It was a great evening. We felt very safe outside with the tables really spaced out, and the server with her mask well secured. It was warm too with the heat lamps! The food was amazing- we loved the Brussels sprouts, pork belly, tomahawk 40 oz and the scallops!! The carrot cake and Mexican chocolate mousse were an amazing finish. We have a great time and it almost felt ‘normal’ (highest compliment)! Well done to the staff.
With covid19, the restaurant is reservation-based and super convenient to do so through their website. I would recommend reserving early as their slots run out quickly. Upon arrival, the outdoor seating was brightly lit with the tables were set six feet apart. It makes me feel comfortable and safe to dine outside. There were heaters outside, and I did not feel cold at all when dining.
We ordered fried brussels, house-made tagliatelle, and pork shank osso bucco. For food wise, it's 3.5/5 based on the dishes we ordered. The fried brussels were crispy every layer and does not taste burnt. However, I wish there were more miso vinaigrette to the dish as I can taste mild bitterness from the vegetables. As for the house-made tagliatelle, the pasta was cooked al dente and generous amount of cheese without being too heavy. The pork shoulder was too salty, in my opinion. However, the pickled serrano was unique add-on and taste good with the pork shoulder. Pork shank osso bucco came with creamy polenta that I wish could be seasoned a bit more as it was a bit bland. The osso bucco was cooked so well that the meat is tender and fell right off the bone, however it lacks flavor.
For drinks, I got pistachio daiquiri. It tastes delicious with the light nutty taste and well blend of the cocktail that I give 5/5.
Service is 5/5 at The Ballard Cut. The server was attentive and super friendly. He makes sure we have a wonderful dining experience and easy to converse with.
I would come back for their excellent service and cocktails. Would love to try their other dishes that people recommended.
We were needed by Joey and she is such a treat.
The good and quick service was wonderful for our date night. Planning on going again.
It was a little loud and the the tables were kind of too close together for comfort but the food was INCREDIBLE and the heated/covered patio area was perfect. I kept my jacket on but was comfortable in sub 40 degrees. 10/10. Will definitely be returning once the pandemic is over.
Their new outdoor area is awesome - it isn’t fully enclosed (which is good because, COVID), but the large heaters keep you totally warm even in the cold winter months. Definitely recommend going here to get out of the house, the change of scenery was great! Food and service also.
Amazing outdoor dining experience- for it to be winter, it was so nice not to be cold (amazing heaters) and to have excellent service and delicious food. A+++
We always have great experiences at “the ballard cut” the food is fabulous & the service is friendly & efficient!
Great service and the steak was amazing
We were greeted promptly, all employees wore masks, the table was under a solid outdoor dining area with plenty of ventilation as well as heat lamps.
It was raining but we were untouched.
The service was delightful, prompt and genuinely friendly and our meal was outstanding! Highly recommend!
We were glad this restaurant was opened on the Christmas Eve. The servers were very friendly and hospitable. Food was also amazing, especially the pork belly and risotto.
Excellent food preparation. The flavors are tremendous. Reminds you why the dishes are priced the way they are. During Pandemic its outside only but they make the experience pleasurable with gas lamps and covered seating area. Clearly one of the best restaurants in Ballard.
We brought our 21 month old there and we all enjoyed the food, atmosphere, staff and everything! The patio heater kept us warm.
Great outdoor dining experience. Delicious food, heated patio, great drinks and service.
The food was outstanding. We ordered the pork chops and they were so juicy and tasty. My husband loved the whiskey selection and the whisky expert helped him navigate through the enormous menu! Fun evening out!
Many great evenings here already! Great staff, great service and great drinks and food.
Service and food were both amazing, and it was nice and warm even with such an open patio. My friends and I will be back soon!
Great service, delicious food and amazing drinks. Warm with heat lamps and safety measure were taken. Highly recommend!
If you haven’t been to Ballard Cut you’re missing out! Tommy and his team are an outstanding combo of talent, heart and graciousness.
My experience at The Ballard Cut was extremely enjoyable across the board! The food was amazing and thier outdoor seating in response to recent regulations was perfect and super cozy. While these things were outstanding, I was most impressed by the service. Having worked in the service industry for many years, I get very excited by impressive service 🤗. Everyone had such good energy, was so friendly and extremely accommodating. I'll definitely be back!
