The Arbour - Pasadena
We were there for Valentine's Day. The offers were pricey but not overly expensive.
They ran out of the appetizer my wife and I wanted. At the end of the evening, we learned they had thrown out the 1/2 of the meal my wife hadn't eaten and was going to take home.
Also, at the prices, I think a small glass of champagne should have been added.
On the positive side, to make up for their errors, they let my wife choose a "midcourse" for her appetizer, and they cooked a whole new serving of the food they threw out for us to take home. This is exactly what should have been done.
The food was ok but not as good as the last time I was there. I am unsure that this was due to Valentine's Day. We'll probably give this place another chance, but not in the very near future.
Valentine’s Day
The general service was good, bartenders were a little slow however. Also, the table booked through reservation was changed by the restaurant. Overall a good experience.
I chose this restaurant for our Valentines Day dinner, on recommendation from a friend. The food was good, the ambiance was nice, and the service was okay. But for a special dinner I would have picked another place. For every day, it was good.
We have been to Arbour several times and enjoy it a lot. Our favorite waiter is Jeramy. He did rush us and yet he was very attentive
Pretty pricy, but great for special occasions! The Duck was excellent!
This place is really beautiful, artsy and the food amazing! We both had the lamb and it was heaven. If you are looking for a beautiful, romantic and eat food that is art, come to the Arbor. We are are most certainly coming back!!
Got seated in a horrible table way in the corner. The food was ok but lacked seasoning. Dessert menu was scant.
The Arbour us extraordinary restaurant that has brought new life to the Lake St area in Pasadena
Great restaurant, Rose the manager was very accommodating and helpful in making our visit very pleasant.
Every dish was perfectly executed. Delicious!! Plenty of parking behind restaurant.
The Arbour was a great experience for us on our first visit. Our waiter was very attentive and answered many of our questions, the ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful and the food was delicious. I would recommend to friends and I would definitely visit again.
Attentive, friendly service. Delicious food and convenient, free parking , always an extra star for me!
If you haven't tried The Arbour in Pasadena ~ you really should. Beautifully designed classic, clean lines, every detail was well thought out for a relaxing meal to share with family, friends, or a business meeting. The wait staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable concerning all items offered on menu. The menu has some interesting items I've never tried before and classic offerings also. I loved the chilli appetizer. The salad lettuce tasted like it was just picked out of the garden. All of the pasta is homemade and so good. My husband liked the rack of lamb. This is a local farm to table, seasonal, including fish and meat, kind of place. The award winning chief/owner has poured his heart into this place. He will bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy one of the very best meals you've ever had.
Oh and a beautiful full bar and fun interesting wine list. Promise you won't be disappointed
My friend and I enjoyed a very leisurely lunch, enjoying delicious courses, while catching up on months of conversation. We both expected the servings to probably be small when noting the reasonable lunchtime prices, but I took home part of my golden beet and baby kale salad, and we both were able to save half of the very generously portioned, delicious short rib with wild mushroom sauce entrees. We shared dessert, which was a thin layer of chocolate cake, topped with chocolate mousse, with a poached pear and berries atop that, all in a base of coconut crème. We agreed that it was a perfect meal ending, rich, but not heavy. Since we spent such an extended time there, with absolutely no pressure from our very helpful and attentive-when-needed waitperson, we felt that we received great value all around for our fairly priced meals. I am recommending The Arbour to my friends and family as a great place to eat wonderfully prepared dishes.
Great food, great service! Reasonable price.
Will go again.
We dined at the Arbour for our 47th wedding anniversary. We wanted to celebrate somewhere special, and the Arbour certainly is. Wife had starter salad and sea bass; husband had the tagliatelle starter and rack of lamb. The food was absolutely outstanding.
If I could give more than 5 stars for the prompt, polite, informative, and extremely personable service, I would do so. Our server was Jeremy. It was a pure delight to meet him. When I saw him again the next day, he even remembered my name and the topic of our conversation at the table.
We'll be back.
Food was delicious! This was my second time going there and highly recommend it The food is spectacular and service is awesome! I ordered the diver scallops which where cooked to perfection.
