The Arbour - Pasadena
Very good presentations of a range of menu items in a unique interior with attentive staff. I pork chop was beautifully presented and was the best I have had for some time.
This is by far one of the best restaurant in Pasadena. I have been there 4 times and every one of these times has been a culinary experience. Every dish is simply cooked to perfection. The presentation of the smoked duck breast and leg for 2 was wonderful. What aromas!! And the deserts... always leave room for desert. They are all amazing. Love this restaurant. Will be back for sure!!
Very well prepared and lovely food. Wonderful atmosphere. A special occasion place because of the price.
Other than the Bison tartare the food was really good. Service was very quick. Our server, Juan, was terrific.
A gem of a restaurant with excellent service and free parking.
Best restaurant I've had so far in the US. Excellent food, tasty, cooked perfectly and for a reasonable price, service available but not pushy! I would definitively recommend this place to whomever wants to have the best experience possible especially for the quality of the food!
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary with a party of 6 people. The food was amazing and the ambience was great. My only pet peeve is how fast they clear out the dinner plates of guests in the party who have finished eating while the rest are still trying to enjoy the dining experience. Please make it a point to clear out all plates when EVERYONE has finished eating. I would think this is a dining etiquette that should be known to restaurant owners. In addition the restaurant knew we were celebrating an anniversary and having spent close to $500 for dinner you would assume they would provide a complimentary slice of dessert. Instead they brought out small cookies since we had decided not to order coffee.... quite tacky!
Loved our meal. Wonderful service and we'll be back.
Very good service. Nice menu. Booking through open table I feel like we always get a table right by the kitchen. Next time I’ll make a note to avoid that.
We went to celebrate the holiday with friends, and a great meal was had by all.
Service is always great. Our waiter, Craig (Pasta) is great. Makes my guest feel very welcome and leaves a great impression. Restaurant always serves the best meal.
The three of us shared all of the plates. Everything was superb and more than enough. The service was outstanding and we had personal attention from Chef Ian! And, for the birthday dessert, two were brought out instead of one--again, everything was delightful!
We went on a Sunday evening, they were not too busy and we enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The food, as it has been in the past, is "spotty" in terms of presentation and taste. One recurring theme is that when rolls are served they consistently provide an inadequate supply of butter. The hamburger I enjoyed, not on the regular menu, but rather on the bar menu, was among the best I've had! The chili with the candle is okay, nothing special. The seafood salad in served in a bowl with vertical sides. The seafood sits along the bottom edges in a shape like a wreath. There is no bed of lettuce or anything that makes the appearance of this presentation interesting or even tasty. It is indeed a very bland salad. The artichoke appetizer was very nicely prepared, savory and appealing. The restaurant is certainly not a destination but rather a casual place to have a bite to eat.
Peach salad was great.
Wonderful as always! So glad we have an outstanding restaurant in Pasadena! Glad to see how busy the restaurant is on a Thursday night!
They said I made the reservation for Friday nite instead of Thursday night when I got there, but they were very nice about it and were able to seat us at a very nice table anyway.
Excellent food. Beautiful restaurant.
Probably the best meal we have had in Pasadena in a long time. Started with bison tartare, followed by artichoke hearts. Then we had the duck and finished with the California cake. Superb!
Loved our dinner---wonderful service, delicious dinner, quiet corner table--we were happy, happy. Just a great restaurant!
We haven’t been so rushed through a meal in years. So disappointed by the poor service and while the food was good it certainly wasn’t worth the price.
Favorite restaurant... food was delicious and service excellent!
Great restaurant. Consistently good food. Try the seared tuna dish with bok choy. You will not be disappointed. So yummy!
Excellent food. Great service. And good pricing. Just go.
The food quality was not there. The salad entree was not a satisfied one
Food was delicious, the ambiance was great, our waiter was very personable. If there wasn’t a screaming toddler in the background, it would have been perfect. Unfortunately, that’s out of your control.
Great ambiance (but a little noisy) and interior; fantastic service and food is very good and good value too.
Always consistently good food and great service! Our server Won is the best!
The staff are very helpful and friendly, the ambience is warm and welcoming and everything I ate was delicious! Our friends were there for the first time and raved about it.
Lovely space, nice lighting, attractive bar, warm efficient service. We could hear each other talk, which is a rarity these days, and the food and drink were terrific. My steak was perfectly done, as was my wife's sea bass. The wine our waitperson suggested was very good, and the dessert was delicious. True, the "happy anniversary" written in chocolate on the plate should have read "happy birthday" but if that's the only complaint we had, it was pretty easy to overlook. We'll go back on our anniversary just to see what they write on that dessert.
Creatively prepared food. Good service. Good vibe. All adds to a great experience. We'll be back.
Our first experience at The Arbour was an unforgettable one! Living just down the road we’d been waiting for a special occasion to dine here. Our waitress asked if we’d like to try the wine we thought we wanted a bottle of and she brought both that and a similar wine. It was the right call— we ended up with the wine she recommended! We had the ribeye for two as our entree and they brought it to the table to present it before carving. Great presentation! It’s the kind of service and quality of food you expect from a high-end restaurant. The problem in LA is that many restaurants are “high-end” and the food is marginal and the service is below average. They’re just trendy so they can charge a high price. THIS is not that kind of restaurant. The Arbour is fantastic in every way and we were happy to have finally made it there for dinner!
Fantastic food! I love how they change up the menu depending often.
Still consistent ...my favorite Pasadena restraunt
This is my fourth time coming here and it's never disappointing. The food is amazing, the service is impeccable and the wine list is first class! The only downside MIGHT be the noise level, but I could still hear my friend talking and she could hear me, so I guess it's not a huge downside.
Had a great experience at Arbour. Gary and the the rest of the team that took care of us did an excellent job. The food was perfection. The pacing was great. I would eat there again.
We had a very nice evening with good food and friends. Our waiter was great and didn’t rush us which was nice. I was even able to suggest a few ingredients for the bartender to make me a surprise concoction. Yum!
The service was atrocious. Doubtful that I will go back.
Excellent ambiance, service and food. Waitress Cecily (sp?) was super. Great ambiance, very nice place in Pasadena.
Stopped in for a last minute dinner date. Always a great place for that and special occasions. Service, food and drinks are consistently very good! Greta addition to the South Lake area!
