The Angel in Broomfield is a country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

The Angel dates back to the 15th century and was originally a hall house with north and south wings which became an inn around 1702. On Jubilee Day in 1898, a letter reports that around sixty people sat down to dinner at seven o'clock to toast the Queen and sing the National Anthem.

Steak and ale pie, meat was tough and full of fat, Hunters chicken was tasty but quite small

Staff were very helpful although run off their feet. Large groups and not enough staff. Still lovely starter. Wouldn’t order hunter chicken again but my burger was nice. Overall nice.

We were impressed by the extensive menu, including a vegan menu. The atmosphere was informal and it was nice to be able to bring our dog. It would have been nice if the staff had been friendlier and more welcoming. No-one greeted us or came to see what we would like to eat and when the food we ordered at the bar arrived, we had to wait a few minutes for our cutlery to be brought to us.

Booked table for 5 head office booked for 2 no table left as father's day offered table outside too hot plus no umbrella sorted inside not a table plus armchair seats fish Luke warm pudding plate very hot food Luke warm bill incorrect overcharged -due to set meal cost different till not set up ect ect -shame not a great family / fathers day

The service was sloppy, food was cold, when complained was told "well it is Sunday and we are busy!" DONT GO THERE

Lovely place to eat. Went for Mother's Day and really pleased. Great service. Food was lovely and surroundings very pleasant. Would definitely recommend