Wonderful. Lights need a dimmer switch. Made it too institutional for such a lovely room.
Once again we had a great dinner The Arbour, now my favorite restaurant in Pasadena. All five of us enjoyed our meals immensely, and the service was excellent.
The food was very good. Certainly one of the top restaurants in this area. It is noisy.
Delicious! Smoked duck - yum. The best service and staff! Friendly, warm, professional, and attentive.
Amazing. First time eating there, it was the best meal I have had front to back in a while. Server was Pasta and he was on point and delivered great service all night long.
We've been coming here often and on this visit the service was not quite up to par although the food was delicious and the server was very congenial. Will return of course.
The Arbour was good and enjoyable. We all had different dishes:
Steak: It was medium/well which would have been better as medium rare (with a little red) because it lacked flavor (according to my partner).
Chicken: My friend really enjoyed her chicken which looked quite tasty.
Lamb Chops: Those were very nice and tasty. I couldn't munch on the bones without looking like a savage though.
Wine: It had a bit of fine cork bits swimming in it - which the bartender should have noticed but in the end I did not complain about it and opted just to drink it.
We have been to The Arbour a number of times and each experience has been great. Service is top notch, food is stellar - every dish expertly prepared. The owner & chef, Ian, is down to earth and wants diners to have an outstanding experience. Perfect spot for special occasion, place to impress your date too...
Our first time at Arbour and we were very excited. Tagliatelle great. Salads great. Risotto great. Excellent martini. We will be back - the entrees are pricey - most over 30 dollars - but salad and first course were enough for us!
Delicious food and great service- worth the price for fine dining where every item is excellent.
My new favorite place in Pasadena! I was really looking forward to trying it and sure enough, it delivered on so many levels.
The food was much better before but the service and all other things are consistent.
Amazing food, owners are awesome, everything perfect.
I LOVE this place. We all sit and chat about what courses we are ordering so we can taste each other’s. So yummy, great wine, awesome attention from a staff who is obviously passionate about their food and our experience. Will go back every time we are in Pasadena.
Had a great experience at The Arbour last Saturday night for our 17th wedding anniversary. Split the Rib Eye, which was great (but pricey - probably would go for the New York strip loin steak next time). Best of all was Jeremy our waiter! Thanks, again, Jeremy for the great recommendations, service and stories of Italy! Hope to be back soon.
What really stood out about this restaurant was the service. (Don't get me wrong, the food was outstanding as well). Wait staff were efficient, responsive and plentiful. One 8-top was serviced by an army of quiet and swift professionals perfectly coordinated as if the whole thing had been choreographed. As they say, "You get what you pay for." And this place, happily, delivers.
This was my second visit to The Arbour, and it reminded me why I loved it the first time! From the moment you step into the beautifully designed space, you know you're in for a memorable experience. The staff were all friendly and knowledgable. The menu focuses on high quality local ingredients, with flavors coaxed to their full potential by the talented kitchen team. Everything we had was delicious from start to finish. The wine and beverage program is well curated, featuring unique selections from the California coast. I highly recommend The Arbour and look forward to my next visit.
They food & desserts were delicious. Service was knowledgeable & excellent. I will be returning & recommending. Thank you!
Food and service are very good at The Arbour. I highly recommend the spicy beef chili with the beef fat candle, the fish, and the NY strip. The baked california was also very good but needed to burn much longer.
This was my first time having dinner at Arbour. My wife had lunch with a group at Arbour the day before and thought it might be a good experience. The ambience is pleasant with exposed rafters, fireplaces, etc. A bit live in terms of ambient sound which makes talking a bit difficult at times. The service is excellent and attentive. The food is fine, but certainly not outstanding. I had the boneless steak which was cut into two chunks, a contemporary practice that I, for one, do not like. When a steak remains whole, the meat holds the temperature, but when cut into two chunks, the meat looses temperature and by the time you get to the last few bites, the meat is cold. Altogether a pleasant dining experience.
A beautiful setting with wonderful food and service.. impeccable!
Excellent food. Pasta, sea bass and smoked duck (an amazing smoking presentation) and bubbling scallops. We are fans.
