   The service was initially fine. However while waiting for our food to arrive we noticed our waiter resting his head on the bar in full view of all diners. Later we saw fingers were used to add a raspberry to a drink - glad it wasn't mine. The food was fine, though what was on offer on the menu was less varied than i t has been in the past. After having seen our server laughing and chatting in the small entry to the kitchen for a while, I managed to signal that our table was ready to be cleared, we were offered the dessert menu, however when the menus arrived after a good 15 minutes the moment had passed, we mentioned this to the waitress and asked for the bill. The waitress shrugged her shoulders and said "ok". I said "no it is not ok - it is poor", to which she replied "this is not my table" We paid without leaving a tip, and left feeling disappointed. I felt particularly embarrassed to have brought my visitor here. I have enjoyed Backstreet many times previously and was certain it would be as good as previously, however the service was so poor I will have to think twice about going back.

   We made a booking for 17.15 and were seated in the middle of the restaurant but our social anxiety was gonna be a big problem so we asked to move and was promptly then we ordered drinks quickly and I got an espresso martini which was nice and smooth then ordered shortly after and we got this gorgeous smoked trout which worked quite well after that we had the chicken Kiev which was great especially the breadcrumbs and the Fish dish had. Crispy skin on top and a soft and delicate meat underneath and paired with a nice sauce Throughout we had great, quick, efficient service which has been rare in our trip thanks to Reagan and her team

   Had a lovely meal, a lovely restaurant, and the service was grand. Steak was perfect. Sadly noone was around or available to say goodbye or thank you to, but that's not the end of the world.

   We got 2 chips and burger and both chips and one burger with roll was over cooked we payed for food that we should be able to eat and we said to the staff but they never even took any money of the food they told the cook but he wasn't even bothered just came out kitchen door looked at my husband and when back to the kitchen it was our 1st time there worse meal we have ever had in a restaurant

   Yummy food in a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Food and drinks well presented and great choices of each.

   The haggis scotch egg was cooked to perfection. Tandoori Monkfish was excellent. Staff attentive and friendly without being over bearing. All in all 10 out of 10 👍🏼

   The gluten free choice is excellent. The staff were very friendly.

    Back Street never lets us down. The eclectic menu is difficult to choose from and the service is unique….. That’s a reason we keep coming back! Food, Hawkstone lager, cocktails. Need I say more?
