The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant.

    One of Chef’s favorite food memories was the first time he tasted true Texas BBQ somewhere outside of Austin, Texas. On the heels of that memory, we’ve decided to take a break from our normal menu during the entire week of the July 4th holiday to do a special BBQ “pop-up.” We’ll be featuring all the hits (and more) - brisket, pork ribs, smoked chicken wings, pimento cheese, potato salad, banana cream pie, and all the sauces your heart desires. We’re excited to announce the menu shortly, but in the meantime we’d encourage you to reserve a spot for you and yours - whatever day your heart desires. Tickets are $50 per guest. The ticket includes a choice of 3 of our 5 offered proteins, 3 of our 6 classic BBQ sides & of course, Texas Toast. We'll have some additional proteins and sides available a la carte - as BBQ should be; you might even see a lamb burger or proper fried chicken. Time will tell. Regardless, the full menu will be released shortly. We're excited for this one, and we suspect you will be too.

    I am an adventurous eater, but was very disappointed in the food at Aperture. They describe themselves as a fusion restaurant but I can say that the two predominant flavors were that of pistachios and Indian spices. They serve small plates to share and many of the dishes we ordered started tasting the same. I have to say the Gravlax dish was amazing. There is no bread service, we said we were willing to pay and we were served one sandwich size slice, no butter or olive oil, then charged $12 for the "one" slice of bread. The charred carrots had so many Indian spices you could not taste the carrots. The most expensive dish on the menu was Iberia pork which was delicious except for the side dishes which were a bean and corn combo again drowning in Indian spices which for us were inedible. Dessert also was disappointing. I ordered a Pavlova with lemon curd. The lightness of the meringue was drowned in a heavy lemon curd and whole/chopped pistachios (which were also on my appetizer dish of gravlax). A dessert of this lightness should have had ground not chopped pistachios.

    This was my 2nd time at The Aperture. And is was as phenomenal as the first time. It’s all the rage and it’s all true. Best restaurant in Cincinnati and I will be a regular.

    We had a lovely time and dinner experience. We even enjoyed the service. Especially when at the end of our meal we were given a gift card and glasses of cava as we were there to celebrate our anniversary. However, it was brought to my attention, by the gift giver, that the gift card was not from the restaurant as implied. I was embarrassed to be caught out looking unappreciative. It was an otherwise perfect experience. Each dish better than the last and a wine and cocktail list with something to pair perfectly. Sas that we were left with a bad taste.

    Food was fabulous. We tried 10 different things and the blueberry sorbet. Everything was wonderful and a different mix flavors. Service was flawless. Dan navigated us thru the menu selections and volume perfectly. A fun place to go with a group.

    We chose to celebrate our 20th anniversary at The Aperture. After reading so many articles about their accolades, we had to try it out! We were seated next to the open kitchen which I love. We started with the smoked Mackerel and the charred carrots followed by the mafaldine and the buckwheat gnochetti. Everything was so full of flavor. A lot of which I was not familiar with but now I want more! We shared the Iberico pork. That was the star! So tender, juicy. Please keep it on the menu! Finished off with the white chocolate tart. Servers were attentive and very knowledgeable. Answered all of our questions. They even brought us a champagne toast for our anniversary. We’ll be back for sure!

    Another great meal at Aperture. We brought friends who hadn’t been there before we all loved it. Great cocktails too. We had dinner before going to the Jazz club, Cafe Vivace, a block away. Great night in East Walnut Hills.

    The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing! I loved the cucumbers with ricotta, the duck dish and the Branzino. Highly recommend it
