With an ever-changing menu full of locally sourced ingredients, chef & owner William Wakefield along with his wife Suzanne and their team are sure to have something for you. Cannot fault the Back Street. Food was excellent, staff friendly and courteous. Great restaurant all round 😍😍

The Back Street has fast become our go to place to eat out in Dumfries. Consistently good food and good service. The menu changes frequently so always something new to try. Highly recommend.

The restaurant is ok. There’s little option for good food in dumfries and this restaurant is one of the better ones. Nice that they haven’t crammed too many tables in.

Visited at 7:30pm on a Saturday evening as two couples. Restaurant was busy without being totally full. Waitress was helpful in taking us to our table. Service for drinks was fast. Pina Colada cocktails were particularly good. There are only 10 dishes on the mains & the first two we chose were both unavailable which we thought was very poor considering the relatively few options. We thought we should have been made aware of the limited choses when we were given the menus. Unfortunately this probably clouded our experience. The food we did choose was pleasant & Service prompt. Overall we enjoyed what we had but were disappointed we couldn't have our first choice meals
