Awesome Sunday jazz brunch.
The bell that kept ringing for food pick up has to the the most annoying sound ever and totally ruined the whole experience. You are not a diner get rid of the bell
I made a reservation and still had to wait 45 mins if not more to be seated. They do have ample bar space with attentive servers to accommodate those who wait but the wait wasn’t worth it. Food was good but not great. Atmosphere was very nice.
It was a good experience. Good drinks and great food. The only thing that bothered me was after making a reservation for 8 pm we were not seated 20 min or so later.
We had a marvelous dining experience. Loved the Food and atmosphere. We would have preferred it to be quieter in the dining area as it was difficult to here each other, but that would be my only recommendation.
We brought friends from out of town here to celebrate a night out. The staff was great and the food was amazing. We love this place and will go back when we can
The food is always AMAZING. It's a little pricey, but they always deliver. It's worth the money spent and the trip into the city. Valet parking is a plus as well & it's only $10. Can't wait for our next visit.
Fabulous bar and drinks, service was excellent, food was fabulous. Perfect date night spot. We will be going back to try the Chef's table menu for sure!!
My husband and I are currently checking off new Detroit restaurants and were excited to come here. The service was great, the cocktails were delicious, meal and dessert were perfect. We loved the ambiance and the decor. We did note that it was a little loud but not so much that we couldn’t carry on a conversation. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!
Drink with no name
Michigan Heritage Chicken
Ontario Sea Buckthorn
Food was great and service was prompt! Overall great experience!
Ambiance and service were great, food was just ok for the price. The bread with pimento cheese was fantastic, squid ink pasta was pretty good, my husband's braised pork chop was good, but my scallops weren't great--too mushy. We liked the drinks. Overall I'd maybe try it again and order something different. We had a good time, but I wasn't wowed.
Service was inattentive compared to lady of the house, Besa, shewolf, townhouse, and San morello. Lots of staff, all standing around. Took ages between drinks while they sat empty. Food was good but seemed mass produced rather than freshly made. Small portions for large prices.
We loved this place so much. The food was delicious, the decor is super nice and the atmosphere is really nice.
Has a wonderful time, got seated right away, our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. They were very quick in replacing the dishes between courses and the food was excellent. Defined small portions but delicious.
Will be back!
This is the second time I’ve tried to take a guest to the restaurant. The staff is great and the food is good but both times I’ve made a reservation on open table I’ve had to wait 45 mins + on arrival for a table and the restaurant doesn’t seem to care. They blame it on not knowing how long it takes for people to eat at their place. It’ll be the last time I bring an out of town guest to have a great meal. Each time I’m excited to show them a lovely restaurant with great food, but I end up feeling embarrassed by a ridiculous wait time. The food is great and staff is nice but they need to figure some things out before they offer open table reservations.
Perfect in every way!
What a gem of a restaurant in the middle of Detroit. Went here for lunch with a friend while there was a convention going on. Service was top notch and they have an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared fresh. The menu has a wide variety of options and the drink menu was extensive. Cannot wait to try this place again
Service was great. Very knowledgeable. Outstanding space . Good flow from lounge to bar to dining. Small plates were great for sharing. Wonderful flavors!!
Amazing experience! Love the history of the building. The food was amazing! The flavors 😍 The ambiance 👍🏽👍🏽 The service 🏆 Can’t wait for any excuse to come back!!
The service and food quality did not meet my expectations. Restaurant is over rated.
Service was good, attentive, not annoying. Food was tasty, nice presentation, portion sizes small, over priced. Nice place to have a drink and a snack....lively atmosphere....bit noisy for a relaxing meal. Not great value for prices. Dessert (chocolate) was delicious.....$12.... 2 bites...but delicious! Drink prices reasonable....wine and cocktails.
Valet was nice to have as an option especially on a rainy evening. Our server was very attentive and knowledgable. Our favorites included the deviled eggs, salmon tartare, porcini ravioli, Maurice salad, and scallops. For dessert, the peach crisp was bland unfortunately. Fun atmosphere.
