It was closed when we arrived. Very disappointed. They had a freezer issue I guess, but they should have let us know!
Our group of 6 had made an advanced reservation on line for brunch at 11:30. Our table was not ready when we arrivewd, we waited while server quickly wiped it down before we sat down. We were not given napkins and silverware until I asked at which time the server was extremely rude, went and got it and aggressively went around the table practically throwing it at each us. Everything went down hill from there... mediocre adult beverages that were too expensive, ($10 ea. for mimosa and bloody mary) bad, clearlyt leftover and cold coffee, no condiments offered such as jams for english muffins, and "egg beaters" in all omlettes rather than real fresh eggs. Overall, a very bad experience and would not recommend breakfast and or brunch at the Anchorage.
The food was subpar at best. I would think that a resturant in that location, that has the clientelle of the Sunapee region would try harder for the prices they are charging. The server, while friendly, had no clue what was on the menu or how to work a table.
We dined here at sundown on a February Saturday, just before it got very busy. My wife's salmon was underdone but they fixed it. My meatloaf was ok, better with some pepper. The desserts were unenticing to us.
We did not try drinks, except for a hot chocolate for my wife, which she enjoyed.
But our server Amelia was great, the place was friendly, the view was classic New England, and we both enjoyed the photos on the walls.
Place was awful, food was really not good. Band was coming in and out of the door for over an hour on one of the coldest nights of the year. Most of the ladies in the place were eating in there winter jackets! Would not go back.
Food was very good..ample portions..nice surroundings..good service. Would definitely recommend.
