   Lovely service, wonderful food. When you type the address in on maps it takes you a very funny route but if you drop a pin next to the pub and get directions to there you’ll be fine! Really worth the drive.

   The staff were friendly and welcoming, but the pub was very quiet as it was the Saturday between Christmas and New Year, so it lacked atmosphere a bit and was only just warm enough. The food was simple but tasty, with a slightly limited menu, given the time of year. This was a good central point to meet family, so we would probably use again as it was pretty good value.

   Great to have such a cosy, warm, family-run pub so near Stansted airport. A welcome antidote to the sterile hotel we were staying in overnight. We'll be back .

   Was able to book a table only a couple of hours before, which was helpful as we were travelling home from a day out. Arrived at around 5pm, the waiter came and took our drinks order and the drinks arrived, then we had a 20 minute wait for our food order to be taken, the starters came out and then we had to wait another 15-20 minutes after we has finished before the plates were cleared. Meanwhile there were members of staff standing around chatting, on phones and eating. The main course arrived and was ok but nobody asked if we wanted sauces or more drinks, we had to go and ask at the bar for somebody to come over. All in all not a great experience and we won't be rushing back.

   We made a pre-wedding group booking and can't praise the staff and management of The Ash Pub enough. The food was lovely and the service was very good. I personally had the rib eye steak - cooked to perfection and really enjoyable. Would definitely take the time out to go back again.

   Food lovely and big portions and nice selection . Staff opened side entrance as had wheelchair user in party. slight raised step but was able to get in easily. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking space

   We dropped in to The Ash for a quick meal after collecting family from the airport. Booking was easy via open table. The pub looked great with fairy lights all over the place. Meal was great. We went straight for the mains. Two of us had the fish and chips and the other two had lamb shank. The service was good too except they offered us tea and coffee but no desserts. Apparently it was too late for desserts but not the drinks! We would go again ....a shame the flight was delayed making the meal later. Good value for money though

    We booked a table for 10 (6 adults, 4 children) for dinner before catching our flight the next morning. Staff really friendly. Pub was impressive. Thatched roof, garden, wooden beams. Dating back to 1650 we were told. Starter and main course was really good. Most of us had lamb shank. Only downside was that we were told that the dessert would take 40 minutes to prepare. Because they did not have enough staff to cater for the number of diners, which were not that many. Including us about 30 or so. As we had a taxi waiting and had to get up really early we're we're not prestares to wait so long which was a shame. No dessert or coffeee. Couldn't finish off the meal. Recommend to arrive much earlier and allow lots of time.
