The Balcony Las Olas
This was our first experience at this relatively new restaurant. We loved it. Our waiter, Adam, was terrific. The food came out quickly and perfectly. We'll go back -- especially on a nite they have music. (They didn't have music on Monday.)
We had a great time at the Balcony and the overall experience was enhanced even more by the wonderful service of our server, Emily. It was our first time there and Emily was very delightful and helpful in making food and drink suggestions. She was also very engaging and attentive. We would definitely go back!
I LOVED the atmosphere....everyone was kind. The bartenders, waiters, hostess this was my first time there but I will definitely be back again. Oh and the music was bomb!!
We could not eat the gumbo, and sent it back and got jambalaya and corn chowder. We could not eat the jambalaya either in the corn chowder was called. But they comped the whole meal so that was very good.
Food was great and we really enjoy the music. This was our 3rd time there and we will continue to go because we love the food and live music.
We were looking for a good brunch place to add to our rotation but the balcony will not be it. We like the New Orleans theme but that’s about all this place has. Listening to hip hop music over the top of a band warming up to play was terrible. Pre mixed mimosas were just the start of a bad brunch. I made reservations for a “good table” and we were sat down against an open window with nothing to look at except a Jewish community center across the street. Haha. We really didn’t even make it 20feeg into the restaurant. Weren’t told about the upstairs section and not even offered a booth in the middle of the restaurant with no other customers in the place. The New Orleans theme was cute but barely offered any New Orleans style cuisine. No chargrilled oysters? Really? No shrimp in grits? The fried green tomatoes were terrible. And we had to ask about beneights cause they were not on the menu. We had a quick bite and went next door to Rocos tacos. Much better. And our tab for 2 people was 100$ for food we didn’t even eat or like. We will not be back. Bokamper will be hearing about our visit next time I see him in the neighborhood.
Again, great food & good service. Be very specific in your reservations where you want to sit - upstairs, downstairs, inside or outside. We prefer downstairs, inside, let that be know in our reservations and called 2 days ahead to confirm, no problem. Once before, we didn’t, and they couldn’t change that they put us upstairs.
Steven Riley was an excellent waiter!!! The food was scrumptious!!!
Our waiter was amazing!! Food was good, live band exceeded expectations
Great experience, food and drinks! The music was great but really loud, which made it tough to communicate with the people across the table.
the breakfast brunch was great ,but the 3$ charge for two thin slices for extra baguette was unexeptable.
Great Brunch, we now have a new go to spot! Crab cakes were amazing...
The food and service is very good. Downstairs has the main restaurant and a bar. Upstairs there are also tables to eat, an inside bar, and a bar which has a balcony overlooking Las olas.
But would let them know to go on the balcony instead of downstairs
Took my wife there for Valentine's Day. We a really nice time the food & drinks were awesome. And the band played some really up beat music. The atmosphere was totally stress free.
Food and ambiance was great but they forgot to serve us the 2nd course to our 4 course dinner.
We went on Valentines Day for our anniversary. We wanted the Cajun restaurant experience. Unfortunately there was a fixed non Cajun menu that night. My fish, Sea Bass was over cooked and dry. Our server was attentive and receptive to feed back.
We will go back to try the regular menu in hopes that it will stack up to Cajun restaurants in New Orleans.
My wife and I went there on Valentine's Day. It was our first and last time. They had a limited men for dinner that was awful, by if you opt to set at the bar you could've ordered something else. When our server told the manager he had an old well attitude. The food portions were small
We were very disappointed
Amazing and fun experience!
We’ve been here for brunch twice and both times it was excellent. Great Service and food. They keep the bottomless mimosas FULL. Will definitely be back.
The Sunday brunch menu was diverse and tempting. We had the bowl with eggs and biscuits and gravy. Very good. The Steak and eggs were delicious.
Made reservations on line and later was called because the up stairs was suppose to be full, we ended up sitting on the street level out side on the side walk , service was ok as well as the food , after eating we went up stairs and there was plenty of seats available , not sure why we made a reservation?
Good food and drink are to be found here. Good location right on Las Olas Boulevard. The real star of the show here is their nice live New Orleans - style music .
I’ve already recommended friends and family to go and have an amazing dinner and drinks with such a wonderful ambiance thank you
Great food, excellent service. The band was awesome.
with our reservation the seating was still not reserved but we got to sit in the sidewalk cafe area and we enjoyed it alot. am hoping to come back soon to try more of the interesting tasty foods on the menu. it is a bit expensive.
Everything was great. Friendly staff. The brunch was excellent.
Horrible food ,extremely expensive we were very disappointed
Went for brunch. It was fantastic.
Wanted to love it - place is visually appealing but service wasn’t great and food was over cooked, fruit wasn’t fresh, bread was stale. Ordered a drink and there were bugs in the glass... they quickly replaced however you just have a hard time wanting to drink anything after that. Wouldn’t go back.
Sat up on the balcony. The environment was really nice and the drinks were good. The food took much longer than expected. I think the staff was confused on who should be running food upstairs. Took 35 min for appetizers, decided at that point to cancel the entre. I would definitely go back but just for drinks at the bar.
Food was okay.
Needs more authentic food from Louisiana
This is the 3rd time here. The food and menu is great. The last time we tried upstairs on the balcony and it was too loud and didn’t care for it. So for brunch we asked to be seated downstairs, they had nothing, said they tried to call and ask, which they didn’t (they had the time before), so we went upstairs. The music was so loud we shouted at each other the entire meal. Looked around and so were other tables? Not what I was looking for, maybe others do call this energetic?!
I loved this place. Have been there a few times but this last visit, service was really disappointed.
I made a reservation with three weeks of anticipation for 6 adults and request a high chair for a kid. When we got there, they have put us on a booth and no high chair (supposedly they didn’t get the request)
After requesting a manager, talk for more than 15 mins and almost leave they finally moved us to a table (high table) and we were not able to use the high chair because it was smaller than the table.
No need to say it was very uncomfortable and a sad way to celebrates my mom bday.
Not sure we are coming back
The restaurant although featured in Food and Wine is more of a sports bar. If you desire seafood skip The Balcony.
It was hard to get our servers attention, she was never around and by the time they brought dessert, the table was full of plates, glasses etc...she didn't have a candle ready. There were two plates that were returned, the duck salad and the jambalaya dish. The filet mignons were over cooked. Enjoyed the drinks.
