We all had fish and chips,in all honesty, firstly what was supposed to be the large size meal, really wasn’t. The fish was quite tasteless, and chips were obviously cooked with not the best of potatoes,as they were quite bland. None of us sadly, particularly enjoyed the meal. Lovely setting beside the river, just a shame that the food is not up to scratch

Underwhelming. Disappointing steak, sticky table, forgettable experience.

I really like this pub particularly for its riverside setting (I've only ever sat outside). The Sunday roast we had was good and I'd give it 4 stars. However this is the 2nd occasion out of the 3 times I've had dessert at the pub that I've been quite shocked at the quality. The first time was a truly awful chocolate brownie. This time, two of us ordered 'mixed berry Eton mess' which I thought would be safe enough (how can you ruin something so simple?) but we were presented with 'mixed berry Eton mess sundae' which was mostly vanilla ice cream, with some bits of meringue and maybe a bit of cream and a sickly sweet mixed berry syrup that tasted rather like strawberry jam (no fresh fruit at all) and a slightly stale tasting waffle cone on top. And to charge £9 for that! I will keep coming here because I love the area but it's the last time I'll order dessert. It really lets down the pub.

Enjoyed the fixed price menu. My meal was definitely better than my husband’s ,as the risotto was a bit bland (too green),I had the sea bass . Will definitely recommend and visit again. But the dessert s were definitely not what was described on the menu. I had the summer fruit tart, which was supposed to have custard under the topping,it was a rather sour lemon curd, which was rather odd,and luckily I asked for a bit of cream, which I later realised that we had been charged extra for, which without I could not have eaten the tart ,as it was so sour. My husband ordered the chocolate cheesecake,it certainly had no chocolate whatsoever,it was just a rather too soft vanilla, with a bit of fruit coulis on top. Rather a shame,as I was looking forward to the dessert, and it was very disappointing

On arrival we were welcomed by the friendly staff and taken to our table. My wife and I had a very good dinner here; for a main course I had the Skate which was served with a lovely sauce and my wife enjoyed the tasty fish cake. The desserts were also very good. This is a very well run business having a relaxed atmosphere and a top quality menu; we will certainly return soon.
