Outstanding food and service as always! Will definitely keep returning!
I would have given 5 stars for food but there was only one choice of main for my vegan son after we asked and one choice for pud, fruit with sorbet. It was like stepping back in time with no vegan choices. We will definitely return but perhaps with meat eaters only.
Superb food and service! One of my favourite places to eat!
Excellent food, can recommend the cheese soufflé, excellent service and lovely atmosphere. There were 3 people not eating and not wearing masks which should have been dealt with but apart from that , a perfect evening
Taste and presentation of food is outstanding. Starters:Curried fishcake; chicken liver parfait. Both very classy. Belly pork with the thinnest crackling. Confit chicken like silk. Christmas sundae with marinated golden raisins. It is a place we go for a treat but the prices aren't ridiculous. So glad we are local. Have stayed in the lodges...also recommended.
Lovely to be out! Good atmosphere and made very welcome. Lovely food.
Friendly welcome , tasteful decorations inside and out
Quick, efficient and smiley service !
Food as good as ever - big starters, great homemade bread, lovely beef and amazing sticky toffee pudding.
Highly recommended !
Excellent food absolutely delicious, superb quality. Only disappointing thing was that there was no gluten free bread available.
Beautiful place, stunning location with excellent food and very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend the BH and can’t wait to return there, hopefully after lockdown ends...
Happy to report that our supper at the Baiting House rates as our best dining experience of 2020 (which admittedly has been a 'strange' year!) The serving staff were very welcoming and helpful, coping extremely well with the 'Covid-secure' restrictions. The menu was inventive and varied, catering for different tastes and dietary requirements. We were offered deliciously warm, fresh bread with marmite butter ahead of our entrees...a nice touch and very tasty. Our cheese soufflés were divine, beautifully prepared, paired superbly with jam and onion. Our mains were hake and belly, both cooked to perfection, accompanied by unusual vegetable sides and smooth, delicious mash. I had a rich chocolate brownie with Baileys ice cream as desert, and it was scrumptious!
All in all, it was a fantastic meal. We can highly recommend the Baiting House, and hope to return again in more normal times.
Overall we had a lovely meal at the baiting house. Staff were very attentive and the food was above expectations
My partner and I had a two night stay in Skye room, it was lovely, peaceful and clean. We had the breakfast on the Saturday as well as lunch and tea all meals were absolutely beautiful. All staff were friendly and welcoming. We are looking forward to going again.
This venue is a real find. High quality food and service.
Everything was just fine, our first visit, but not our last.
Very quiet for a Saturday lunchtime so no atmosphere really. Food was good as usual but we did notice that some of the starters & mains have been on the menu for a long time.
Realise these are very difficult times and all pubs/ restaurants finding it hard to keep going. Think if you re-introduced a set price 2 course menu you might encourage more people to dine with you. Have recently dined at The Venture Inn in Ombersley, and at Brockencote Hall and paid about the same for a meal as we did at The Baiting House.
Both the other places were more of a dining experience, so I think your prices are a little steep at the moment. We love the Baiting House and have dined with you regularly since you did the refurbishment a few years ago, so we are just trying to give constructive feedback.
A delicious well cooked and different meal with efficient and friendly service. The chips were the best I have eaten in the UK.
Amazing food as always, always a pleasure to eat in this friendly pub
Outstanding food and service, highly recommended,
Excellent meal as usual, good service, so nice to be back! Have booked for Christmas Eve now
Absolutely gorgeous food - the cheese souffle is to die for! - & great service. Love going to the Baiting House & will definitely be going again 😀
First class as usual, the Baiting House is consistently very good, particularly the food which is excellent
We love The Baiting House, the food is always fabulous and beautifully presented and the staff (Alan and Hazel) are always cheerful and welcoming. Highly recommend.
