Arrived to find that the pub was closed for refurbishment. We had a party of 8 and it was Easter Sunday. There was no way we were going to get another table anywhere else. If you are going to close, make sure that the booking service is turned off so that people are not disappointed and left with nowhere to eat.

This restaurant needs removing from your site as it is no longer open. You are accepting bookings for this but it is CLOSED and has been for some time. We turned up on Sunday for lunch and all doors were locked. and so had to run round different places to try and find a table for lunch.

I’ve rated everything low, not because we ate there, but because it was CLOSED. Which we didn’t find out until we arrived there! APPALLING.

We booked a table for lunch last Saturday, but when we arrived the pub was closed with no sign explaining why. I was with my elderly parents who are n a care home, so it was really stressful finding another place for lunch at such short notice. We won’t be going to the Avenue again.

A mixed bag this time. The bread and butter starter was a disappointment. Advertised as baked bread it was actually 2 slices of supermarket sliced bread which definitely wasn't worth the £3.50 price. The steak was lovely as always but the wine and dessert choices were limited because of the planned closure in mid april. We will wait until it's been refurbished then give it one more try.

Arrived no table set up for six even after we confirmed booking then ordered drinks after asking what non alcoholic beer they had they confirmed but came back and stated that they didn’t have any. Then came back again and said they didn’t have type of gin we had also ordered. Reordered a vodka and cranberry came back again and said they had no cranberry. Decided to leave at this point very poor service
