Great ambiance. Decent food/brunch but the Hot Toddy Cacao drink is not good.
This was our first time eating at the Apparatus. We had drinks at the bar last year when in town and drinks were great as I remembered. I had a martini and it was made perfectly. The food was very good. A lot of variety and tasty appetizers. The food was plentiful just with the appetizers we probably did not even need to get entree's. The main courses were very good and we had plenty to bring home. I enjoy mostly the atmosphere and the warmth of the building. Service was very good but waitress was a little chatty. We will recommend it to others as we will return when back in Detroit.
Fantastic Service and Food!! We will definitely be back.
Great food, beautiful decor, great vibe. Highly recommend!
The jazz brunch was really cool. Definitely recommended.
Amazing experience from start to finish! Highly recommend!
Sean did a great job, good service, food was delicious. Great ambiance
Good Atmosphere..Nice lounge area to grab a drink before or after dinner. Interesting menu, food was great!
Fantastic service, interesting and delicious food, great vibe!
Very good! Excellent service. A little pricey for a family of three (275 including tip) . But it was a special occasion.
The vibe was not very good. Was expecting more from a Thursday evening. The food was just ok, somewhat overpriced for the portions.
The worst part was the overall layout of the place. I don't care much for cafeteria style seating. Private tables and booths would have been better. Visually it was nice looking, but boy that seating layout....not for me.
The service was just ok. Our waiter was not too attentive and forgot a few orders and requests. For the money, I would not recommend the place.
We enjoyed the cauliflower app, pork shank, short ribs, and brussel sprouts.
Service was friendly, helpful, and efficient.
The only criticism I have is that our reservation was mid-week so there were not an abundance of diners in the restaurant; yet we were seated directly next to another 2-top. It felt like we were so close to the other diners, with plenty of capacity to seat us with more space for conversation.
Fantastic! Elegant without being stuffy and SO delicious. Highly recommend the chef selection!
Coffee arrived cold. Server was inattentive. Food was very good. Obviously, the first 2 issues are correctable.
Meeting old friends while in town for a wedding. Loved the ambience and dinner was great!
The atmosphere was fun and gave off a good vibe. Loved the high ceiling and overall decor. Really enjoyed the open kitchen concept too.
The vegetable portion that came with our trout order was too small as compared to the meat.
The service was pleasant and timely. We also appreciated the little gesture of writing "Happy Anniversary" on our dessert platter.
We enjoyed our time and we will come back.
Love the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. Staff is attentive and very good. Food and drink are great.
Excellent food and service ! It is going to be one of my favorite spots now
Thoroughly enjoyed the time spent here from the lavender Collins sipped on a comfy fire side chair while awaiting our table to the comfy banquette seating in the dining room. Complete satisfaction with the wheat bread with honey garlic spread and the beef tartar and marrow bone apps. It just kept getting better and better. Split the whole chicken with kale salad. Nice spicy punch to the salty fatty crispy chicken. The coffee and desserts put it over the top. The pear and white chocolate concoction was heavenly. Service was excellent too. Looking forward to visiting again.
We had a lovely table, a nice meal and good service
We waited 35 minutes to get a table, despite having a reservation.
Brunch was mediocre at best. Dinner service is clearly their forté.
We enjoyed the late night seating for NYE dinner. It paired well with the live entertainment. The food portions were huge, and felt like we wasted too much food. But food quality and what was served, tasted excellent.
It's such a cool place. The ambiance, the history, the food is amazing and the staff are outstanding. We've been there several times and spending New Year's Eve there was fantastic.
The evening was two thumbs up.
The Valet was prompt and courteous.
The Hostess seated us quickly and answered questions about the room decor.
Our Server could not have been more helpful with menu suggestions.
The food, salmon and braised short ribs were both appreciated and enjoyed.
The desserts were equally amazing.
The Mixologist did an admirable job with the drinks ordered.
Food was very sauce heavy. All of our dishes felt like there was too much going on and it was hard to get through all of our meals.
Outstanding venue! Great atmosphere, the service was crisp but not rushed, and the food excellent and creative. A little pricey, but what a special experience!
GORGEOUS surroundings. Truly a sumptuous place to relax and drink and dine. The historical nature of the building and GRAND scale of everything is a treat in and of itself. The food was wonderful (BRUNCH). Drinks were creative and delightful. Table of 7. Service was inconsistent and undependable. We will be back and hope for better more attentive service next time. Sophisticated and hip and romantic.
Some of the best food I've ever tasted in my life!
Consistently one of the best restaurants in Detroit. Great food in an incredible setting.
We were in town visiting family & could only visit 1 restaurant. Sooo glad we chose this place. Love the decor. Did such a good job renovating this old firehouse. They kept the good stuff & added modern chicness. The staff was friendly & attentive. The drinks & food were excellent. Wish I could transport this restaurant to CA!
Not only did they take care of us, I got a couple extra treats because it was my birthday! Above and beyond!
Was what we expected. An enjoyable experience overall
Excellent ambience, good food, good drinks!!!!!
Amazing food, fabulous service, beautiful ambiance!
Server was excellent.
I was disappointed with the service for Christmas dinner. Was not asked if we wanted the wine pairing and then made to feel wrong when I asked for it when the first course was brought out. Food itself was excellent as were the wines. I expect better service at this price point $320 for 2 ppl.
Had the Holiday PreFixe. A lot of food, but all 5 courses were portioned well and well throughout. Scott our server, was excellent in describing the night and gave great selection of wine. Overall very satisfying experience. A return visit in the near future for sure.
We came for Christmas brunch. Had a little wait in the beginning but the establishment acknowledged it and made sure that we were well taken care of by comping an appetizer and first round of drinks. The rest of service was perfect and management came by a few times to verify we were satisfied so all in all it was great.
Awesome dinner on Christmas Eve with the family!
Definitely going to return next time we visit the D.