We like this pub, the ambience, and the staff and my husband always comments on how well the beer is kept. My slightly negative comments are regarding the food. My husband had the fish cake starter and the beef and was very happy. I had the cheese soufflé which I felt was swimming in too much cheese sauce! My next course was roasted salmon which was far too salty and topped with some very greasy croutons! I shan’t be ordering that again! Anyway It was the night before second lockdown and so I expect the kitchen was using up all its ingredients. I must say however that we had a meal two weeks previously and it was all extremely good.
A bit hit and miss at times but generally a very nice, good British Pub.
We could not fault the food or the staff. Both amazing!
Lovely Sunday lunch. Left feeling very full and satisfied. Would recommend.
The best food we’ve had out for ages. Excellent. We’ll just try and not get the table by the kitchen and the customer who just swears loudly and constantly!
Exceptional food, ambience and attentive staff, as always the perfect evening.
Unfortunately we were not given table in the dining room but in the ‘old bar’.
Tables were too close to one another and with other customers walking though to get to the lower bar, made us feel uncomfortable regarding safety. The noise from the tv in the bar below was also intrusive
The ambience was more akin to a pub grub experience, the service matched.
We had to ask for water for the table, for salt and pepper etc.
This was really disappointing, as we’ve had good experiences on our previous visits whilst restrictions have been in place.
Given the amount we paid for our ‘fine dining’ meal, this was really incredibly poor. We had looked forward to one last treat before the second lockdown, but it was not at all relaxing.
We did speak to the staff to make them aware of our discomfort. We were told we needed to request seats in the top dining room in future.
Whilst the food was good, it was not value for money.
I’m afraid we won’t be keen to return as and when new restrictions are lifted.
If you haven’t eaten here then you must !! Food was amazing and the service was outstanding. Will definitely return 😁
Lovely as always. Great food, beautifully presented and good sized portions,
Absolutely delicious food and great hospitality at the Baiting House on Friday; the potato rostis a particular highlight! Thank you.
We had a superb meal despite the family next to us rudely complaining! I would thoroughly recommend. Food fabulous, lovely welcoming atmosphere, helpful and polite staff. Stayed over in one of the king size bedrooms, clean and comfortable.
Great food definitely worth a visit - lovely atmosphere
Lovely dining experience on first impression decor smart and staff very welcoming . Dog friendly which was one of the reasons for dining . Drinks reasonable prices. Food was very good 3 starters including cheese soufflé which was amazing . Mains potato option of a Rosti was only a small portion but plenty of mixed vegetables. Salmon perfect . Pork meat very lean and tender . Desserts again outstanding lemon tart and sticky toffee pudding ordered . All in all very good experience . Prices above normal pub prices but quality of food was exceptional and definitely not the usual pub grub ...delicious .
Amazing food, the team were so friendly and helpful and the pub itself is stunning! Absolutely loved it
It is amazing! I can find zero fault with the food or service (or Covid safety because unfortunately that’s a factor these days 🤦🏻♀️). I couldn’t tell you what I enjoyed best because the cheese soufflé, roast beef, and lemon tart to share were incredible. Steven enjoyed his chicken liver parfait and potato gnocchi with cauliflower and truffle pesto - I had a bite and it was delightful, just not as delightful as my most perfectly cooked beef and the best cauliflower cheese I’ve maybe ever had. The alcohol selection was very good (this is often as important as the food in my opinion) and the beer was well kept. The bottle of Rioja also went down a treat 🙈 (I did share).
If you haven’t been I highly recommend a visit - £22 for 2 courses at a 2 rosette restaurant is an absolute bargain in my opinion.
Superb Sunday Lunch - Roast Herefordshire Beef was divine - topped and tailed with delicious starter and dessert!
Absolutely sensational food. Service was excellent as well and still a really nice atmosphere given the current restrictions.
Cannot wait to eat here again.
The food was very good, the service exceptional - it’s gradually returning (after a dip) to the first class establishment it previously was . Special mention for Mark and Georgia , worth their weight in gold (and Marks a heavy lad)
Delicious well presented food. Small but unusual menu including a vegetarian option.. Service was good. Would definitely recommend. We were staying at thr lodges at Sapey Golf club only a short walk away, but you do need a torch!
