Attentive to the unique qualities of the neighborhood, as with our Eat Street sibling, we’ve matured from our beginnings – with a full bar, full table-service and unique dinner and brunch menus. Try the chicken and waffle, the breakfast burrito or the beet tartare. We have plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
The Bad Waitress Northeast is here to provide an irresistible experience that will draw you in and keep you coming time after time.
We had a great server, Andy, and the food got to us so quickly! Great experience all around and will definitely be back!!
Lilly was fantastic as always as our waitress and the host was friendly too. Breakfast was delicious- get the trash browns! Staff was conscientious to seat people a part and you could see them wiping EVERYTHING down to keep people healthy.
Excellent service/ friendly waitstaff. Very good food. Fun atmosphere
Food was great! Service was excellent. We got seated right away! Highly recommend!
Great place for brunch. The loaded hashbrowns were amazing.
Good breakfast at the Bad Waitress. Good service. A bit of a void on beer choices - and not sure the beer I ordered was the beer I got. So I might suggest that the beers on menu are actually available - or have a more limited selection that is available. My coffee stout looked like Hamms - so I don't think it was coffee stout.
Wonderful place to grab brunch. They take reservations for breakfast/brunch on the weekends, so I would suggest making one as the wait can be on the longer side. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Free parking in this area is a plus as well! Can't recommend enough!
Cute place, great food and suburb breakfast service!
Nice and quiet on a Friday morning. Huevos rancheros were good!
Great spot for brunch, drinks and more! I had an amazing omelette. The other people at my table enjoyed eggs Benedict, a breakfast sandwich and a southwestern breakfast dish.
We wondered if this restaurant was living up to its name as this was probably the worst eating experience we have had in years. It was 20+ minutes after sitting before we had a waiter acknowledge us and still 14 more minutes before he actually took our order. Out of our group of five, only one had a correct order. I had ordered eggs over easy and they came overcooked and cold. Maybe it's the schtick of this establishment to promote itself as having bad waitstaff, but truly, I will never return nor will I recommend it to anyone I care about.
The food is great, the atmosphere is always fun, securing a seat is easy.
Great food - with Vegan options! Love their coffee and the relaxed setting!
Comfortable atmosphere- good food!
Had a reservation for 12:30. Was seated and 10 minutes later we still had not had a server. It’s not a large establishment either. I understand people get busy, but at least acknowledge us and let us know you’ll be with us soon. My friend and I were really excited to try this place, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We waited over 10 minutes and then left and went elsewhere.
Avocado Garden Toast for $9.50 was pure comedy: a weak slice of rye toast, spread with a teaspoon of avo, topped with one egg and surrounded by a few cuke slices and cherry tomato halves. To their credit, they swapped my order for an omelet without issue.
This place is a great stop for brunch before heading out for the day’s holiday shopping. The food was good but did not live up to the last visit. It will not deter us from stopping again in the future. Everyone has an off day. The plus of visiting is the servers do not hover!! One of the best things is they leave you alone to actually enjoy the meal and the company you are with!
Great food and awesome ambiance!
Great Sunday brunch. We were seated immediately upon arrival as we had made a reservation. Our wait staff were quick, smiling and pro. The food arrived after a short appropriate wait considering how busy the restaurant was at that time, 11am. The bad, bad benedict and the regular benedict's were excellent. Our shared pancake was light and fluffy. We will certainly return as well as highly recommend that others enjoy this delightful Minneapolis eatery.
Very fun place - we had great tasting, reasonably priced brunch.
Nothing “bad” about this place!
Food was great and service was better!
Pretty average for brunch. The waiter was good; however, the hostess had a weird rule about taking us to our seats. We made a reservation for 8 Due to weather, people didn’t arrive till varying times. They refused to seat us until at least 6 of us had arrived. Felt inconvenient.
We tried another restaurant in the neighborhood first and waited 20 minutes with no service or acknowledgement and left. Came to the bad waitress and had a cheerful and delightful experience. I’ve actually always had great service here and me and my little family should’ve come here to begin with.
Great vegan options.
Large, light space, wonderful service by a server who did not rush us! Loved the menu and the vibe.
I don’t know why it’s open in the evening because it’s a basic diner and should only serve breakfast and brunch. The cocktails were RIDICULOUS. The waiter and bartender came back to our table 4 or 5 times with questions about our extremely simple order so it took at least half an hour to get a drink and the place was nearly empty! When they finally arrived they’re in the tiniest glass you ever saw. Like dollhouse size. I asked if they had a regular size lowball glass and the answer was “no.”
