The Arlington Ratings and Reviews
Fresh Swordfish from Viking Village was great! Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Moist. Tender. FRESH. Delicious accompaniments. I asked to substitute potatoes for purple sticky rice. They were great as were the mushrooms. Quite noisy when we arrived about 8:30 Sat PM but quieted down shortly thereafter. Would like to try their brunch.
We visit the Arlington every time we stay on LBI in October, and they have never failed to impress. Food was wonderful, the drinks great, and the service impeccable. We ate there this past Sunday, and have already made reservation for this Wednesday. Got to get there at least twice during our visit.
Excellent service. Food was yummy and a good value for the quality. Plus they have bourbon on tap.... I said BOURBON ON TAP!! And its good bourbon. First time there was Sunday night; 2 brothers played music in the bar. Very talented. The bar tender and staff, professional to say the least, very attentive. Couldn't ask for a better way to end the summer of 2017. Been to the Arlington's sister, Daymark in Barnegat Light several times... these sisters aren't twins but man they are both great additions to the LBI food scene and night life. I'll be visiting both during the off season.
The Arlington is always good! It was a chilly night so I had French onion soup and the appetizer portion of rigatoni - both were good. My husband had the tomato salad and crab cakes. He was very pleased. The complimentary bread is so delicious that it's hard not to fill up on bread and resist the offer from our waitress for more!
What a disappointment! We have eaten in the bar numerous times and really enjoyed both the service and the beer but this was our first time in the dining room and we will never go back. The service was awful. After bringing our entrées out before we even had a minute to eat our appetizers, the server knocked over a glass of beer and never came back to clean it up. When we got our entrées back they had clearly been in the kitchen waiting to be brought back out and were cold. The server was disinterested and inattentive. We never got offered a replacement for the beer she spilled and no one even picked up our wet napkins we had to use to clean up the spill. Overall the food was mediocre, the room was incredibly loud and the service was horrible. Don't go unless you eat in the bar
Good beer list. Wine list is outrageously priced. For a "raw bar", the clams on the half shell were average. Crab Cakes were good but the small side dish of raw onions and carrots was salty. My wife's swordfish was average. Noise level was deafening, but it was in season (August). Many better restaurants on LBI.
This was a new addition to our dining out list on our yearly trip to LBI. We liked it. The food was good, and included several vegetarian options and several non-seafood options in case you're really tired of fish. There was an unusual craft beer list, and the wine list was reasonably priced. Service was casual and efficient. I would recommend it to friends and would go back next year.
The place is very loud with children everywhere. We were expecting good fun at a pretty beachy restaurant where we could have some drinks and share good conversation. Not this place. However, food was awesome and is perfect for families who want extremely casual. Just wasn't for me on this particular night.
We had a lot of ups and downs at the Arlington. We had a drink at the bar before our reservation. Our bartender was abrupt and unfriendly. The pear sage prosecco cocktail was inspired, though. When we sat at our table we were greeted by a waitress who never told us her name. She was nice enough but didn't seem to have time for us. After she got us our drinks she came to take our order. I had to ask her if there were any specials and after that she offered them.
The French onion soup is salty and without depth of flavor.
The rock point oysters were so good that we ordered more.
The lamb rib appetizer was too sweet and you couldn't taste the meat.
My husband liked the short ribs. I did not.
The scallops were divine but it was a weird combination of food-scallops, mussels, fingerling potatoes in a saffron sauce. The sauce left something to be desired.
The bacon mac and cheese was mediocre. You could make it better at home.
There are a lot of craft beers and cocktails here. My husband and I recommend the bar for atmosphere and eating oysters on the half shell. But that's it.
