Dining for 6 adults 7:30pm Thursday evening - wonderful. The food options were interesting and very well prepared and served. All our party commented on the good flavours, quantity, and selection on the plates. The wine went well with the food. Pub very busy and bit of a delay between starter and main but ambience and activity kept us happy. We ended up being last out but were not hurried out nor made to feel we had to go. Highly recommended.

Lovely birthday experience. Wasn't sure what it would be like as we haven't been for over 10 years and it has changed hands since then. The interior is very much the same, very cosy, friendly and relaxed. Outside was busy as it was a hot summer's day, so was glad to be inside. Great service, friendly and tasty food. I would probably go back at a quieter time and maybe autumn or winter as I think it would be a lovely atmosphere. Good to go back and see that it is still a wonderful place. Great for the views too if you sit in the garden for drink.

Review: The Anchor Inn, Dorset The Anchor Inn in Dorset is an absolute gem, offering a truly delightful dining experience. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with friendly, welcoming service that makes you feel right at home. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, and they clearly take pride in ensuring every guest has a wonderful time. But the real star of the show here is the great fresh seafood. Every dish tastes like it's just come straight from the sea. Whether it's the perfectly cooked fish of the day, succulent prawns, or plump mussels, the quality and freshness shine through. The menu offers a fantastic selection, catering to all seafood lovers, and each dish is expertly prepared and beautifully presented. If you're looking for a charming pub with outstanding seafood and genuinely warm service in Dorset, The Anchor Inn is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed!

I ordered the roasted aubergine with salad and granary roll. I assumed I’d get a roasted aubergine. In fact I had a flat granary roll with probably 12 pieces of aubergine each max of 1cm cubes. Not the tastiest and most certainly could not taste any aubergine whatsoever. It was dry and quite tasteless. My husband ordered the sardines on toast. Only one small piece of sourdough. Had to order more and got charged extra!

The food was lovely but I have to say, not as good as we have had previously. For me the portion size was fine but the fish wasn't as large as usual for my husband & the chips seemed very 'frozen'.

A beautiful day at Seatown. We sat inside to have some shade. Drinks and food orders taken promptly even though it was very busy. Very attentive staff. We had hake with crayfish which was gorgeous. Very enjoyable lunch and compliments to the chef!

Excellent food and location. Only criticism is that the water offered was very warm, should be chilled. Thoroughly recommend.