Waiters were all very kind and helpful. If you want a whisky flight, the owner will come out and gauge what flavors you want to explore and make a tasting based on that. Food was delicious: the clam starter and the New York steak were especially good.
Best Pork Chop in Seattle! No contest!
I really wish I could give this restaurant 5 stars. The food is what was disappointing. My steak was over cooked and I had to send it back. It was well done and not near the medium rare ordered. The brussels sprouts were much better and the carrot cake for dessert was really good. Now to the good stuff. If you love whiskey, this is the place to go. Very knowledgeable about whiskey, and did not disappoint. Ordered a flight with Tommy’s suggestions and you will be happy.
We had a wonderful outdoor dining experience. Firstly the service was flawless. I had a delicious Hot Buttered Rum to warm me up. We started with 3 delicious appetizers. The grilled cauliflower, pork belly, and Vietnamese sausage. All were delicious, but the pork belly was my favorite. For my main dish I had the Dry-aged New York Strip. OMG this was cooked perfectly and so delicious. I could eat it everyday! But this wasn't the topper. For dessert they had just created something new and I was willing to give it a try. It was pork belly atop cornbread, topped with ice cream and drizzled with heavenliness. It sounds weird...but worked perfectly. If it is on the menu....order it!
Best restaurant in Ballard for a nice evening out!
Had a wonderful impromptu dinner with my fiancé & sister in law. Amidst the second shutdown, the TBC team put together a table and gave us spectacular service, even though the outdoor dining area was not completed quite yet. Will be going here again & hopefully by that time, indoor dining comes back around. The interior is beautiful! Fingers crossed this place sticks around through the shutdown.
Great restaurant. Food was very tasty and came out quickly. Nice plating. The highlight of the restaurant is the expansive rare whiskey collection behind the bar. The owner is very passionate and takes the time to really talk to customers. Would definitely go back.
Beautiful bar as soon as you walk in. We were seated quickly and ordered a bottle of wine. The server recommended the octopus and it did not disappoint! Ordered the brussel sprouts and Vietnamese sausage! Everything was amazing from the staff to the kitchen! Definitely will be back to get the tomahawk!
The Ballard Cut was my favorite dining experience in Seattle thus far, every dish was immaculate and well prepared. We had the Brussels sprouts and they were TO DIE FOR! Our service was prompt, and the owner even came by to recommend us a flight of dessert wines to end our dinner with which was EXQUISITE! We truly felt like royalty, I couldn’t recommend this place enough!
Wonderful place. The scallops and the old fashions were delicious.
Always an absolute pleasure. The increasingly not-so-hidden gem of Ballard.
If you like Japanese whiskeys...this is your place! Food and cocktails where great, we did some Japanese whiskey to start and moved into cocktails. We had so much food, but I'm glad we did. Some standouts where the crispy pork belly and the fire-roasted porcetta. Will be back for sure!
Interesting and delicious menu. The Brussel sprouts are amazing, as is the charred octopus, and the crispy pork belly. Great option for tapas style eating or full plated meals, too. Drinks were incredibly curated!
Awesome spot for a date night, many different drink choices, and the food is off the chart!
Incredible place! The food was so amazing <3 Can't wait to go back
Such a great experience and awesome food. Highly recommend giving them a try!
Fantastic food, service and ambience. Very extensive whiskey list.
Love this place! Great food and booze at a great value.
First time since March out to a brunch solo.
“Do you have Bloody Mary?”
“Yes, but we’re out of Tomato juice”
“How about coffee”
“No we don’t have coffee but you can go get some and bring it in”
“Do you have all items on menu?” (Cause they gave me full menu)
“No only the drinks on full menu not the food....(gives me 5 item brunch menu) “we’re out of $&@...”
I’ve had this reservation at this $$$ French restaurant for a week...
Credit to the chef for excellent steak.
Boo on management for not having even drip coffee during brunch on a Sunday!
Absolutely phenomenal. This is our favorite restaurant in Ballard. The staff is super attentive and knowledgeable. The owners are true gems.
Very good food. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean and Kitchen was transparent. We were pleasantly surprised.
