of tapas including manchego cheese (served with fig jam) which was the highlight, along with Scallops which were sweet and sympathetically cooked. The other dishes ranged from poor to really unacceptable. “Freshly baked bread” was cold and ate like cheap, supermarket baguette, albondigas (meatballs) were chewy, lacked flavour and were really unlike anything we’ve eaten in Spain. Why were they not slow cooked in tomato sauce until soft ? Serrano ham was “porky” and the olives had an odd flavour. The large green olives in particular had an off putting rancidity. The biggest disappointment of all was the patatas bravas. How can you get these so wrong? The skin-on, roughly chopped potatoes were greasy and dark. There was no crispiness and the bravas sauce itself had no flavour of tomato or pimenton. It was just spicy nothingness. So we thought that the triple cooked chips might be better. Sadly they were the same, greasy, dark, flavourless. We had two types of skewers. The first had chorizo which was thick cut, decent texture and smoked paprika flavour paired with a “morcilla “ or Spanish black pudding. It was stodgy, under seasoned and lacked and character eg fennel notes the second skewer had chicken and chorizo which we struggled to eat. The skewer was served barely warm . The chicken was covered in a paste that just didn’t go with the rest of the dish. By this point my family and myself felt we had given the restaurant enough chances.
