WELCOME TO THE ANTLER ROOM
A casual restaurant/bar named after the famous 1930s venue in Kansas City’s very own Hospital Hill, The Antler Room showcases Nicholas and Leslie Goellner’s experiences abroad with use of local ingredients. Come enjoy new, inspired dishes where the flavors lend to almost anything goes—very much like our early namesake.
Sun, Wed, Thur: 5:00pm - 10:00pm
Fri, Sat: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
Faboulous all around (as always) - phenomenal food, appropriately attentive staff, great atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back.
Awesome, creative. Superb service. Unusual to have something I haven't had before. Highly recommend.
We had a 30+ min wait even with a reservation, but aside from the wait, dinner was fantastic. Great service after we were seated. I think our party of 6 ordered just about the entire menu and everything was delicious. Highly recommend this place.
Exciting menu with unique combinations of foods and cuisines. Who ever thought of pairing crispy squid, beef tongue and green curry? Every dish was a palate-pleaser. Great vegetable options (the Pakora with salted yogurt and lime syrup!), tasty pastas, and savory dishes (the octopus was melt-in-your mouth delicious). Definitely a place I want to return to soon. Only complaints would be the chairs were uncomfortable and the noise-level made it difficult to hear others at our table.
This could be my new favorite restaurant. Food was delicious and service was stellar. Loved the ambiance and general vibe of the place. Yay for KC!
Great food and great drinks. Tiny little gem in KC with innovative styles and forward thinking cuisine.
Creativity and imagination define the cuisine. It is basically modern upscale continental cuisine filling a big whole in the Kansas City culinary scene. It was about time to be able to get away from the cookie cutters menus of Kansas City restaurants. If it was not for the noise level, which could be remedied somewhat by tablecloths and getting the south wall covered with a non sound reflectant surface, it would be perfect. Great way to sample many options and at good prices. Great wine selection.
this restaurant is incredible! So many creative ingredient combinations, and everything tasted great. I was here on a. date and we both were very impressed! We will definitely be back
Leslie and Nick have brought innovative, delicious food to KC. Great atmosphere, wine list, ambiance!
What an amazing meal! Exotic flavors with gorgeous presentations!
We love this restaurant. Amazing, creative food and great service. The owners are local and they source food locally, which is a big plus. Enjoyed the upstairs area for a private party for our larger group. We agree with Bon Appetit when they named the Antler Room as one of the top new restaurants in the country.
It was amazing. The grilled octopus was the best thing we ate!
We dined early on a week night so it was not very crowed until we were leaving. The food was very interesting, tasty and different. Every thing was very well done.
The food was very appealing and excellent!! It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion!
We went to the Antler Room to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were first seated by the closed garage door and it was a bit drafty. (We were there in late March). We asked to move over a table and once we did that we were fine.
This is a tapas restaurant and we were advised to pick 8 dishes for the three of us. You have to pick out everything up front but they bring it out in stages so that you can enjoy each dish. The food was wonderful! The service was very good and the wine menu was pretty extensive, though a bit pricey.
If you are looking for interesting menu choices and don't mind paying for exquisite food, you should definitely visit The Antler Room.
Best restaurant in Kansas City without question. Absolutely impeccable food service and drinks. Blown away with every item.
We have been to this restaurant many times. The food here is intelligently sourced and prepared. The chef’s creativity is phenomenal. The cooking is honest and unpretentious. By far the best restaurant in town.
The service is always courteous. The wine list is very interesting.
After each meal, we are always eager to go back to see the new dishes being offered.
The food was remarkably delicious and unique. The service was prompt from a polite and personable staff.
Beautiful meal. Service was impeccable, each dish was paced perfectly, left so satisfied. Always feel like I get a bargain for the experience at The Antler Room. Can’t wait to try brunch!