The best meal I have had in a long time. Every dish that we had was just as good as the others. The was not a single dish that we thought was bad! Chef Tom is still as good if not better! I want to come back to Detroit just to eat here again!
Excellent food, but waited almost an hour past our reservation and then server was very rude as she went through the motions of her job instead of providing a positive dining experience. Wanted to order appetizers soon after being seated since we had waited so long for the table and were unable to have appetizers in the bar because of no seating. In a very nasty tone, she told us we couldn’t order apps., and had to place the order for apps and meals at the same time. I understand the reason for that rule, but after such a long wait, despite having made reservations, the server should be focused on making the customer happy.
We had a reservation but arrived early and were told our table would be ready in 15 minutes. No problem - we were more than happy to have a drink at the bar. However, 15 minutes turned in to 30+ minutes and we were not seated at our table until 15 minutes past the reservation time. We then waited another 15 minutes before our waitress came over to assist us - which appeared to be no fault of hers as the hostess seemed concerned about sitting us in such a busy section to begin with.
After such a bumpy start to the evening, the food and rest of the service thankfully made up for it. We ordered the chef’s tasting menu which was delicious and more than enough variety of food to satisfy. Thank you to the chef for such an amazing spread! Our waitress and the rest of the staff who brought our food were enthusiastic and helpful as we progressed through each course. We will be back.
Love this place! One of my favorites! Top notch gem in the city
The food quality was not comparable to the atmosphere and history of the building. I had been wanting to visit some opening and although I loved the atmosphere and company of my friend, neither if us felt the food was very good
Outstanding in every way. We will be back!
Service was fantastic! A number of people greeted us when we entered, then kept checking in on us. They even sat us early - ahead of our reservation time. Then, Dawn was a superb waitress! Very attentive and knowledgeable about the drink & food menu. Her recommendations were spot on! Then, they even treated us to a special anniversary dessert (they asked us for any special requests when they called the morning of to confirm the reservation). Atmosphere was beautifully warm & inviting. Excited to come back in the future!
Place is beautiful, food is great, drinks are tasty!
Food was good. Not exceptional. Cauliflower bites were good but had way too much vinegar on em, potato risotto was good. Good tables are held for regulars it seems.
This place is truly exceptional!!! Highly, highly recommend doing the Chef’s Choice. Be prepared for a lot of amazing food 😊
A unique and unforgettable experience! Highly recommended-cant wait to return!
Just an ok experience food was missing the salad salmon was tasteless dessert was good Not somewhere I would go back
This is a very nice place. I will go back. Breakfast and dinner was great. The layout and ambiance makes for a relaxing experience.
The experience and the food was wonderful and lived up to the hype.
Went for Friday brunch and not many people but the service was SO slow to take orders, for beverage service, and server never checked in on us. Brunch menu is very small.
The food was fantastic. The wait staff knew about every dish and could explain it in detail.
I have gone to 5 Michelin star restaurants around the world, of these 3 have been 3 star. I was informed this was a 2 star. My expectation was high. I enjoyed the location, parking was easy. The hostess to seat us (knowing it was an anniversary) sat us at a 4 chaired table (hint, there were 2 chair - semi private/cozy tables available).
The service was good. Waitress was prompt, chatty and attentive to questions we had. The food presentation was very good. Unfortunately my ravioli broth was too salty, and the sauce on my salmon was about the same.. I wondered if someone thought they hadn't added salt to the broth. I did mention it to the waitress as an FYI but no feedback from the kitchen.
The only other downer was the type of music and the loudness of it. Slightly distracting at times.
I think the concept is great, the location is comforting, cool charm of being situated in an old fire house.
I think a slight change to the music choice/volume and a little attention from the exec chef on the evening serving sauces and your on your way to another star.
Four of us enjoyed the chef’s menu, what a treat that was!
