Applewood bacon, caramelized onions, cheese
Pickled onions, sweet Thai chili sauce
Mahi mahi, pickled red cabbage, chipotle aioli, guacamole, 3 corn tortillas
Great burgers, lively atmosphere, friendly service.
Over- priced food
Expected more since it was off-season with limited guests .... I guess staffing was insufficient
The food was average in taste and price. The service was very slow. The waitress was nice but overworked.
Clam Chowder was off the chart, a must try,
the scallop dish with peas and Risotto, delicious, go chef!
2 of the best dishes made in Cape May County
Good burgers and beer. Social distancing and masks enforced. Also courtyard dining available.
We go the Brew Pub at least two times per month. The food is always good and they did a s=good job this summer providing a safe environment. We sat inside for the first time last night and felt safe. There was much more then 6 feet between diners.
Calamari portion was terrible.
Walking in the door we didn't feel welcomed at all. Waitress was good. We had the calamari which was tender..a small dish. Confit fries was very good. Burger just okay, fluke fish and chips were good, fish taco's were a good portion of mahi mahi but needed something so we asked for some aioli sauce which was very good. Cheesecakes were all good.
Had a great time. The outdoor dining space is great.
Lovely setting and well done on the covid protection steps.
We had the lobster rolls. I would highly recommend another roll. The roll it was served on overpowered the lobster and more dressing.
Also outside seating was inside with a window open ? ? ? So we sat at the bar at the beach. Don't say outdoor and then take us to a room inside.
Our server Crystal was outstanding ! The outdoor heaters were a but too hot.
Overall disappointed with the evening. Started out ok and had some nice appetizers but the entree portion was just ok. I had fish and chips, and got one nice piece and one that was just batter. I watched other tables plates with the same over have 3-4 nice pieces of fish so I’m not sure what happened. I really liked the ambiance of the brew pub but the service is where things went down hill. Our server delivered our food and essentially never came back. We had empty drinks and wanted another round and waited 30 minutes before just having to ask another server to find ours. We just got our bill and left. I understand it was busy but we were overall not impressed with the experience.
This is very nice establishment, food is quite good and the service is very peasant. Also everyone abides by the Covid mandates. Made us feel safe. I will say their Calamari appetizer has gotten smaller.
Super quick food with great pretzel for appetizer
Food was average at best, my wife had the crab cakes and there was barely any crab, mostly filling. I had the fish tacos and it was kinda bland. Will probably not go back
Family beach get away, all was great but food was so so. Pizza was great but ravioli was ... well we couldn’t even eat half. Both my daughter and I ordered and both left the restaurant hungry.
We had a very good time at Avalon Brew Pub. Everything was perfect and the service was amazing.
Social distancing was in place, the food and service was very good.
Service was terrible. Took forever to get drinks and food.
Our burger was below average, fish tacos and veggie wrap we could not even eat. The kids menu items were ok. Service was not great. The inside atmosphere is really nice. Maybe we would go back for a drink at the bar, but never eating there again.
Food was just ok, they do havea nice outdoor covered area. We were a party of 4, fish tacos where a bit dry, fish and chips were good, pizza was bland and a chicken dish was good.
We sat under the awning in pouring rain and we were perfectly dry. It was great!
Had been there last summer and the service & food was much better.
The outdoor area had very little airflow circulation, it was warm and stagnant with a lot of flies around the tables. I was constantly having to wave flies away from myself and food. Food was okay, cocktails were great. Service was mediocre.
The burgers were delicious. The crab louis lacked lump crab meat. No a place for pizza.
Great area for outdoor seating! Service was very good and so was the food!!
All was good, food was average. Tried their New England IPA tasted like Miller Lite trying to be an IPA BLAH! Their standard IPA was delicious. Only complaint was our server could not seem to keep her mask on. Not really appropriate for the end of August when she has been doing it for three months! We just wore our masks when she came to the table for our comfort. Otherwise she was friendly.
Sue and Claudia were amazing!!! The manager was a great as well! The service was great with Sue that we booked dinner for a second night!
Good food presented in a comfortable and pleasant environment on the outside patio; attentive but not intrusive service; we would eat here again! Best burgers on the island!
I went with my family of 5 and we all enjoyed our meal. The staff was friendly especially our waitress. My meal of scallops and mushroom risotto was delicious!!! I am still dreaming about it!! Everyone else enjoyed their meal too. Wish I lived closer to go back!
Be careful if making reservations here. They don’t mean much. We booked a reservation for a group of 8, then went to the restaurant to confirm it an hour before the reservation. They said everything was good. 20 minutes before the reservation they called and canceled our reservation, citing the (light) rain. Of course it had been raining all day so nothing changed in that last hour. Woman on the phone was awful — horrible tone, and completely clueless. No apology whatsoever for cancelling.
All the appetizers and entrays were delicious. Nothing to complain about. I would visit this place again.
Stopped for lunch after a trip to the Cape May Zoo. Perfect for families, nice upscale brewery, good beers, delish cocktails, try the blueberry lemonade, and good simple pub grub!! The kids loved their mac and cheese! The service was good, a bit slow, but all the servers were attentive and friendly. We will be back soon, for sure!!!
Amazing Gluten Free options, very nice staff, and overall great experience!
Covid 19 guidelines in place; Attentive service; well prepared and presented food; great atmosphere eating outside
First time out in public since March. Felt very safe. All employees are wearing masks as well as patrons walking around. Ordered fish and chips. I was unable to eat because of the bay seasoning. Just too much for me. Our waitress, Sue, had the meal compt against all my pleading. It wasn’t the brewpubs fault. I would definitely recommend Avalon Brewpub for a great night out.
I knew when we made the reservation that we’d be seated outside, due to distancing restrictions. However, I thought we’d be in the covered patio area just off the restaurant, which I had seen when we dined there before. We were instead seated out on the sidewalk in the heat - umbrellas didn’t do much to block the sun. And then the seagulls came, which was awful. I understand that restaurants have to get creative with seating during the pandemic, but the ambience was unacceptable for a restaurant at this level (and with these prices). Wait staff was great and did their best, but it seemed like the first night Avalon Brew Pub had tables out there (though I know it wasn’t). Did no one anticipate the heat and the seagull attack? We made the best of it, but it was a birthday dinner, and I expected more from ABP.
While things seemed a bit disorganized when we checked in for our reservation, once we were seated the service was 5-star. Our server was timely without being overbearing. Always seemed to appear at just the right moment. We shared 3 appetizers which we loved - especially the Cheesesteak Dumplings and the Calamari . Two of us had fish and chips, which was good. My husband wanted something lighter and really enjoyed the chopped salad. My daughter had wings and said they were excellent. Dessert was also a hit with the Molten Lava Cske and the Key Lime Pie. Overall, a great meal for our last night in Avalon.
Food and drinks were good. Ribs a bit fatty, fish fry was delicious. Wings and Flatbread were tasty. Beer good.
Wonderful food. Great quality. Server was outstanding - very pleasant, helpful and attentive. Doing their best to serve guests best they can under current circumstances.