Met up with a couple of friends to thank them for dog sitting. Our tastes are diverse, to say the least. Two of us would eat anything, one is allergic to dairy and avoids meat and the last has a more traditional, comfort food preference. Even with these parameters, we all found something to love. Our service (on a Wednesday) was excellent. My husband and I had a drink at the bar while we waited for our friends. The bartender was attentive and friendly and their happy hour menu was diverse enough to appeal to most any taste and still get a bargain, not to mention it ran until 7.
With 15 dishes on their menu and a proposed 10-12 dishes to meet our needs, we ordered all but five and were pleased with them all. Ingredients were fresh, dishes were inventive and the pacing was perfect. Our servers gave excellent descriptions of our dishes and helped us navigate dishes with dairy.
We look forward to our next visit. We recommend the Antler Room to anyone looking for a understated, but memorable experience.
Great service. Amazing food. Love our neighborhood restaurant.
Food was unique and delicious! I loved every dish we tried.
Amazing food and tremendous service.
Creative menu, beautifully executed. A paradise for foodies. Charming, classy, cozy venu off the beaten path but conveniently located near Crown Center. One of the very top places in KC>
Nice place with a good wine list and interesting food options for dinner. Sat at the bar first for a couple of drinks before dinner and the bartender could not have been better to work with and be around. Will definitely go back!
It is amazing to have an intimate restaurant with food of this caliber in Kansas City!
Had a great time, wonderful food and awesome service
Fantastic food and surprising tastes. Small plates aren’t so small and one of my top 5 memorable meals in KC this past decade. Amazing food, great value, and drink selection was perfect. Few tables and close seating. Definitely heading back and highly recommend.
Truly one of the finest places to dine in not only Kansas City, but any where. Nick, owner and chef, spent time cooking at NOMA in Copenhagen, named best restaurant in the world several times over. Kansas City is most fortunate to have he and his wife Leslie creating such delicious and memorable dining!
Had an 8:45 reservation. They didn’t seat us until 9:15. Ordered 6 items and only got two before we had to leave. We had to be somewhere at 10:30. The food that we got was great. We left disappointed.
We felt rushed. The dishes, as usual, were excellent but it was hard to enjoy them. We ordered four dishes at the start, as requested. We were about half-way through the first dish when the second arrived. We were less than half-way through the second when the third and fourth arrived together. Which one do we eat while it is hot? Or do we rush through all three? Quite frustrating. In addition, the dishes here are complex and it is good to get an explanation of what each contains when it arrives since we did not memorize the menu. No such luck. In the end, we felt like we were eating at a fast-food restaurant. Eat and go, please!
The food, service and appeal was excellent!
Food was incredible just so busy it was a little slow. We don’t mind that too much.
Beautiful venue and ambience. The service was terrific. Both of our meals were terrific but after ogling the orders of other diners, we are going to go back to try something else.
The food was AMAZING. Really enjoyed our meal. Our server was very attentive w/ just right amount of attention. Like the pace of the tapas delivery. Modern Decor is a bit spartan but it is a small place. Will visit again!
Everything was delicious but the pasta was outstanding!!
Lovely as ever
Ate at the bar. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Food was delicious and the server nailed the wine pairings. Fabulous experience.
With its creative and meticulously executed menu, the Antler Room is deserving of its reputation as a destination restaurant. The small plates are ideal for diners seeking a variety of dishes and tastes. The pasta offerings were uniformly excellent as were the desserts. Since we were a party of three we eschewed the bar for a table and it's proximity to the restrooms a distraction. The excellent cocktails and bustling bar will be our choice on a return when we are a party of two. The only glitch was one of pacing and we waited almost 20 minutes between plates three and four. Fortunately the wait person became aware of the situation and remaining dishes delivered at a better pace.
Highly recommended and definitely an excellent value for quality of offerings.
Had an early reservation, and the place quickly filled up. Smallish space, and felt cramped with the table next to us, but likely not much can be done about that. Service slowed quite a bit once it got busy. Server recommended 5-6 plates for two which was spot on. Almost 30 mins between our 3 and 4th before the rest came. Food was nice, well presented, and interesting menu.
Food was amazing. A little pricy, but worth it for the quality.