Overall great experience! Good breakfast and brunch foods! Also, great vegan, gluten free options!
Had a good time, good was a little expensive but really good
My Rachel arrived as a Reuben and not on gluten-free bread as requested. Server was new and slightly awkward but once the order was remade correctly, it was tasty.
Device was very slow but decent food and a good drink menu. Decent value for breakfast food! Would go again, just wish service was better
The service was really awful. The host Is actually the one who ended up serving us. Our actual server only came once, and never came back not even to apologize. The restaurant had such few tables seated there really was no reason for us to wait over an hour to get the food we ordered.
I have a hard time saying yes/no. My first experience with The Bad Waitress was fantastic...I love the food, had great service and recommended the restaurant to many friends. This visit was less than pleasing. The restaurant was busy, but nothing crazy. Our server was less than friendly, hardly checked in on the table and our wait time for food was almost an hour! She wasn't going to let me sub ham for bacon...because the kitchen wouldn't be happy. However, she was fine with the other 3 guests at our table requesting substitutions to their orders. When the food arrived, it was just okay. We were VERY disappointed that we chose this restaurant for our after-wedding brunch!
The space is great and the service was friendly. The menu selections all sounded great. The coffee drinks were delicious. Unfortunately, we waited an hour for our food. When we got it, it was very disappointing. One omelette was very salty. The other omelette was over cooked. The breakfast potatoes were extremely greasy. I would not recommend this to anyone.
This was my and my friend's first visit to the NE location. Great space and the hosts were awesome and most helpful. While it was a busy brunch, we waited 45 minutes to an hour for our food to arrive, and it was still incomplete. A side of bacon and glass of OJ arrived 20 and 25 minutes respectively after we got our meals.
Think the server may have forgot to put the ticket in as other groups around us who were seated after us got their food way before we did. The server was nice but seemed pretty overwhelmed.
This restaurant lives up to its name. The service was not good at all. The food would have been very good if they would have served it hot.
Hello Jean, Thanks for coming and I'm sorry your visit was disappointing. The food absolutely should be served while hot - that was a miscue on our part. If there's anything else you'd like to relay please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org m - I'm interested to hear what we can improve. Thank you.
The bottomless mimosas for $14 during Saturday - Sunday brunch is a great deal. The mimosas are large and they add plenty of champagne. The menu is fun but our food was nothing special, and we spent a lot of money for breakfast for two.
Hello Jules, Thank you for coming and for your comments - I'm pleased you enjoyed your experience for the most part and we hope to see you again soon. If there is anything specific we could do to improve your experience please let me know at email@example.com om. Thanks again!
The issue in this review was tied to the menu represented on OpenTable wasn't for this restaurant. In fact, the menu on OT had interesting "foodie" preparations and the actual is a pretty simple burger/bar menu. The server thought it could be confusion with an associated restaurant in Uptown.
With all the interesting restaurants in the area, we left and did a walk-in nearby.
On the positive, we were greeted immediately and the ambiance was nice. There was only one other table seated so noise level was low. We had hoped to site outside, but that seating is right on a busy street corner so it seemed like it would be difficult to chat. Server was friendly and understanding of our choice to leave.
Hello Steve, Thanks for stopping in and I'll dig in with OpenTable to see what the issue is with the menu. This sounds very odd and I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Except for rush hour times, the patio is actually pretty calm in terms of noise level, and it is not difficult to have a conversation out there. Thanks again.
The menu isn’t substantive, but there’s enough variety that’s inclusive of specialty dietary needs. The food portions are large and despite the name the staff are friendly and very helpful.
The overall vibe and energy of The Bad Waitress is chill, a great place to catch up with friends!
Hello Chesay, Thank you for coming and for your comments - I'm pleased you enjoyed your experience and we hope to see you again soon. Thanks again!
Food and service were both excellent. Really the only problem was that the music was too loud. It was brunch, and people go to brunch to talk to each other. I had trouble hearing what my friend was saying the whole time, so that was kind of a bummer. Overall, though, I really like this place! Will probably go back.
Hello, Thank you for coming and for your comments - I'm pleased you enjoyed your experience and we look forward to seeing you again soon. As to the music, everyone has a different preferred volume level, however please ask to adjust if it is interfering with your enjoyment - we can do that. Thanks again!
