   Took my husband for his birthday, just the 2 of us. We were greeted and sat quickly (they had put a balloon on the table to celebrate!). Our server was fabulous, attentive but not over the top. The food was delicious ( I’d highly recommend the crab nacho’s as a starter!). We had the fillet steak and the ribeye steaks, both cooked to the chefs recommendation and both were stunning. Possibly the best place to get a steak in Penzance. Will absolutely come back again.

   Went there for Valentines meal. Could not fault it. Superb food & service. Oysters and steak were bloody ansome!

   Excellent food at the Bakehouse....the steak was terrific, as was the mackerel pate. Lovely evening and very pleasant staff.

   Very quiet when we arrived, too bright & not much ambience. Starters were really nice but very disappointed with main courses, I had Hake with crayfish risotto which was nice but lacked seasoning, my husband had the sirloin steak which was horrible, it was very thin with the only thick piece being full of fat, he asked for medium which it was, nice & pink in the middle but so chewy it was practically inedible! The peppercorn sauce was pretty tasteless also. We did tell the waiter about the steak as my husband couldn’t eat it but he just apologised & took it away! We didn’t bother with desserts after that. The wine on the other hand was amazing. We were disappointed as we’d been wanting to eat here for some time after recommendations from friends but have unfortunately now been out off a return visit

   Visited with family in late December. Food was exceptionally good. Service was relaxed and welcoming. In a lovely part of town also. Will definitely be back.

   I took my partner to this restaurant as I have visited before. The food was delicious and staff were so friendly. It was a lovely second visit.

    All 3 courses were excellent & interesting. There were only 3 other customers because it was a tuesday in November but the waiter was engaging & knowledgable. He made an ecxellent dessert wine recomendation to go with my choclate parfait. The chef is the owner, so he's keen on producing good, consistent food & it shows. Will go again next year when we return to Cornwall.

    Popped in for an evening meal as myself & my niece went for breakfast earlier in the week & found the staff attentive & polite so went back with my sister-in-law & her partner. The food was perfectly cooked & presented & once again the staff were friendly, polite & just spot on. Highly recommended

    The food was fantastic- I had the homemade crab nachos and hake with risotto. It was the best meal I have had for ages and the first time we had eaten here. The rest of my party enjoyed the steaks and the cocktails on special were really good. The service was prompt, friendly and attentive. The restaurant was quite noisy as there was a party drinking upstairs but this didn’t spoil our experience. Will definitely go back- highly recommend.

    We dined at The Bakehouse on Saturday 1st October. We found the staff all to be very polite, helpful and attentive. The food was extremely good, definitely amongst the best we have had outside of a "starred" restaurant. We would definitely visit again if in the area.

    We had a wonderful meal at the bakehouse. A few changes to the ingredients were requested and accommodated very happily. The food tasted wonderful. Fresh and well prepared. The ambience was quiet but soothing. The service was efficient and not intrusive during the meal but we chatted to the staff more at the end which was just right. Also - Great margaritas!!

    The meals are creative and very delicious with a good choice in the menu. The ambiance on the ground floor room is nice, with not too much tables and the service is excellent. Some bread to accompany the meals would have been appreciated. This restaurant is in any way worth a trip to Penzance.

    Although the set menu was small there was a good selection and the quality of the food was excellent. The Cornish cheeseboard was the best I have had. Service was attentive without being intrusive.

    A lovely venue tucked away on Chapel Road. The food was genuinely surprising and delicious, we particularly enjoyed the crab samosa special and the squid bouillabaisse. Very quiet the night we were there.

    We had the 2 course menu and both started with fish tacos which were lovely and had steaks for main. My steak was so fatty, my plate was full with chewed and discarded pieces. I told the waiter about the issue when he was collecting the plates and nothing was done. A small gesture goes a long way. A complimentary coffee or small amount off the bill. We wouldn’t return sadly which is a shame as every thing else was spot on.

    Walking in gave a great ambience to our night, love the location. Staff couldn't do enough for you and we're very plesent to talk to. Food was fantastic couldn't make a fault, thank you so much for making our date night special.

    We loved the restaurant. The service was excellent; helpful and friendly. Both the crab bisque and gazpacho were fabulous, interesting and unusual. Probably the best bisque I’ve ever eaten. The bread was lovely and the risotto delicious. Wish we lived closer so we could dine there regularly.

    It was an amazing experience with tasteful food. Staff were friendly and attentive. Fine dining but with a relax atmosphere, you won’t feel out of place it is very welcoming

    Too expensive, little choice, additional charge for sirloin and fillet even though there was no choice to have the steak included in the set meal menu as sold out at 7.30! Set menu for two courses £32.00 Set menu for three £40.00
